Excellent from the quote to the installation. Competitive quote. Great guys who did their own tear off and took extra care to keep the area clean for my little one. We even had a funky driveway that made the disposal and work very tricky which they handled with ease. All around great company, great communication, great results. We recommended them to friends of ours who also had a great experience.

As a homeowner of an older home, I've worked with my share of house maintenance specialist and Top Roofing is a company that I wholeheartedly recommend. We first were introduced to Marc with Top Roofing back during our home inspection where he warned us of some potential issues with an ill-designed glass paneled ceiling in one room as well as advised on a roofing issue regarding our solar panel contract. Over the course of a year and a half, he came to the house several times (with no money exchanged) to discuss our options for how we could deal with our leaking roof, including low-cost options (i.e. hiring a handyman). After much deliberation, we decided to scrap the ceiling/previous design and worked with Marc to design a new roof with skylight that would match the aesthetic of the existing mid-century modern architecture. Marc is very knowledgeable and concerned not only with what will look good, but more importantly what will be functional and minimize future issues. After calling several skylight manufacturers, Marc was able to find a discounted 4x8 custom skylight that we were very happy with. Once construction began on the roof, everything went as smoothly as possible. Marc came by several times a day to check on the progress and discuss design elements. Additional beams were added to create symmetry with the rest of the house and he bought on an electrician to address some electrical issues that needed to be addressed. In the end, we are very happy with the finished product and our only regret is that we didn't have this work done sooner.

Working with Top Roofing and Ron was a great process from beginning to end. We received great pricing and great advice on how to tackle the project without any upselling. Ron helped us think through our situation and the roofing solution that would best meet our budget and needs. Work was fast and efficient and included cleanup.

After the old shingles were removed, 3 new roofers showed up without the foreman. Luckily I had taken the day off and spent the morning trying to communicate with them. Every time I pointed out shoddy workmanship, the roofer was reluctant to correct. After the shingling started, I told them to use ladder blockers with their ladders to avoid bending over the shingle overhangs; they refused. They worked right up to sundown, not leaving enough time to clean up, so they left a huge mess on my driveway. I had to have them re-do several peak caps, as the roofer had left nails standing up, securing cap beneath. Poor workmanship and a constant challenge is what I got with this job. They have no business being in this business!!!

It was amazing. There was an issue, and they came out to take care of it in the middle of a storm.

Marc (the owner) came out to do the estimate, and was on time, professional, and friendly. He was very specific in what they would do, and made sure I understood the exact details of the proposed contract. The contract he brought for my review was not the best written contract however! I spent a couple of hours reviewing what it said, and rewriting portions of it to reflect what I thought it should say, relative to the work proposed. Marc was very flexible in dealing with me on this. This was not the cheapest bid. Once we decided to go with Top Roofing (based on a friends' recommendation and review, and our own investigation and review), we arranged to have the work performed. When we called back, Marc told us he would send out his partner to work with us (Lee). Lee came out to meet us and work out the specifics with the rewritten contract. The work was performed on time and under schedule, and the crew was very professional in their actions. We had one small confusion in the contract: Lee signed up to lay two layers of 30 pound paper down instead of one layer of 30 pound paper (code for Redondo Beach is 30 pounds total). I had talked with Marc about the extra protection - it was a concern of mine! Lee assured me he would honor the contract, and they did, in fact, lay down two layers of 30 pound paper, without any argument or hiccup! They completed the work ahead of schedule, and did a beautiful job. The inspector had them come back once to 'fortify' an area near a skylight, but they accomplished that within a day, to the inspectors satisfaction. It hasn't rained here since the work was completed, so I don't know that our home is water-tight now, but I'm very confident it is! I was very pleased with the communication between us and both Marc and Lee. This experience improves my view of contractors (in general) a lot! I would work with them again in a heartbeat!! They're work was exemplary!!!

