Description of Work: Electrical wiring and then came back to go general remodeling such as walls, doors, windows.

+ -1 moreWe negotiated a contract price but then Mark wanted a very large deposit up front. When I advised him that he was only allowed to collect 10% or $1000 deposit, whichever is lower, he said something to the effect that he wasn't in business to finance other people's projects. He claimed his attorney had advised him that he could collect "mobilization" payments up front, despite statutory prohibitions. He accused me of threatening and harassing him then later influenced a concrete contractor to walk off the job.
Description of Work: Mark responded to an ad I placed looking for a contractor to build a small detached garage.

+ -1 moreMy husband and I live in an old home built in1925 that included very old knob-and-tube wiring. The wiring had been partially updated through the years by previous owners, but was not grounded, and nothing was up to code. We called Mark Ventura of VBI Construction. He arrived right away, spent time reviewing the wiring and explaining what needed to be upgraded. He walked the entire house, inside and out, took notes and gave us a very fair price. Mark was extremely professional. He and his assistant Terry worked extremely hard and diligently. We are so pleased with the results. We couldn't believe our luck in hiring VBI Construction. No hassles, no delays. VBI provided very straight-forward, honest and excellent work.
Description of Work: Complete electrical, up-to-code rewiring of a 1925 house, including grounding, and installation of a new service box.
