Overall, very happy with the service. They came and provided a free estimate. It was on par with others I had received. Due to their good reputation here on Angie's List I hired them. Drew was very easy to work with on the phone to organize everything ahead of time. They came punctually, and completed the work in one day. So far, after a month, the gate has been working perfectly. Drew also attempted to fix my front gate remote-opener, but unfortunately was not able to do so because of interference from DSL on the line. He did follow up with the company who manufactured the gate opener for me, and got me a diagram of what needed to be done. I ended up hiring another contractor to finish that (complicated) job. Overall, I am very happy with their work and follow-up and would use them again without hesitation.

As always their technician was punctual and polite. He was able to to find the problem, fix it, and actually make the gates work better than they had before.

when I called, I spoke with Tamir. He promptly came over. I showed him the problems I was having, I was a bit desperate to have my gate lock properly as other business's were too busy to take the call. He graciously made the repairs, had a very caring professionalism about himself and did above and beyond the quality of service I would have expected. I with out hesitation will most definitely call him again and recommend him to everyone!!!

They gave me the quote on April 15th. The system is like where somebody can push a button from outside the gate and then it connects to your phone and your phone rings. It then opens the gate after you accept the ring. It includes wiring to the telephone line, the transformer and the strike. The strike is a thing that goes inside the actual latch on the gate. I liked them very much. They were very responsive. The price that they charged was competitive.

While they were probably not the cheapest, they were responsive, punctual and HONEST. After replacing the control circuitry, we were still having problems with our gate opener. Pacific promptly returned the next day and replaced the capacitor on the motor. After this service call, THEY called me and admitted that they might not have needed to replace the motor control circuit. After testing the old unit at their office, they found that the old controller was working fine and offered to put it back and refund the difference. In the end we decided to keep the new motor controller along with its 4 year warranty. To sum up, we were very happy with their service and we would recommend them to others.

Would have given all A's except for attempting to gouge me for the cost of the new belt. I had bought a new belt at Koontz Hardware the day before for $6.99. This repairman said that belt was OK but I should have the manufacturers belt for $90.00!! This was for the black rubber belt ONLY - NOT LABOR. When I complained, he lowered the price to $20.00 (still very high but better than $90.00.) The entire charge was a whopping $635.00.

The door is original to the house from 1957. They replaced a side piece on the door where the spring attaches. The original one was too rotted. They also balanced the door on both sides and made necessary adjustments. The door works way better than before the repair. We are very pleased with the work they did. Very clean, courteous and professional. The even took the old side piece with them so we didn't have to worry about how to get rid of it.

Their price was very competitive. They offered good advice on which equipment to choose for my gate (the one I replaced was not of very good quality, and failed before it's time). They performed the job in a professional and timely manner. My initial experience was very good. Their follow up was even better. I had some questions about how the photo eye was setup, and Drew carefully and patiently explained why they had done what they did, but offered to change it if I wanted. A year later, I had a problem -- the weld fastening the gate arm to the gate failed. Drew came out himself within a business day and fixed it free of charge, and even adjusted and checked a few other things I had not asked him to look at. Of course I wish the weld had not failed in the first place, but overall, my experience with this company has been excellent. Unlike the company that installed my previous opener, they stand behind their products and services.

They really blew me away during the process. The first time they came out to install the frame, the realized it wasn't correct, so they quickly fixed it and came back to re-install. The gate wasn't low enough, however, for my dogs and wasn't "escape proof" all due to the unevenness of the slope in my driveway. One side was very low but the other wasn't. Drew knew this was my main issue and the main reason we even wanted to switch out the gate - so they brainstormed and came up with a bunch of different solutions for me that involved keeping the gate but installing some brushes or frames that would come down so the dogs couldn't get out. Finally they decided on their own that the best thing to do was to re-make the frame in an unconventional way (at no extra charge), install a better operator for the automatic door (that could slant somewhat so the door would open at a slant (at no extra charge). So they started from scratch again - because they wanted it to look as good as possible - instead of installing some alternatives that would have worked but wouldn't have been as nice looking. While it took a little longer, they remade the frame and did the work incredibly quickly to make up for the lost time. I was so impressed with their hard work and was very impressed that they really wanted to do a great job and came up with a solution for the difficult job on their own. They re-did the work with no questions asked and no debate and were always incredibly service oriented ,making sure we were happy with the work. I was incredibly impressed with their customer service and their drive to get the job done right. Another provider might have "cheated" a bit - and they could have tried to do it the easy way - but they weren't satisfied with that and kept trying until it was perfect. And perfect it is! They were more expensive than other bids, but honestly were excellent, and I don't regret a penny of it.

