ABC BEE CONTROL

I noticed bees flying into my home from my stove hood, so I found ABC online and called them on Tuesday morning. On Tuesday afternoon, the owner/mgr came over and assessed the situation. He recommended spraying inside the stove hood vent and replacing the vent screen to prevent further bees from entering the vent. He quoted me $400. I specifically asked if there could be a hive and he said there could not with the amount of bee activity present. Later that afternoon, Michael came and sprayed around the roof area. I was told he would tape off the opening of the vent at my stove to prevent bees from flying in as they were being sprayed. He did not do so. Michael told me another person would come later that afternoon to replace the vent screen, but that I did not need to be there, so I returned to work. At the end of the day, ABC called and said they could not get anyone out there that day, but they would be there sometime the next day, Wednesday. When I returned from work on Wednesday there were about 20 bees flying around inside my home. I called ABC, who informed me that no one had come to replace the screen and asked whether Michael had taped off the stove vent. I explained he had not. ABC promised me that someone would come Thursday morning at 8 to replace the vent screen. At 8:10, they called and said they were running late. I happened to come home from work at lunch and was there when Javier arrived. He asked me what he was supposed to do because he simply got a text from the company that said rescreen vent, with no description of where it was. I told him it was the stove vent, but didn't know where on the roof it came up. Javier came inside and taped off the stove and went up to the roof. That is when he found the 40 lb hive in the vent. I was told it would be an additional $800 to remove it, which seemed like a lot, but I had already given ABC $400 to spray and rescreen and I thought it would be more expensive to have another company start from scratch, so I agreed to pay it. I had to return to work, but I understand that Javier removed the hive and replaced the screen. I have not seen any bees since. The plastic sheeting he put up under the stove was filled with liquid that I was told was Simple Green, but it leaked all over the place including behind my stove and was a mess to clean up. I think the job was eventually done right, but the hassle and price was not worth it. Javier was the only person who seemed competent and professional.

They were late to our established meeting time. Gave an estimate over the phone for the job after surveying the site. We gave the go ahead, within 1 hour after they left the job site started getting calls from neighbors around the job site that angry bees were stinging people. Tried to get intouch with company to understand how long to expect this would go on. No numbers available for emergency's left message after message no call backs until next day. (lack of customer service) Stinging continued through the next day, and despite additional calls, left 1 voicemail on my cell phone saying this was "normal" but this did not seem normal too many stings and bees. Monday morning 7:45am our contractor calls saying his workers refuse to work too many bees swarming the air around the job site. I call the company and leave a message, 8:20 am I call again still no one there. Then we call another company and explain the situation, they agree to go out and investigate for us. They find that the entire structure of the hive has not been removed. There are 1000+ bees on the site disoriented and swirling around and moreover the scent of the honey and bee phenomes left on the structure is probably attracting other bees too. These bees are acting strangely because the queen is no longer with the hive and they recommend that we kill them. So, we pay them to do this. Meanwhile, the above vendor is insisting that they have not left any structure at all. We cancelled our credit card payment to them after seeing the pictures below, upon which time the owner of the company above threatened to return the bees he removed. I don't believe that this company relocated our bees because his technician said they were relocating them to Malibu and if that's true, how could they be in his office when we spoke to 4 days after they were removed from our site? Lastly, and when I began writing this review he had phoned to try to negotiate a "partial payment" for some service he performed for us. We believe this companies involvement with our hive only made the situation worse and we would have been better off if we never would have called them at all. Not to mention the fact the company #2 charged us 1/2 the price for 2x the service.

The job was poorly done and he left a mess and the bees came back swarming and the kept coming back to kill them but would not do the job. The just were un-professional. They would tell me that I was the worst customer they had.
