I made a good choice choosing Solar Art to do the job. The job was perfect, no bubbles or uncovered areas. Very friendly and clean, would hire again if I need any tinting services.

This is a great company. Paul came out quickly and gave me the best price. I had been comparing and he was by far the most reasonable. The quality was first class. He answered all of my questions promptly and the installers came out and did the job quickly and professionally. I feel that I could have paid literally 4 times as much with another company and the service wouldn't have been any better than Solar Art. They use the same great products (3M) and I am very happy with the results. I recommend them highly.

It went extremely well. The woman on the phone, I think her name was Michele, and she was extremely polite. I had to change the appointment several times and she was very accommodating. We finally made the final appointment for Friday, June 22nd between 9:00-10:00am. Jeremy, the installer rang the door bell around 9:25am. I asked him to take off his shoes and he said no problem. He began working and was at the house for about 2 hours. I noticed some bubbling on the tint, and he immediately wiped the windows to flatten out the bubbling. I am very happy with the work, and he cleaned up before he left. I would definitely use this company again. Very Pleased!

They were extremely polite on the phone and had someone come out within 48 hours to look at my problem and give me an estimate. The gentleman who came out on Friday was very knowledgable and discovered that we had window tinting on the windows but it was very old. As we lived here 22 years, it was prior to our moving in. He would not let us order until we tried out the various tints at night (he left samples). I put in the order on Monday and they came on Thursday to install. The installer was very professional and again he discovered a problem with the bay window (it was coming loose at the top) and gave me info as to who to contact to repair the window. I was very happy with the results and with the entire experience.

I CAME IN THE MORNING THAT I MADE THE APPOINTMENT. THEY IMMEDIATELY HAD ME PARK MY VEHICLE IN THE FACILITY TO START THE SERVICE. THREE HOURS LATER IT WAS COMPLETE. OUTSTANDING AND QUALITY JOB, EXCELLENT SERVICE. IT LOOKS LIKE IT WAS ORIGINALY DONE AT THE FACTORY. THE PARKING LOT IS SMALL WITH ALL THE BUSINESES IN THE AREA. AS SUCH, I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU MAKE YOUR APPOINTMENT IN THE MORNING TO AVOID ANY PARKING PROBLEMS IN THE AFTERNOON.

The man who did the estimate was quick, provided me with options for what I was trying to achieve. The process was painless, the estimate accurate and the installation date and time were selected. The installer was 30min late due to traffic which is understandable in LA but then completed the job well within the original time estimate. The the installer was very professional, cleaned up after he completed the install, and the result was even better than I had anticipated. I have already recommended this complany to 2 other friends.