Our HOA obtained three bids for the work. Drew's price fell in the middle, but his reputation is excellent and we couldn't be happier with the result. His communication skills are excellent. He is able to think critically, analyze problems and come up with solutions (he was able to repair our intercom for a nominal fee rather than replace the whole system as another technician wanted to do). He was also very patient and understanding when the HOA had a misunderstanding with one of its members over payment.

I spent $2000 on that job. They were very responsive, followed up and did a good job. They also showed up on time.

Gate motor had just been repaired, upgraded and parts replaced three months prior by another company at a cost of $600. Stopped working completely one day and owner of company did not show up to fix it. In the meantime, I also had a problem with my garage door motor and checked out a contractor to repair it on Angie's List. That is where I discovered Pacific Garage Doors & "Gates". Angie's List does not have a "Gate" category. For the two plus years I have been having problems with my gate, Angie's List Support has referred me to fence contractors who were not able to help. Drew and Tom at Pacific Garage Doors & Gates have also suggested adding that category. I talked to Drew first about the problem and that the motor probably just needed adjusting because of the recent upgrades. But the recent hurricane strength winds forced the gate open and broke the arm/brackets which needed to be sautered back in place. He sent Tom who inspected the damage as well as everything in the control board box and suggested a complete motor replacement was the best way to go. I could keep putting more money into repairing but eventually it would have to be replaced. I have been having problems with the entire gate and motor for years. so I told Tom to go ahead. He came back in a couple of days with the new motor and all the material needed to not only replace but to add additional hardware to make sure the gate would not over swing and break the motor arm again. I am thrilled that I finally have an operational gate installed by professional, reliable, ethical contractors. Knowing of them previously would have saved me so much grief.

I called them and they came out within an hour or an hour and a half. I think their price is pretty standard and they were very good.

Others would not go out to provide a free estimate unless I committed to the work in advance. Pacific gave me a free estimate, worked with me on the price, and got the job done quickly. Would recommend them again.

The person who answered the phone was knowledgeable--sadly that's usually not the case any more! They were prompt and did the work on time and on budget, even suggesting options that were cheaper. Everyone was a pleasure to deal with. We've tried 5 or 6 gate repair companies to varying degrees of success--these guys were the best.

I called. The estimated an arrival time. They arrived midway through the time window. They promptly diagnosed the problem and quickly fixed it.

Same-day service: spoke with Drew in the morning; Tal and Sean came out within the time window Drew provided and they were both professional and knowledgeable. The repair was straightforward and quick, and they provided advice on maintenance and answered all my questions about downstream options (e.g., replacing the lift-up door with a roll-up). They also provided feedback on the door condition and how to deal with potential problems in the future. Well done, guys!

Over a year later I am 100% impressed and satisfied with the work done. I get compliments on my gate from friends and family members. The gate works very well and the high level of craftsmanship is very obvious. Whenever there is a problem with the automatic driveway gate (rarely, but it has happened occasionally when a fuse has blown), Tom and/or Drew come out to my house very promptly and correct the problem. They are great, professional guys and I am very happy with their service.

We were going out in the morning and discovered that the garage door had broken. We could not get the cars out of the garage and were basically stuck. I looked at Angie's List and called Pacific as they had a good rating and were in our neighborhood. Drew answered the phone promptly at 9:00 am. A representative from Pacific was at our house within two hours and gave us an estimate which seemed reasonable. They completed the work quickly and professionally. They were courteous and gave us good general information and did not pressure us into buying anything we did not need.

Drew came and examined the electric motor on our entry gate after it had stopped functioning. He determined that it had tripped itself and needed to be reset and that the gate needed to be adjusted because it was slamming closed and causing the motor to trip. We asked him to replace the chain because it was rusty. He was honest and told us that it wasn't necessary to do so, but would do it for aesthetics, if that's what we wanted.

I called Pacific Garage Doors & Gates on Oct. 8, 2009. My previous garage door opener had just quit working. Within a few hours Yoni came out to see if it could be repaired, which it couldn't. So I asked him to install a new one. We scheduled the installation for the next morning. Yoni showed up promptly both times. Extremely courteous, pleasant and knowledgeable. I'm very satisfied and would definitely call them again.

Drew and his crew did a good job. The driveway gate looks good and the opener works well. Their price was fair. Drew answered all my questions and he was professional.

From Angie's List reviews I called three local companies. Drew at Pacific Garage Doors offered the best price for the same one-half horsepower opener offered by the other two companies. He also arranged to have it installed the next morning. Yoni arrived right on time, with a three-quarter horsepower opener. Since they had no more one-half horsepower openers in stock, they would install the upgraded model at the same price. Yoni was a model of knowledge and efficiency, and he was very pleasant. He completed the work quickly and thoroughly, demonstrated the opener and programmed the cars. Yoni and Drew were so pleasant to work with, I had Yoni return two days later to replace the weatherstripping on our garage door ($185).
