One of the worst experiences I have ever had. I was assigned to Shapiro through my home warranty. Simon came out and assessed the refrigerator. and ordered a part. That took over 8 weeks for him to come back. Both times he moved the refrigerator, pretty standard that the refrigerator is surrounded by cabinets. It was 45 days later I realized that the items in the freezer were not staying frozen. This was not covered by a warranty of any kind and I had to pay for another service fee. They reassigned him to come out and at this visit he says he cannot move the refrigerator but would come back. About a week later I receive a letter that he cannot access the refrigerator, so it is not covered. I called him to tell him that is not right, you said you were coming back. He was a jerk. very rude and unhelpful. Do not use this company. He will take advantage of you and not fix your problem.

THEY ARE UNPROFESSIONAL. They were supposed to call us within 24 hours of claim being filed and they still had not contacted us several days later. I left a message and received a return message which was very difficult to understand due to the extremely heavy accent. Called back again and set up appointment time with gentlemen who was extremely hard to understand due to heavy accent. They were scheduled to arrive between 9 and 1 and would call when they were on their way. When we called them at noon to see when they were coming the rude man said he had come, knocked on door then left because no one answered. We said that he was supposed to call to tell us he was on his way and he said "I no call so too bad". We have a locked gate on our property and there is no way he could have just knocked on our door. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, they are unprofessional and rude.

After he replaced the part that was sparking - I asked him to take apart the microwave door as there were drips stuck between the two pieces of glass. I offered to pay him for the extra time. His reply was that why would I want to do that? It's just going to happen again. A month later I had another company/repair person here to fix something else. I asked him if he could take apart the microwave oven. He said sure, cleaned it out, put it back together and I have not had any more drips stuck inside for more than four months.
Description of Work: My home warranty sent out Shapiro to repair my microwave as it was sparking. (My cost was my deductible with home warranty company - $60) It was repaired and that was good.

On September 5, 2012 we called American Home Shield for service on our Kitchen Aid Oven and they assigned Shapiro Appliance Service. On September 6, 2012 Mr. Simon Shakiro called to schedule an appointment for today Monday, September 10, 2012. When no one arrived we called Shapiro Appliance and Mr. Shakiro answered the phone. He stated that he never called us, never scheduled an appointment, and didn't know why we were calling him. Mr. Shakiro became very belligerent and confrontational. This is very unprofessional behavior and unacceptable. We will never use this company again.
Description of Work: Exhaust fan on our Kitchen Aid Double Oven has become very noisy. Service was not provided. Please see below.

There was no charge, because it was under warranty. They were just amazing. They were very friendly. They showed us what they were doing and why they were doing it. They opened up the washing machine and cleaned everything up. They immediately saw that the pump was leaking. They made sure that everything was in proper order, and they replaced the pump. I would use them again. They were friendly and informative. Their communication skills were excellent.
Description of Work: The pump on the washing machine started spewing water everywhere. They repaired it.

SIMON CAME TO THE HOUSE TO LOOK AT REFRIGERATOR AND ASSESSED THE COMPRESSOR AS THE PROBLEM. HE WAS EXTREMELY RUDE, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, AND CARELESS. HE TOLD US THAT IT WOULD TAKE FIVE DAYS BEFORE WE WOULD HAVE OUR REFRIGERATOR FIXED. WE ASKED FOR ADVICE ON WHAT TO DO IN THE MEANTIME AND HE RUDELY SAID, "YOU HAVE NEIGHBORS DON'T YOU? USE THEM, OR YOU COULD BECOME A VEGETARIAN AND EAT VEGETABLES THAT DON'T HAVE TO BE PUT IN THE FRIDGE". HIS ASSESSMENT WAS INCORRECT. HE WAS THE WORST SERVICE PERSON I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH.
