Description of Work: He came and gave an estimate. We met a second time to determine the scope of work and he wasn't really prepared to do that. He said he would be available that weekend and then called and said he didn't know when he would be available. I left it with him that he could call when he actually knew when he had time. I really didn't have an immediate need to start the project right away but I did want a start date.

It was a job that I had considered doing, but was frankly overwhelmed by the carpentry required. The center post of the cabinetry would not permit a single piece replacement. Franco even laughed at my plumber's jokes. We will be using him again soon.
Description of Work: Replaced water damaged shelf under sink in kitchen and at the same time install a new garbage disposal.

 + 2 moreFranco did an excellent job. The tile work is so good you can't see where the old tiles were replaced. It was very easy to reach Franco by phone, he replied to voicemails very quickly. He arrived exactly when he said he would. He worked very hard all day and completed the job in one day including 2 trips to the hardware store for necessary parts.
Description of Work: Removed cracked or partial floor tiles and replaced with new tiles (new vanity is raised off the floor but old vanity was a box with no tiles underneath).. Replaced water shut off valves and some parts under the sink. Installed the new vanity, sink, and mirror. Take away pallet, parts of old vanity and old mirror.

Description of Work: Franco visited me first, surveyed the job, gave me a price and then returned a few days later to do the work. He did an excellent job. It involved replacing 4 fence posts and replacing the mail box post. He painted the posts also to match the fence. I would definitely use Franco again. He is capable of doing many things!

 + 3 moreVery happy with service. We have used Franco many times in the past as well. He has built fences, done minor electrical, replaced our sink garbage disposal, and even installed wood flooring. We also had him rebuild our pool pump house with all new wood for us last year. Franco always gives us a fair price for his work. He is more competitive than many other services that we have priced. For this service we went on vacation and during this time Franco completed the work. Both bedrooms look excellent. We even asked for a custom border design with smaller design tiles along with the larger ones in one bedroom and Franco was able to do the job well. He also took the time to install baseboard trim in both rooms and even painted them a matching white color! Franco gave us a follow up call after we returned to check and make sure we were happy with his service. We have recommend his service to all of our friends and many have used them too.
Description of Work: Installed new bathroom heating fan. Removed carpet and installed tile flooring in two bedrooms.

Description of Work: Franco spoke to us at length about several projects we want done and gave us great advice. He is very honest and truthful about the scope and cost of everything, which we very much appreciate. We plan on using Franco as soon as we are ready to proceed. One day we were stuck putting in a bathroom light fixture and Franco stopped by on his way home and completed it for us. He also fixed a broken kitchen drawer which was driving us crazy!!

On Monday Franco came out to see exactly what needed to be done and he sent me a quote within a few days. He came out the next week with a helper and finished the work in 2 days. It turned out great and I would definitely use this company again. Both Franco and his helper were very professional and polite.
Description of Work: Replaced wood siding on chimney, put wire over top of chimney to keep birds out, rebuilt wooden arbor over entry path, replaced rotting trim around garage side door, replaced a section of rotting wood trim around roof.

When we contacted Franco, he was very understanding and came out and completely repainted the ceiling. It now looks much smoother and even coated. All electrical work was done very well and quickly.

 + 2 moreFranco was punctual and even picked up the new toilet that I had bought from the store on his way to my house. I appreciated his helpful and considerate attitude as he encouraged me to plan out the tasks to get the most value for the time and his willingness to have me purchase the products and materials for the job. He worked diligently with little fanfare. Over the week I noticed a very small amount of water at the base of the toilet that appeared somewhat inconsistently as I tried to discern if it was a leak or my cat drinking water out of the toilet?... I finally called Franco and he responded that day as we made a time to check it out. The leak was so inconsistent that I almost called him to cancel our appointment. But when he called me to confirm , l told him that l hadn,'t seen any water except one drop since the night before. But he obligingly confirmed the meeting. He came and though there was very little water, he tightened some likely source and agreed to work the hour at my suggestion despite his policy of a two hour minimum. He also gave me some estimates for some of the other projects l plan . As before, he worked diligently and as for now this has worked out well for me. He left assuring me that he would return if the mysterious water continued to appear.c
Description of Work: I had a number of electrical tasks, such as replacement of three very damaged outlets, two lamps that needed cord replaced, a new toilet installed'' a bathroom light ceiling fixture replaced, and a wall grate secured to the wall. Franco offered either an hourly rate or a job price. I purposely started with these small jobs to see how it worked out and said so at our contact because I do have some other larger projects later.