Top Roofing was very quick to respond to my request for an estimate. I was very impressed that one of the owners Ron came to our home to evaluated our needs. He was very knowledgeable and helpful and gave us a quote that was very favorably priced. We,chose,the coating with the ten year service expectancy though it was $300 more in price than the five year coating. We wanted to get this done soon before any rain possibilities. He said his crew could do the job within a couple of days. We signed the contract and he said this guys could start the very next day if we wished and we were very pleased they could get on it right away. They followed through just as they promised. Two roofers including one of his foremen Jaime came early the next day with Ron and he personally showed,them what was to be done so there would be no misunderstandings. They cooperated,with my wanting to see the job at certain stages and would call me so I could inspect the work to make sure it proceeded as agreed. They worked long and hard and well and completed the project in one day. They were responsive to my suggestions and did a beautiful job. The roofing they coated was over eight years old and the family room roof was even much older. Two thirds of our roofing was worked on. The front third is Tile. Ron came to inspect the finished job.which I thought was excellent and he even washed our solar panels for us which was a great unexpected bonus. This company was so reliable, prompt And did excellent work at a very favorable price. I happily recommend them without any reservation What's so ever for their professionalism , outstanding work and customer relations.

We was looking for a roofing company to repair / replace our home roof. We got the quote from 6 companies. We have found one particular company called " TOP ROOFING". We spoke with sale rep. name " RON" . He give us very much details about what they going to do and answer all the questions we have asked. Even so the price they quote for still not as low as we would like to; but it is decent compare with other company that I got quote for. There was no surprise of additional cost as they mentions. Overall we are very disappointed with the work performed by Top Roofing and would never choose to go with them again. We engaged Top Roofing to install flashing on our house and saw that they had good reviews. Our agreement states that they would "Seal along edge of shingle roof and house wall." Before we signed, we asked them to clarify the work that would be performed. We wanted to know if they would just seal a sheet of metal to the top of the shingles because we were told by other roofing contractors that it could be done cheaply but it wasn?t a long-term solution (as the sealant will eventually wear down) and so we said we were willing to pay more because we did not want that. They told us they would ?remove a portion of the edge shingles only, about a foot in. Install the metal flashing, and install new replacement shingles.? After receiving clarification on the work, we signed the agreement. Therefore, it was a huge surprise to see that when the work was done, Top Roofing had affixed the flashing to the top of the shingles using sealant. They say a photo is worth a thousand words ? see the photo on my Yelp! review. Fortunately, once we explained how unhappy we were with the job performed Top Roofing agreed that we did not have to pay for that work (we had them do a few other things and paid for that). When we mentioned that some of the metal sheeting that was on the roof shingles was already pulling away from the sealant ? Top Roofing said they could come out to look at it again to see if they could help with it. However, we declined as we are going to have another roofing contractor re-do the work anyways (as the work performed was not what we wanted and we would never have proceeded if we knew that this is what we would have received). So at least they were very nice about dealing with our complaint; however, we are still disappointed at the work that was performed.

I was very pleased with all aspects of the work. Company made two visits to my home to evaluate the work, including a visit so that I could walk through the project with Ron Karu, one of the owners. Bid was extremely competitive compared to two other companies (both on Angie's List) who estimated the job. Company maintained communications with me throughout the project, including daily phone calls as to progress. Site was left clean of all debris. I would recommend this company to anyone with residential roofing needs.

I reviewed Top Roofing positively after they completed work last year. Unfortunately, you never understand the whole picture until something goes wrong. What went wrong for me was the heavy rains we had in LA a few weeks ago. My gutters overflowed tremendously, causing us to set-up buckets around the house and fixed minor type damage. I had a handyman come take a quick look after the rain and the only gutter he could safely get to was right off the garage in front of my house. He proceeded to take a out two handfuls of nails that had clogged that gutter. I think I can rightly assume that the other gutters have the same issue. Mark's guys clearly swept their extra debris into my gutters instead of cleaning their workplace properly. Mark came off as a very nice guy so when I called him to report the issue I figured he'd be responsive. Instead, he gave me the runaround, lied about sending up someone to check the gutters, and then flat-out refused to answer further inquiries into the situation. Considering the initial expense, and the fact that this was an easy fix (just get someone up there to clean the gutters that your workers clearly clogged, out of shear laziness), I have to now very much question his integrity, professionalism, and most importantly, the warranty he gave on the roof. If he is unwilling to fix a small matter then what happens if a major one develops? 15 minutes after I posted this review I was contact by Mark and he sent a guy up to fix the problem. His guy found a lot more nails. Hopefully everything is fine now.

