Beautifully!! Mike visited us at the house three time before he started the job. He showed us mock-ups for the final design. As a side note, we initially, were only going to change out the counter top, but quickly realized we should change out the bottom cabinet as well, then just as quickly realized we should do the whole dang thing and we couldn't be happier with the result!! Mike walked us through cabinet selection - we saw the samples he brought and chose one (beautiful white Shaker style) and went with it. Mike and Miguel, were on-site the whole way. They kept the job-site (our home) neat and clean every day - which made a disruptive job less impactful on the rest of the house. Mike and Miguel's attention to detail are truly unsurpassed. They took a tired, sad 1947 kitchen and welcomed it to the 21st century. My husband and I can't say enough about the service and workmanship we received! If you have anything that needs attention around your house, check with Mike before calling anyone else - you won't be disappointed.
Description of Work: Mike and his assistant, Miguel, remodeled our kitchen. They installed a new quartz counter top, red glass brick back splash, new shaker cabinets, under cabinet lighting, moved the gas line for the oven, installed the new drywall, reconfigured plumbing and added electrical lines to accommodate new plugs on both sides of the kitchen and bring us up to code.

I have not yet come made a decision, but Mike has been in continuous contact with me. He informed me that he can work within my budget and he can do it any time that is convenient for me. He is always very pleasant and professional asking about how I am doing as well as my family. He is very personable and honest, which you will not find in many contractors today. He will also find you the best price for the quality. I have used Mike for several years and I would highly suggest using him as he is the best you will find. Price is not always the key factor, but you also have to compare apples to apples and not oranges when it comes to what materials and services are being used as many times people don't realize the differences. Mike will tell you the truth based on your needs. He is also a family man and considers the needs of families he services.
Description of Work: Mike came out to look at where I wanted wood floors installed. He gave me various ideas, recommedations and informed me where to purchase the product and to see samples.
Mike was very professional, courteous, and arrived on time whenever work was performed on our house. He may not be the least expensive choice, but he is upfront about costs and his estimates were very accurate compared to the final invoices after work was performed. After having a terrible experience with a different contractor during our house's demolition and rough construction, Mike was definitely worth the price, he is always onsite and does bulk of the work himself with one to two assistants. We had a few minor things that needed adjusting after the work was performed, and Mike was very quick to come and replace or adjust them. We have recommended his services to friends since our home's completion and would not hesitate to use his services again for future projects.
Description of Work: Installed kitchen cabinets and countertops (we had purchased them ourselves wholesale), installed 2 bathroom toilets, vanities, and fixtures, glass doors for shower stall and tub/shower, fixed plumbing and some electrical work done by previous rough construction contractor. Assorted other things that needed fixing to pass our home's final inspection.

I have done business with Mike before in the past several times. He knew that I was busy during the week, so he immediately came on a Saturday morning and did all of these tasks for me. He had plans to be with his son, so I felt very bad that he came out. He said that since I have been a previous customer and he knew that I had lost my wallet he said that he would do everything for free. I really appreciated he coming out on a Saturday and not even charging me. He was very thoughtful and kind as most people would charge no matter what the situation may be. He took time to speak to my kids to see how they were doing. I was very impressed with him. I would highly recommend him for any work!
Description of Work: I called Mike because I needed a small garage screen fixed and my outside gas electric heater was not working. I also needed a door handle replaced.

Mike has been amazing - we been at this for over a year. He and his crew are all excellent at what they do. He started by doing one bathroom - down to the studs, moving a door and window, etc. Then he started on my master bathroom. After that he took my kids' bedrooms down to the studs, because of some mold and problems with previous bad paint jobs. He extended out hardwood floors into the hallway. He replaced moldings and baseboards throughout most of the house. He replaced light fixtures. Then he did a remodel on my living room, removing old panelling, etc. Then came the big job - he remodeled my kitchen/dining room, which required moving a load baring wall. That was huge, but he is great. Any unexpected things that come up he deals with in a creative and effective manner, while keeping the costs low. My house is now gorgeous! He really deserves all the great reviews he gets here. He is hands on and responsive. He will keep you updated on what is going on, and if he falls behind he and his guys will try and work longer hours and weekends. I would definitely use his again, but I think he has done it all!
Description of Work: Mike did everything - he remodeled two bathrooms, the kitchen (which included removing a load baring wall) did a minor remodel on my living room, two bedrooms and a hallway. He also updated my exterior, replaced an old fence and painted the entire house.

