It went fantastically. Every person on the project was a craftsman. Design and build were outstanding. Everyone went above and beyond what was expected and we are thrilled with the outcome. They are the best contractor that I have ever used and I recommend them with the utmost confidence in them doing an excellent job for you.

Scarlett removed existing 675 ft-sq concrete deck, with three cumbersome levels and created a 1200 ft-sq deck with retaining and sitting walls, lighting, landscaping, enclosure for spa that is now level with deck, steps, and a surface finish that is artistry. One time, on budget; only additionals were the ones we wanted. Crew was excellent. I actually miss visiting with them and watching their "magic". Highly recommend.

They asked us to either pay $750 to see a full plan and estimates, or if we didn't want to do that, pay a $220 consulting fee just for showing up and listening to what we wanted. The guy they sent did not provide any consulting, notes, or estimate to us. He didn't even measure the yard. This 'consulting fee' was not disclosed before. Even if it had been disclosed, what would the fee be for? Nothing was delivered to the customer. He didn't even share his scribbled down notes. He didn’t tell us anything new that would be considered consulting. He clarified that if we paid $750 for a plan, then we would get estimates. However, the plan would only be ours to keep if went ahead hiring them and paid another $750 for a finalized plan. Sorry, but I don't hire somebody who wants $750 before an estimate is even created and basically leaves us at their mercy for results. Further, after we complained that the $220 consulting fee was not disclosed beforehand he said ''dont' worry about it", yet the same afternoon we received and invoice. Again, for what? Apparently with them it's $220 for nothing and $750 for estimates.

The result largely met my expectations and largely satisfied the terms of the contract. After the following actions were taken, the contract is fulfilled and my expectations are met. Irrigation water lines buried under concrete were to be installed in “tunnels” made of larger drain pipe to facilitate modification or repair in the future. This was not on the work order and the crews did not initially do it. I discovered this and asked for the correction. That was done to my satisfaction. Bare earth was to be treated with pre-emergent herbicide. That was not done and within a few weeks, grass and weeds were sprouting through the mulch. I contacted Scarlett about this and a crew was sent to pull the grass and weeds and to apply the pre-emergent herbicide. This was done to my satisfaction. After the one significant rain of the winter (this is in Southern California), I found an area where water accumulated in spite of the grading and drains. I contacted Scarlett in April about this and a crew was sent to extend one drain by a few feet to correct the problem under their guarantee. The same crew replaced new plants that had died over the winter, according to their guarantee. At additional cost, they replaced the transplanted plant with other new plants selected by me to fit into the landscape design. All of this was done to my satisfaction. I’m glad I had this project done as it has significantly increased my enjoyment of my property. I’m satisfied with my selection of Scarlett’s Landscape to produce a satisfying result at a reasonable price. Jeremy Scarlett, his designer Jason Stetler, and his crews led by Ray were all consistently focused on customer satisfaction.

I would not recommend these guys, because they skipped a very important step. Being landscape professionals I thought they would have recommended putting down a weed barrier before they put down Mulch. I noticed after they did the job that grass was growing through the mulch, which looked really bad. When I noticed this I asked them about getting rid of the weeds, they said they could, but it would be $70 an hour. When I asked how long that would take, they said $70 an hour, still not answering my question... Now I am constantly having to pull out grass to keep it looking good. for this reason I am giving them a bad review...

They were on time and on budget and pleasant to work with.

I found this company on Facebook and looked at some of the pics of jobs they had posted online. I thought I would give them a shot and have them come over and bid on my backyard. I was looking to install pavers, a planter bed, and a fire pit in my small 800 sqft backyard. I liked the fact that this company supposedly has a design team however I never got to meet them or talk to them and doing so will cost you money. I emailed this company letting them know the basic layout of what I wanted and stated that I was open to suggestions for the design since I liked some of the Face Book pictures. This lead to first misunderstanding as Jeremy thought I wanted a full design by his staff and was telling me that there would be a charge if I did not use their company. So after a few emails they realized I only wanted a bid and was open to suggestions on the design and was not locked into this idea. Jeremy came out and looked at my backyard and went through the process. I thought he left with a good concept of what I was looking to do and what I needed. The planter wall was a must as I have a weak wooden fence that is about 15 years old and I wanted a buffer between the fence and my dogs as the board are starting to loosen up. Jeremy emailed the bid back and it was over budget a few thousand dollars. When trying to inquire about ways to accomplish the same concept Jeremy changed the whole design. I hated it and when I asked if I can talk to his design team he blew me off and said I gave you the design we are pretty much done unless you want to proceed with what he gave me. Needles to say I went with another company that blew away anything I've seen this company do!!! It all worked out for a reason. It was shocking the amount of time invested trying to get a bid with this company. If you don't want to bid then don't waste my time and come out. I don't have to earn your business you have to earn mine. Update: I fail to see how this is vindictive however I have no problems providing more details about this experience and how your company lost a and gt;$20k job. The process started as an FB message to the company asking for a bid and was not 100% on the design and wanted to get ideas from a professional. Jeremy’s response for my initial request was to charge me to come out and provide a bid and that I did choose his company the money could have been used toward the project cost. I thought that was very odd since every company seems to provide free estimates to see if they can do the job and as you put it “be the right fit”. It took an additional 2 emails to get Jeremy to come out and perform the bid. Again this was odd as I have never found it so hard to work with a company before. After the initial estimate Jeremy provided his bid and also provided his sketch of what he wanted to do to my backyard. I did not like the design and was wanted to talk to one of his landscape designers to see if we can make changes. At that point Jeremy gave me a take it or leave it response and so left it. I took my business to another locally owned company and feed their family. If you are looking for process improvements I would defiantly lean towards sending out a sales professional who at least seems interested in performing the job. I think your response says it all and quot;nor do we want to help everyone or do every joband quot; good luck competing with that attitude.

They completed the job well and in good time. The owner and his workers were consistently attentive to customer satisfaction. The fence meets expectations but with minor defects. The contract called for scoring the concrete curb but this was not done. Minor cracks formed. The pair of Postmasters supporting the gate is out of plumb. This is noticeable only on close examination. I enjoyed working with Jeremy, Ray, and Antonio. They were consistently friendly and responsive to my requests to incorporate details not originally specified.