All they did was to give me an estimate for replacing the roof and blow the leaves off the roof and out of the gutters. Since my son had recently cleaned out the gutters, this was really unnecessary. However, while they were up on the roof, they managed to break and misplace even more tiles! A total waste of money.

He was very knowledgebal and personalable and was a very positive experience in speaking with him. I would definately recommend them to others.

Checked roof for loose shingles, replaced some that were missing. I provided the shingles. I assume it was fine, for what I can see, since I have not gotten on the roof to check. The technician was friendly and seemed knowledgeable. The worker was pleasant and appeared to know what he was doing.

Terrific. Lee came out within a day and we discussed the state of my roof. Lee was very professional and polite. He went over the roof extensively, pointing out where there were problems and what my options were. I elected to have the existing roof covered with a new roof. Lee's men came out within a couple of days and completed the work in about a day and half. Having all the workmen tramping around on the roof caused a very minor crack in the plaster in my dining room ceiling. Lee agreed to knock $100 off the cost of the job, which I agreed was fair compensation.

Marc and team did a great job. They worked around my timeframe, performed the job quickly, and the roof looks great. I couldn't have asked for anything else.

Arrived in good time. Very nice roofer, professional. Showed me pictures of the roof to show what was done. I appreciated that.

I was impressed with the professionalism of the personnel. In the event that it was necessary to change the schedule, I was kept informed. From start to finish the work went quickly and smoothly. There was slight damage to two rose bushes caused by men going up and down a ladder to the roof. The owner gave me a generous credit for the damage. I was very satisfied.

I got estimates from 5 roofing companies. I was not comfortable with the lowest bid because the guy was not very professional, he did not write up his bid and just wrote the price on his business card. This company was the next lowest price and Marc Ravid was very knowledgeable and professional. He did push for a commitment and a deposit which none of the others did. The actual start date was 6 weeks after the estimate but that was because I was having an addition built and we were not ready for the roof until then. This was understood by all parties. The roofing crew arrived exactly on time and got immediately to work. They removed the old composite roof down to the plywood, installed 5 new passive attic vents and then completed the entire job, both buildings, in one long day. They spray painted all the new metal flashing and the vents in a matching color. They cleaned up the yard around the house and garage and hauled all the considerable debris away in their large truck. They honored the Angie's List coupon so I was able to deduct 5% off the total bill. There were no surprises and the job was done as smoothly as I could hope. I would recommend this company.

Some of the problems were my fault. I bought a coupon on Angie's List for shingle repair, and when they got here, they said the coupon excluded old houses with steep roofs. They did clean my eaves, though, and my husband said they were nice. They then did an estimate for replacing the roof that that was $4000 more than the highest estimate I've received so far. Yeah, I should have double-checked the coupon. Here's how to play this differently next time: if a coupon buyer messes up, explain that you don't have the right ladders and safety equipment for such a steep roof with you (perfectly reasonable) and clean the eaves, then fix the one or two shingles that are WITHIN REACH of the gutters you are cleaning. That suggests to me you take pride in your work and aren't just trying to milk money out of me. Instead...the person who came cleaned gutters and pretended not to see the one or two shingles right in front of him that could easily be fixed while he's up there with a little extra sweat. That conduct just blows the opportunity to prove to me that they were worth $$$$$ more than every other roofer we have talked to. It suggests endless contract niggling and a lack of commitment to excellent work for its own sake--and I don't have time for endless contract niggling and contractors who let little details go because they haven't been paid to the dime for every little thing they do.

we bought an Angies List Big Deal but they called me very soon after to let me know they didn't service my area.

They came over and inspected and could not do much for the roof since it was pretty rough. I was expecting a little bit more either a refund or something since they could not even walk on the roof. They gave us an estimate but it was high so we are looking around. They could not get on the roof because our tiles are weak and could break. They said if I bought the new roof from them they would reimburse us. Overall they were ok. I understand they could not get on the roof. I did not ask for a partial refund. He cleaned part of a gutter but it did not look like much. They were very timely.

The guys got up and walked around on my roof. They replaced one vent and that was it. I feel like about $50.00 of work was done and $200.00. This was not a good Big Deal.