Mike and his crew did a great job. Excellent quality and punctuality. They did take good care as to not cause damage to the surroundings. He understood for the most part of what I wanted and worked hard to achieve that. Though there were a few misunderstandings. All in all great job and I will have him back for an estimate on the Kitchen remodel. I would suggest to make sure you do your homework before any work is done. He expects you to know what you want. My other suggestion is to make sure everything you want or talked about is on the estimate.
This is the third time I'd use Mike for a project and I'd do it again in heartbeat. Prior to the most recent project, he brought his crew in to replace all of the flooring in our house with hardwood. He did this on short notice and was able to finish the job, as promised, on time. For this project, Mike did a refresh of our bathroom, hallway, and master closet. His estimate was accurate and he was more than willing to work with us to make changes along the way. He was very upfront about what it would take and provided great advice on options for achieving what we wanted. His crew always arrived on time, stayed as late as they needed to (often after 5PM), and where always there on the days he he said they would be. We were living in the house during the work and his crew did a great job containing the dust and construction work.
Description of Work: Mike renovated our 1.5 guest bathroom which included new tile and glass enclosure for the shower, removing and installing all new fixtures, install hardwood floors, and refinish the walls. Mike also refinished the walls in our hallway and stairwell and installed a new master closet, complete with sliding pocket door.

Both our kitchen and master bath were completely gutted. They took down a couple non-load bearing walls that housed our old shower (in master bath) and washer and dryer (in kitchen). We've gone from a severely dated kitchen and bath set-up (I'm sure they were beautiful in 1951) to model-worthy showcases. They also did a great job refreshing our guest bath with new tile floor, reglazed sink, and toilet. The built-in bookcase and mantle look amazing. The price quoted was very reasonable. Some items were omitted from the initial quote. This included plumbing, electrical, and materials for the countertops, flooring, and backsplash. Although other bidders gave us allowances, I preferred Mike's approach. He provided a range of what it would likely cost based on my description of the existing plumbing (the horizontals were previously replumbed with copper pipe, but the galvanized steel risers remained) and electrical (previously rewired the house except for the kitchen). This allowed me to budget the items without causing bickering when costs would eventually overrun the quoted allowances. Instead we discussed and agreed on the individual prices for those items once the plumbing and electrical were exposed. As for the tilework, we preferred doing our own shopping. In the end, everything came out great and Mike and his crew were the utmost professionals throughout the entire process. The project finished on time, which was important to us because our first child was on the way. Mike checked in on us after our son was born to congratulate us and make sure we had no more items on our punch list. We really liked this attentiveness. He even answered a home maintenance question I had several months after he completed our project. I would recommend BMO to everyone.
Description of Work: Mike and his crew did a complete remodel of our kitchen and master bath. They also updated our guest bath, added a beautiful mantle and built-in bookcase surround at our fireplace, renovated our old furnace closet, and relocated our water heater.

Mike arrived with his crew on Wednesday morning and immediately set to work. He and his two helpers knew exactly what to do without any wasted steps. After he removed the old galvanized pipe, he showed us that it was completely gone on the side facing the wall, which we could not see while the pipe was installed. It was totally rusted out on that side. Also, that pipe, which led to the outside and connected to the sewer line, had been placed diagonally so that one entire side of the cabinet space was rendered unusable. Mike replaced the plumbing so that it led directly back into the wall, giving us more usable space. He made installing the new, single bowl, stainless steel sink look lilke child's play. He carefully applied adhesive and placed the sink. Then he applied clear silicone caulk to make the edges water-tight. Mike is a sweet-natured, highly competent, detail-oriented contractor. We used him last year to completely renovate our old 1940's bathroom, which turned out beautifull and functional. We would recommend Mike highly and plan to use him again when we re-do the front of our house.
Description of Work: Mike replaced a rusted-out pipe under the kitchen sink, repaired and replaced moldy stucco on the outside wall, and installed a new kithen sink. He replaced all the ancient plumbing under the sink.

I found Mike through Angies List and based on the positive reviews, I decided to get a price from him for an extensive bathroom remodeling project. After receiving a couple of bids, I went with Mike based on his price and reputation. Mike and his guys were always punctual and professional. The work site was always kept very clean and Mike was always open and honest with the work he was performing and kept me informed at each step in the project. While the project took much longer than expected due to the complexity and typical problems uncovered in old houses, Mike continued to plug along with a positive attitude until the work was complete. The quality and workmanship of the project was excellent and I would definitely consider using Mike again on a future project. The overall costs came in a bit higher than expected, but in fairness, most of this was a result of unforeseen project conditions and not because of any hidden costs. In fact Mike was always very clear about any new costs and made sure I was in agreement before proceeding. In addition, at the completion of the project, I submitted a small project punch list for Mike to complete. I've had problems in the past with other contractors not wanting to complete a punch list once they've moved onto the next job, but Mike accepted the list and corrected all the issues in a timely manner. Thanks to Mike and his crew for a job well done!

