Nelms landscape and sprinkler repair

Larry Nelms and his crews are awesome. They poured about 12 yards of concrete in my back and side yards and also landscaped with plants, mulch, and irrigation around my entire back yard. It was very reasonably priced and looks great. After explaining that I've always had trouble getting enough water to some dying Redwood trees, he recommended and installed Netafim drip. I was skeptical as I'd tried various drip and other types of irrigation and a few of the trees were still dying and I was sure they were goners. He assured me it would work. Fast forward a couple months and the trees are thriving. He was 100% right about what to do and Netafim was the perfect solution. I'm so grateful to not lose those trees. Part of the back yard project included moving some sprinkler valves from the back/side to the front so the whole side yard could be poured and look clean. The crew accidentally cut my pool fill line as it was buried with the sprinkler valves. This wasn't discovered until weeks after the concrete was poured. After letting Larry know, he came out personally with a team of guys, cleanly cut a patch of concrete above the cut, repaired the line, and repaired the concrete. No hassle whatsoever. Larry is easy to work with and I'd recommend his services to anyone. Thanks Larry!

2 weeks ago, I contacted him for an estimate. After meeting with him, he assured me that he would drop off an estimate by the end of the week. I have sent him several texts, left messages and still no edtimate. He may be a nice guy and good at what he does, however that does not make up for poor customer service.

Nelms Landscape responded quickly and resolved all of the issues quickly. They used quality parts and were very affordable. All issues were resolved and no follow up was needed. They were professional and even handled another unrelated repair for free! I was happy with my experience and would definitely use them again. Even their service vehicle looked professional as it was clearly marked with business logos and even had the Angie's List symbol on it!

Valves were underground and leaking. Valves were replaced and relocated above ground surface.
 a  Major complaint was poor waste water drainage from back yard. Drain line was broken and above grade. Business was to provide estimate to repair/replace drain line. Business has yet to provide estimate.

Set up an appointment date and kept it. Said that he would get back to us with an estimate in a couple days and he did just that. Very nice guy, professional, and answered all our questions. Even offered his opinions and advice on the project which were all great.

So my wife and I finally bought our first home. Ill admit, it was a bit of a fixer upper, but we got it at a great price due to the fact that the landscaping was nonexistent. So upon moving in, my wife told me that women at the place she banks at (Union Bank )raved about a guy named Larry, who's company is Nelms landscaping. She said not one, but all three of the women working there said there is nobody better. So I told my wife to get his number from them, next time she was in there. She did, i and gave him a call the next day, which was Saturday June 7th. First, i was very surprised that he was able to come on a Saturday. We made an appointment for 2:00 that afternoon, and he was right on time. We talked about what needed to be done. I wanted a new sprinkler in the front and the back, along with sod in the front and back, with flowers and bark around the edges, and since our fence was rotted and falling apart, i asked him to include a new fence into the quote. He told me he would write up a quote and have it to me in a few hours. Larry called me me a little over 1 hour later. I was very impressed with his punctuality. I had a budget of $15,000 to spend on the job but was pleasantly surprised when he told me the job would cost $13,700. I asked him, when could he start and would he would finish, and he told me could start Monday morning (June 9th) and would finish by Wednesday June 18th. We agreed and he was at my house the following Monday with his crew. I have to say in previous landscaping jobs, i seen the boss giving instructions, while his crew of guys did the actual work. But this was not the case, as Larry was getting down and dirty and work just as hard as his crew of workers. Each day, they arrived promptly at 8:00 am and left at 5:00 pm, even working on Saturday. Well i am pleased to say Larry and crew were completely finished with everything by 5:00 pm, Monday night(yesterday). I was very satisfied with the work, as our yard went from looking like the worst on the block to the best in the neighborhood. Afterwards, Larry asked me how i felt about the work and if there was anything else i wanted him to look at or make better. The answer was no, as my wife and I were very happy with how everything looked. Larry then gave me the bill, which i expected to be $13,700, but was shocked when i seen the bill was only for $12,850.00. Larry finished the job ahead of schedule and under budget. This was a first for me or my wife. I have never worte a review for anybody, ever but I decided to get onto to Angie's list and right a review because of his great customer service and the great work he did. I would highly recommend Nelms landscape to any and everybody who wants great work at a great price.

James and his workers were very punctual and showed up at the expected times. They worked hard and responded to questions and changes in a timely manner. The end result was early completion and a beautiful back yard.
