Description of Work: I needed my shower knobs to be fixed/replaced. I called Independent Plumbing and left a voicemail message. I received a call back within a hour. The quote was higher than most of the others that I called and I was told that they did not offer a military discount.

+ -1 moreEXCELLENT. We don't think the kitchen sink or air vent leak anymore, and the fountain pump is working without leaking too now. Re the a/c repair, it hasn't been a/c weather, being winter now, but we assume that's done as well as the rest. BOTTOM LINE: My husband and I are both VERY pleased and give Mike four thumbs up! Mike' son was also here, very nice talented young man also. Both are responsible, punctual, pleasant to deal with, fairly priced, reliable, A++++++. By the way, we found Independent Plumbing through Angie's List, so this is a completely independent review - we are always a bit nervous trying someone new, and were very pleased to have found Mike at Independent plumbing.
Description of Work: Mike at Independent plumbing successfully solved FOUR (4) plumbing problems for us during the month of December: (A) a mysterious leak through a downstairs ceiling vent; (B) a mysterious leak into our kitchen below-sink cabinet; (C) an attic a/c plumbing leak; and (D) troubleshooting and repairing a botched fountain pump install job by another Angie's List contractor. Mike REALLY knows his stuff. He determined the dripping through a downstairs vent was due to an improperly seated toilet. The kitchen under sink leak was due to old caulking at the backside of the sink. The a/c plumbing water tube that needed replacing anyway, he recommended be re-routed so an a/c pump didn't need to pump up instead of simply horizontally. The biggest job was replacing a botched fountain pump install, where we perhaps stupidly hired pool/fountain people instead of just using a plumber - they mismatched PVC to copper and it was leaking so he had to re-do what they did, plus add rubber brace and pan.

+ -1 moreThe boss was on vacation so his son came out to assist us. He did every bit as good of a job as his father would have done. He removed a six foot root that was causing the blockage and did a superb job. The clean up was remarkably complete and there wasn't even a drop of water on the floor when he left. The price was extremely reasonable. I recommend his son and this company in general without any qualms.
Description of Work: We have used this company in the past and called again today because we had a stop in our downstairs toilet.

+ -1 moreMike at Independent Plumbing was awesome! His pricing was fair and his work was very neat and clean. We have a high end vacation home in Ventura and I I won't trust just anyone to work in it but I highly recommend Mike. I will definitely use him again in the future.

+ -1 moreWater was leaking under my house when I used the bath due to a broken pipe. I received multiple quotes from various plumbers but Independent Plumbing was the most reasonable and didn't suggest that I do a lot of unnecessary repiping work. The plumber was very punctual and I felt comfortable enough to leave the house for work. When I got back, the leaking pipe was replaced and he even fixed the switch for the drainage plug. It has been a month and I haven't had any problems.
Description of Work: Replaced bathtub waste and overflow piping under house.

+ -1 moreHe had to go through the wall and remove an old shower faucet handle, which appeared to be welded on. He completed this neatly and efficiently. All the old hardware was removed and new installed. The price was very reasonable. He charges a flat rate, covering a number of things. He could not have been more professional. He had everything with him he would need to complete the project. We also provides welding and soldering, which most plumbers do not. Price included labor and materials.