I have used BMO Kitchen & Bath for many years for jobs ranging from complete re-modeling of homes to larger repairs and upgrades both for my personal residence and my rental properties. They always are a terrific partner on projects large and small giving ideas, sharing insights and perspectives based on their experience. Most importantly there is no "good enough" in their vocabulary. Jobs have to be done right! I can always count of them to handle situations at my rentals in a professional and expert way, whether or not I'm available to be on site. They are my first call.
Description of Work: Electrical problem at one of my rental properties that involved trouble shooting the problem and making the necessary repairs. The job was completed on time and on budget.

The job went very well. Mike and his crew were punctual, courteous, and cleaned up well every day. They protected the floors to the bathroom and put up a plastic screen to protect the rest of the house from the construction dust. The entire job took about 5 weeks to complete. Their attention to detail was impressive, and welcomed. The tile looks fantastic, and the finish carpentry is perfect! A few surprises turned up, as can be expected when working on an older house, including additional structural framing and sub-floor work. Mike was very good about explaining the details of these changes, and had our complete trust in both scope and cost. I would not hesitate to recommend BMO to my family and friends.
Description of Work: BMO remodeled a bathroom for us. The original bathroom dated from the 40's. Mike and his crew demolished the bathroom down to the studs, moved a door and a window, and reframed three walls for the new bathroom. They put in a new sub-floor, and then installed all new plumbing, electrical, drywall, tile floor and tub surround, wainscot, bath tub, vanity, and medicine cabinet. They installed the new window and hung the old door and door frame (to maintain consistency with original bedroom doors in the hallway to the bathroom). To complete the job they painted the bathroom, and stuccoed and painted the exterior wall around the new window.

Mike was great. I found him on Angie's list. I also found another contractor I liked, but chose Mike because his price was much lower. I think the other guy puts some pad in for unexpected things, while Mike charges you for things that comes up, but promises to be reasonable. This was certainly the case. Even with addons, he was about 5K less than the other well reviewed guy. He uses quality materials, and is a real perfectionist. It makes a difference. The tile work is lovely! I think this is the first time I have used a contractor that I haven't considered killing by the end of the job. He is easy going, easy to talk to and always kept me informed on what was going on. The job fell a bit behind schedule, but through not fault of Mike's. I was getting worried because both my kids were coming home, plus an extra kid, and was worried about 5 of us using one bathroom. Mike and his crew worked weekends and some evening hours get get it done in time. His crew were all professional, too. I plan on using him to remodel the other bathroom, paint some rooms, and then onto the kitchen!

It actually went very well for my first remodel experience, thanks to Mike and his crew. Before the project began, Mike gave me suggestions for locations for where to purchase some of the materials. Mike was right on with the timeline from the beginning until the finish and was "hands on" with a lot of the work. Even though two change orders were needed to replace some of the galvanized vent pipe and the drain pipes and subfloor, I felt Mike was fair in his price, and it was all completed timely, passing each inspection phase. Mike and his crew were very good about cleaning up each day and appearing on-site as scheduled. I recommend B.M.O. Kitchen & Bath Renovation and plan to use them for a kitchen remodel later this year.

I called Mike and informed him that I had bad shower leak and that I needed help immediately. He was busy working on a project, but said he was willing to come any other time. Since I had sick children at home and I informed him that due to the bad leak I could not wait, so instead of telling me that I should wait for him he told me that he would recommend me looking for someone else based on my urgency. Many people would tell me that it shouldn't be so bad and so I could wait for them. He was honest and apologized for the inconvenience. He said that if I could not find anyone then he would try his best to come and he called me later to see if the problem was fixed. I have never had any contractor call me back to make sure the work was completed and to see how I was doing. Mike does not only perform great work, but he truly cares about his clients' needs. I would highly recommend him to anyone. Once you meet Mike you will not want to use anyone else!