In an upstairs bedroom, he removed a defective lighting system in the master bathroom dressing area, and later re-installing the repaired fxture. In the spare bedroom he rmoved an ugly big mirror and replaced it with one more appropriated. He repainted the entire bathroom, caulking where needed. In the living room he fixed a disfunctioning blind and other minor repairs. Outside, there was dry rot under the front window sills--he replaced the rotted boards and installed and painted new pieces. He also caulked and repainted a small plaster wall along the fence by the side of the house. There are future projects that need to be done and I plan to use his services again.
Description of Work: This service was excellent. He arrived with appropriate tools, made helpful suggestions and completed everything with finesse, including the cleanup.

 + 6 moreFull disclosure: Franco is my friend's dad. He's an expert plasterer. When he told me he was doing handyman work, I trusted him to tackle a few projects in our home and condo. He's done a wide number of projects and has been true to the cost and time estimates every time we've used him. I don't recall what we've spent combined on his services (as we're periodically had projects) but his prices have been fair and his work has been solid. Franco is easy to work with and honest. He's recommended that we not tackle some projects because they simply were going to be too pricey to pull off given our layout. He's also hard working and completed all projects on time...and even cleaned up afterwards. Franco has done work in our kitchen, bathroom and even looked at our ceiling (twice). I wasn't sure how good his work would be when we first hired him but we took a leap of faith and haven't been disappointed. His plastering skills are first rate and he knows how to do a wide variety of projects. Franco is a true professional and took the time to determine exactly what we wanted and how we wanted it to look. We even asked him to redo a few tiles and a plug (after the fact) and he was able to do it. We've used other handymen in the past but they have overcharged us or our family over time. I hate seeing people take advantage of others so we no longer use them. Franco is the real deal and I really appreciate his straight forward and honest approach.

 + 0 moreFranco Iacobelli did an excellent job of replacing an upstairs toilet for us which had been problematic with Lowes. The installer at Lowes told us we needed to replace the tile before we could seat the toilet. In trying to find a tile layer who would do a small job, and not having any success, I tried Angie's list and called AtoZ Handyman. Franco was at my house at the scheduled time, replaced the toilet without all the problems the installer said we'd have and took away the old toilet. He is honest, pleasant, and very clean. I would highly recommend him for work he says he can do.

 + 2 moreHe always does an excellent job, repeatedly going well above and beyond what he committed. The quality of the work is excellent, as are his prices. I read that other review about the coupon and could not disagree more with that experience. Franco has literally spent days working on a multitude of jobs at my house in the past three months and has been nothing but up front and honest with us. If there is something I want to do that doesn't make sense, he tells me, but also helps me find a workable solution. For example, I hate the cabinets in my bathroom (they are old and smell, same as the ones we are replacing in my kitchen) but it's impossible to remove the cabinets and keep the counters, which I really like. So he helped me find the paint that seals in stains and locks in the odors, and now I like my bathroom much better. He also always gives us the the receipts for the materials (e.g. wood for shelves), and in some cases eats the costs (e.g. he did not charge me for any of the spackle, nails, screws, grout, caulk, etc. he's used so far). Franco is by far the best, most reliable, honest handyman we've used and I would recommend him without hesitation. I have already recommended him to several friends and neighbors.
Description of Work: I originally found Franco through the great reviews he has received on Angie's List. I contacted him in July to fix a variety of things, including pressure washing our deck, replacing several lights and fans, fixing a leaking bathroom sink, and installing new shelving in the house and the garage. From the moment he showed up to the do the original estimate I had every confidence he would get the job done well and I was right. He was diligent and dedicated to getting everything on our list completed even though I kept adding things. At the end of the day he discounted the price from the original estimate even though I felt he'd done more work and it had taken longer than anticipated. He also completed several minor handyman tasks (e.g. installing hooks and spackeling walls) completely for free. The next time we used him was for a much bigger project, removing and replacing the cabinets and backsplash in our kitchen. He did the measuring of the kitchen for us, and we stayed in touch as the cabinets were being made. (We ordered our cabinets from Home Depot). Once they were delivered he worked quickly and efficiently, completing the cabinet work from start to finish in just two days - less than half the time Home Depot quoted and at less than half the cost. This included moving the placement of several appliances and adding electrical outlets, as well as connecting the water line to the refrigerator. The price I put on this review was for the kitchen project. He also spent over an hour with me one evening to help pick out the right design and materials for our back splash (this being our first major remodel we had no idea what to look for or what we needed). When we couldn't find the exact size tiles I wanted, he was very flexible in cutting them to the right size. Tonight he made a special trip at 7pm just to reconnect our new sink because the counter supplier was not helpful with that process. Our kitchen is now almost finished and looks amazing thanks to Franco's dedication and the pride he takes in his work.
