Description of Work: It has been a year since I hired SD Stucco to re-stucco my 1927 Bungalow. I had a very fair estimate from Steve Locurto. He was friendly, polite, courteous and answered all my questions. I decided to go with them even though there were a few low grades on Angie's List because I checked their referrals and people were very happy. I hired them to do the job because I was very specific in wanting the texture called Cats Eye or Montalvo and how it would be applied. Steve made no empty promises. Other companies who bid wanted to charge quite a bit more for the Montalvo texture I wanted. |Having your home sandblasted is a rather astonishing experience so if you're not familiar with construction or sandblasting you need to educate yourself and your neighbors in preparation. Steve made sure I notified my neighbors on what to expect. I also gave my immediate neighbors gift certificates to have their cars washed. |I am extremely happy with the outcome and since it has been a year I feel qualified to make a sound critique of the completed job. No significant issues developed. I have noticed some hairline cracking that has developed over a few areas that I am keeping my eye on but they do appear to be from normal settling & hardly noticeable unless you are up close and looking for them. I am certain they had nothing to do with the application of the stucco. The crew was great to work with; prompt, polite and friendly. I would not hesitate to recommend them to friends and family and I would hire them again if ever necessary.

+ -1 moreThey sales person was early for his appointment and very good at talking me into re doing the entire house instead of repairing the damaged stucco.
Description of Work: I had my home re-stuccoed by this company and the workers were very messy and very irritated with me when I questioned areas that they missed. 2 months later my stucco is falling off and I can't get anyone to return my call. I will be taking them to small claims court.

+ -1 moreI have had a couple of issues since the job was performed in 2010. Discoloration around my kitchen window and pieces of the stucco falling off in one area of my backyard. I contacted them about this and since they never answer their phone I left a message. One of the owners called me back. He was very accommodating and friendly. He seemed to really care about my issues. He indicated he would get a customer rep to call me for a follow up. That was over two months ago. Still no call. I called them three times since, left messages, and still have not received a response. I guess when they don't want to deal with a customer they simply ignore them. The 30 year warranty has little value if they don't answer their phone or follow up on messages.
Description of Work: Stucco exterior of 1500 square foot home.

+ -1 moreThe guy showed up on time. He was very knowledgeable, but they were really, really expensive. They were double of anybody else. They did not want the job. He said that they are mostly into like re-stucco. He was like totally rude and brought me to a wrong way. He gave us a quote without even calculating. He did not even take measurement of the house.

+ -1 moreOverall, San Diego Stucco did a very nice job. The work was done in about 4 days spread over 2 weeks. The crew was friendly and neat. There was difficulty matching the color of the rest of the house because it was painted, but SD Stucco came back to apply a fog coat to match when our initial color was definitely too light. My only minor complaint was the responsiveness in arranging the work dates. I had to call to arrange both the first start date as well as the fog coat date. UPDATE 12/17/12 The stucco itself looks good from far away, but over the past couple of years, there has been some crumbly bits that have fallen off as well as some fading. They came back to do a fogging coat last year, but this year they said I would need to pay the fee to do the fogging, or just paint it as a cheaper alternative.
Description of Work: The wood siding on the front of the house was removed. The lath was put up, and then the stucco was applied to match the rest of the house. Also, a wooden support beam was made more substantial with more wood and that was also stuccoed.
