ALLEN'S PRO FLOORING

After the installation, I noticed a chipped area of the flooring, so I went on-line to the product manufacturer's website to look up the warranty for the Yorkshire. As it turns out, the warranty for the Yorkshire Kronotex is in fact a 15-year warranty, not the 20-year warranty that Mr. Fulk said it was. I also called the manufacturer, and their rep assured me that they have nothing to do with the other product's manufacturer nor do they sell them any of their materials. In addition, the Kronotex Yorkshire is only a 7 mm thickness as opposed to the Mannington which is an 8 mm thickness. The manufacturer of my product referred me to the distributor for Kronotex and other laminate companies. I spoke with Jeff Schaller, the rep to Allen s, who assured me he never told Allen Fulk any of the things that Allen said he did about the Kronotex product. I contacted Allen Fulk by phone the morning after the installation and informed him that there was a chipped area on the flooring. Also, I informed him that the installers had made a huge mess throughout the house with saw dust everywhere as they had operated their saw right outside the front door, which had been left wide open all day. He set up an appointment to have an installer come back to fix the damage on 7/16/08 at 12:00. I also told Mr. Fulk that I had looked up the warranty information and discovered it was not as he had stated and I was not satisfied. He offered me a laminate floor care kit which I picked up from his store the next day. At the store, I also tried to again discuss with him the reasons I was unsatisfied, namely, that he had lied to me and sold me a low-quality product. I told him that I wanted a refund and he became belligerent and ordered me to sit down. He then stated he would extend the warranty another five years on top of the 15-year warranty, to which I replied no thanks as I have no assurance that he would still be in business in 20 years. Plus, that doesn t change the fact that the product he sold me is of inferior quality and he lied to the customer. Because he was hostile, I felt intimidated, and as I was the only other person in the store at the time, I left immediately. I allowed his installers to come and make the repairs on 7/16/08 and while they were here, I also showed them another area with damage. Since then, I have noticed further areas on some of the planks where the seams are noticeable and the planks are raised. There are also corners on some of the planks where there is no color. The finish is dull overall throughout and shows streaks, scratches, footprints and smears, even after use of the laminate floor care products. The laminate that was sold to us is a poor quality product that was sold to us based on lies. For these reasons, I am requesting a refund in full. I wrote Mr. Fulk a letter sent by certified mail but to date have not had any response from him.

THE OWNER WAS VERY NICE AND HELPFUL WHEN HE CAME OUT FOR ESTIMATE. WE BOUGHT CARPET AND TILE FROM HIM. THE TILE WAS PUT ON BACK ORDER FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME WHICH PUSHED BACK OUR INSTALLATION. OUR CARPET FADED IN MANY SPOTS AND HE WOULD NOT HELP US OUT WITH THE WARRANTY. HE BLAMED THE FADING ON US. I WOULD NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE AGAIN!