First summer in new house with no a/c. I knew the west facing floor to ceiling windows and kitchen windows would generate a lot of heat but it was more brutal than I imagined. A friend, weary from my complaining, suggested I get them tinted (similar to getting automobile windows tinted). I had visions of overly dark windows with a purple cast and weird striations. Poked around the internet to learn about window tinting and found a window product made by HuperOptik that is a ceramic based, 100% metal free, dye free material guaranteed to never degenerate. It is also a much more expensive product than traditional film but after reading up on it, I was pretty sure this was what I wanted. Solar Art is on Angie's List but because of some wildly mixed reviews I decided to go with another company, who came out unprepared and gave what turned out to be a very high estimate. Unhappy with their lack of professionalism I called Solar Art. From the first phone call to set up the estimator to the last where they made sure I had signed all the warranty paperwork, Solar Art was great to work with. They sent an estimator out who came prepared with all the materials I had asked for and then some. The estimator had been with the company for a lot of years and really knew his stuff and gave me some good advice which I was grateful for and the estimate turned out to be $500 less than the first company and they gave the 10% Angie's discount on top of that. He brought 3 samples of various HuperOptik tints: 1 extremely clear, 1 with a little tint (hardly noticeable) and 1 that had tint like polarized sunglasses. He applied them to the windows to let me see the effect over a few days to get a sense of each tint. The great advice: I really wanted the clearest (lightest) tint -- did not want to obstruct the mountain view at all -- but he did mention that there were a lot of customers who had chosen the lightest based on my similar wants/needs and were happy with the job, etc. -- but there was always this little sigh of "I probably could have gone one tint darker." That spoke volumes to me and I could see myself sighing similarly. Because my top need was to knock down the afternoon heat, I took his advice and went with the middle tint. Totally the right choice. The windows do not look tinted, the view is perfect. Note about the kitchen windows: the heat was even hotter in the kitchen and I decided to go for the darkest tint for those windows -- again not dark, still clear but knocking down the heat even more. They can't really say how many degrees less but I do notice a difference on that side of the house. As for the rest of Solar Art's job: they came out to install the materials, did a neat and clean job, worked quickly and efficiently. As I left for work, I got updates on the progress of the work and again when they were done. I felt like I had been treated like an important customer with all the personal attention and follow up, and and I'm very happy with their work, the product I chose and the entire experience. Side Notes: 1) not only does HuperOptik guarantee their product but Solar Art guarantees their work as well. 2) Look into information about tax breaks in 2008 and 2009 for installing energy efficient measures (like tinting windows).

Solar Art characterizes themselves as a high-end, high-quality window tinting service, with houses featured in Architectural Digest. My experience with them, however, was frustrating. We got off to a good start with Bob coming out to do an estimate. I received it in a timely manner -- but then waited three weeks for the back and forth on when they could do the job, if they had the right material for each window I selected and if we could agree on a price. I was prepared to have them do the work -- even though they were more expensive than two other vendors -- simply because of their professional website, documentation, and perceived reputation. I did not pull the trigger because they just ended up not being responsive enough -- and I feared that I would not get good service once they actually came out to do the job. In fact, I have two calls into them now that just haven't been returned. I had gone to great efforts to detail the four different types of tinting I wanted on various windows throughout the house -- but when it came time to pull the trigger, they weren't sure which tints went on which windows and wanted to talk through what goes where. I have had great success with a number of Angie's List clients -- I wish I could say the same for these guys. I just felt I was doing a lot of work to get THEIR business, when they kept pitching me on how good their customer service is, and what a tight operation they run. A really odd experience. I'd look for another vendor.

I read about Solar Art in a newspaper article about available federal tax credits for installing tinted window film to reduce energy costs. I have several windows that let in a lot of light and heat-it fades upholstery and makes the house hot. Bob Mason came out to give me an estimate. He was courteous and professional. The estimate seemed about right in price but I was disappointed to find out that the tax credit only applied to the darkest shades of window film. My wife did not like the very dark tints so we ended up with a product that would provide some heat shielding, and significant UV/fading protection-but that still let in significant light and let our backyard views show through. Scheduling was easy and the workers were efficient. The only thing keeping me from rating the service and product higher was that I don't think the window film makes a very big impact on reducing heat.

They were punctual and courteous. They gave a good estimate and the work was done on time and at estimated price. The tinting has reduced the heat in the rooms and kept the furniture from fading. I would highly recommend them. They came back and replaced several films in the bay windows two years later.

I spoke with the owner and made an appointment for the following week. When I drove down on that day I found a very crowded parking lot with no where to park my car (several other businesses use this lot). So as I was circling the neighborhood to find something I gave the owner a call. He had no idea who I was as he had no record of our appointment and consequently had no time for my car then. He didn't seem too apologetic or overly interested in getting my business back. Needless to say I wasn't real happy and had the work done by someone else.

George Ricciardi, the owner of the company, is great. I've used his company twice now and both times he and his team showed up as scheduled, was professional, and steered me in the right direction in terms of the best solution for my needs. He could have sold me more expensive window covering products but didn't and told me why I didn't need it. I'd definitely recommend him and use him again.