I could have not asked for a more stress free remodel. Mike's crew was very professional and took pride in their work. Mike took the hiccups that always seem to show up when you open up walls and redo showers all in stride. During the tile work my wife and I made a couple of changes that would take more time to complete and Mike said no problem. Mike had some great ideas during the tile work, one was adding brush nickel trim around some of the edges that looks great. The one thing that made Mike really stand out was he always kept us informed as to what was going to be worked on the next day. Thank you Mike & BMO for a great job!
Description of Work: Complete demo and remodel to Master Bathroom. Remove wallpaper from Master Bedroom, skim coat bedroom walls, paint and install home owner suppled hardwood floors. BMO supplied glass shower, bathroom fan, heater, toilet, granite, vanity, cabinet and sliding glass closet doors. Home owner supplied all fixtures, tile and medicine cabinet.
Mike and his team were always professional. He would always clearly communicate the schedule - what the arrival time would be each day and exactly what was planned for the day. They installed plastic sheeting that did an excellent job of keeping most of the dust and dirt out of our bedroom. As with most remodel projects, there are issues uncovered during the project that are unexpected but have to be dealt with. In our case, there were a few of these including finding out that the previous exhaust fan was only venting into the attic instead of outside through the roof. There were some other challenges with the plumbing as well but Mike carefully explained the situations and the extra charges were very reasonable. As you will read time and time again here in the reviews, Mike pays very close attention to detail and makes things right. We are thrilled with the new bathroom and the new trim in the bedroom. B.M.O has done another outstanding job for us and we are already engaging Mike with additional projects.
Description of Work: This project was primarily a master bath remodel along with the installation of crown molding and baseboard in our master bedroom. This was the second fantastic bathroom that Mike and his team from B.M.O. have done for us. The items involved in the remodel were: ordering and installation of new cabinets and quartz countertop window replacement door installation electrical including exhaust fan and lighting fixtures (7) plumbing (moving drain pipes and supply lines, installation of faucets and shower drain/controls/trim) framing (shower curb, medicine cabinets) tiling (floor, shower and backsplash) installation of a new glass shower enclosure

Flawless work. Our 1920's front door never fit the frame (too narrow and crooked on one side), now it does fit perfectly and there's no more huge gap that lets ice cold air in in the winter. Mike added hard wood on one side. The difficulty was that the gap was about 2" on the bottom and 0" on the top. So the wood had to be cut to fit. The laundry room door had an old dog door in it from the previous owners. Mike took both doors with him, took the ugly plastic dog door out and replaced all the wood with solid hard wood, filled it all in and sanded everything smooth. Beautiful. Our 1920's front entrance never had tiled steps on it, it was just bare painted concrete and ugly. Mike installed gorgeous pavers we had made for the curved (!) steps. A difficult installation, since everything is round. I wish I could send you pictures, looks fabulous. The value of the house has certainly increased!

Mike was very friendly and took great pride in his work. He made sure the everything was done right -- when a portion of the tiling wasn't to his standards, he had it taken down and redone (at no cost to us). His team was respectful, turning down their music when we asked. And everyone was clean and on time. Mike also went above and beyond what was expected. After the job was completed, he called us to say that there was a detail he wanted to touch up. And when he heard that our new shower floor was a bit slippery, he made sure we got mat made especially for our kind of floor. That's service! We're thrilled with the work that was done!

Mike Burcea was very professional and knowledgeable throughout this job. His price was very reasonable, even the add-ons caused by the unexpected plumbing problems. It's lucky for us that he was able to handle the rather complex plumbing problems that he found in the walls and under the shower. It turned out the tub valve had been leaking for some time into the concrete slab. The trap under the shower floor had also been leaking. The 12 inch thick slab had to be cut out so that he could replace the pipes and drain before laying in the shower pan. The earth under the leaks had to be filled in with gravel where the leaks had eroded the soil. As these problems came to light, Mike was always calm and confident. He explained fully what the problem was and how to solve it. We had problems getting the tile here on time, and he was equally flexible about how to handle that. The final tile job looks great, and all details were finished neatly. I look forward to working with Mike on other home projects. I know that he will make sure the job comes out right, no matter what it is! Thanks, Mike!

The project was made more difficult when we found that water proof paper was not properly applied during the initial construction and pipes had to cut, passed through the siding and reassembled. As usual, Mike dealt with each of these challenges in a through, professional and compete way and made sure that the repairs where done right. Which is the standard for all his work!
Description of Work: My home was bult in 1981 and over the years a large area of the exterior siding had developed dry rot and water damage. Mike provided solid estimate for the work and proceed to remove ,repair and replace the damaged area in less than a day.
