Tom was professional on the phone, however, when I initially called, he did not identify himself or his company. He told me he was with a customer at the time so I excused him. That was a little awkward, but I found him to be personable and reasonable from that point on. From the get go, I was made to assume that this company did not give free estimates on repairs. So I felt I had to be the one to make sure that there was ballpark price which would not be deviated from too much once his employee got to my place to repair the garage door. His employee, Yanni, was on time and courteous. The job took approximately 1.5 to 2 hrs from start to finish. Our garage doors (three single doors) are 20 yrs old but in reasonably good condition. During the course of the repair, one of the wheels on the track broke and Yanni informed me that he did not have a replacement wheel with him. At the end of the service, he informed me that it would cost $95 for him to come back out again and replace the wheel. I told him, "it broke while you were fixing it, isn't it your responsibility to fix it without charge to me?". To which he replied, "you have to understand, the wheels are old" and in essence not in the best condition. If that were the case, why didn't any other wheels break? I was a little peeved and was tempted to call Tom to rectify this, but let it go. Yanni, showed me how to replace the wheel and informed me that it would range from $5-15 at Home Depot. The whole reason to call someone to fix the garage door, was so that I would not have to. This is the reason I gave the job an overall "B" grade - not very accommodating. My philosophy: "admit to your mistake and when possible fix it" (or at least attempt to). Addendum 4/2/11 Tom, called me back the same day I complained about the wheel being broken. He sent his repair man out within the next few days to fix it and informed me that he would replace the broken wheel free of charge. Tom was courteous and professional and I have upgraded my review as a result to an "A" grading.

Pacific sent their man over within four hours of my contacting them. He suggested that he first of all do maintenance work on both of doors (had not been looked at in about five years). During this procedure he found that the problem door's motor had a small crack in it, which he suggested was the probable cause of the jerkiness. He got it working, and both doors opened and shut very quietly and smoothly. About a week following his visit, as he suggested might happen, the problem door is now back to it's old ways. I will be contacting Pacific again to have the faulty motor replaced. An overall very professional and pleasant experience. Would recommend without hesitation.

If you need a garage door these are the guys to call. Tom is fantastic. He came when he said he would for an estimate (he even answered some questions about my gate and tried to help). He game me the estimate when he said he would. He followed up with samples when he said he would. The work was done when he said it would. The work by his crew was professional and they cleaned up and took care of everything. A completely positive experience. I wish all service people were as good as these guys. Highly recommended.

They did a good job. They were a little price,. They were courteous, professional and did what I wanted then to do. I had different people come out each time. They did a good job.

Came to my house within a few hours of my call on a Saturday. No extra charge for Saturday service, so I didn't have to lose any time from work. Problem was a simple fix, so the service call charge was $75. I decided to purchase an extra remote control and have it programmed. Cost was $35. Tom was very easy to work with, answered my questions and didn't try to sell me equipment I didn't need. In the future, if I need to replace the garage door opener or gate operator, I will call them back.

Overall, it was a great experience. We described our needs and they were met completely. I am totally satisfied with this experience and would recommend this company without hesitation.

Went very well. Pacific made two trips to the property. After the first trip they provided me with an estimate for the charges. Implemented the new circuit board one week later. It went so well that my condo HOA plans on using Pacific for all its gate needs going forward.

Drew came out and was the first service guy that actually seemed to use a real engineering approach to fixing the problem. Having a bit of engineering background myself, he really knew what he was doing. The OTHER thing that I thought was REALLY cool, was that (like other service people we called) he was willing to try different components to see what worked (although he nailed it on the second try - the first try he thought he was going to be able to fix it with an adjustment), and if the component didn't fix the problem was willing to take it back. Other service people had ME pay for the components whether they worked or not. He (and his company) are real pros, and I would recommend them to ANYONE. Their price was reasonable, and he was punctual, polite, and respectful. He'll get all my work.

They replaced the garage door, which works great. Pacific twice tried to fix the threshold, but both times the fix did not work. The threshold they installed still allowed water to seep through to the garage. Normally, this would have frustrated me, but they took full responsibility without my prodding. They said the problem was beyond what they could do and did not charge me for their efforts to fix the threshold. They referred me to a contractor who they trusted, who could fix the problem. In sum, Pacific got back to me quickly each time I called, showed up on time, were very professional, and were were very fair when the repair became a bigger problem than anyone anticipated. There were no hassles even when things went wrong. I'd hire them again.

We wanted to have a wooden gate made for our driveway. We searched around and met with half a dozen different Los Angeles based companies that make the type of wooden gate we were interested in. The companies ranged from individuals that make wooden gates to reputable well known gate companies. Luckily for us we found Pacific Garage Door and Gates at the last minute. We got a good feeling and a good deal right away from Pacific Gates. They gave us the best price of all the estimates and were very nice and professional right from the start. There was no "hard sale" no pressure just a straight deal. We felt comfortable so we went for it. They set a time frame and started and finished on time. The gate is beautiful and works perfectly, it's exactly what we had discussed. We couldn't be happier with their service, professionalism and most importantly their craftsmanship.

These guys are pros. Great to deal with, punctual, thorough, and everything they did works great. They had to come back to make a minor adjustment, and did it no questions asked within a day or two. Highly recommended, I will always use them for garage, and gate equipment. Thanks guys.

I found Pacific Garage Doors and Gates on Angie's List so the review may not come as a complete surprise. Drew arrived on time for the estimate, looked at my design and came back to me with an drawing and estimate. We picked out a paint finish, gave a deposit and construction started the following week. Install took about 2 days. The gate is solid and very attractive and rebuildable. I'm very happy with their work.

Fantastic! I met with 4 gate providers and got estimates from all of them. These guys had the right approach for me. They listened carefully to what I wanted, why I wanted it and presented a straightforward approach to my driveway gate. The quote was competitive... close to at least one other quote I received...but it was the honest, practical, trustworthy, easy style they had that really made me know they were the right vendor. My gate is fantastic, they were there when they said they would be, and communicated with me regularly to keep me up to date.

After having terrible luck with the company that originally installed it in terms of follow up and service I found Pacific after doing a search on Angie?s List. I sent an email inquiry to them and Viviana was fantastic in follow up, being patient with me while I made sure the other company wasn?t going to help me. When I finally called her to set up an appointment she was professional and thorough and set up an appointment for the very next day. Last Friday the 10th was the day of the appointment and Yonni showed up promptly and was so professional and thorough. I needed new cement and the whole gate to be realigned. I told Yonni my house was going to be painted the following Monday (tomorrow) and he said he would work on the weekend! Yesterday and today right on time Yonni and the team showed up and were thorough, professional and fast. How wonderful it was to go from making an appointment on Thursday to having the gate fixed on Sunday! Although pricey, I am really happy with the work and the fact that the poor guy worked all weekend so that I could have the gate fixed before painters were to paint it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED A+++++!

Fantastic! On time, professional and they did it right the 1st time!

The owner showed up to look at our 3 car garage door openings. The garage is old and so the openings weren't straight. The garage has a wall dividing the stalls which was built at an angle and running right up to one of the door openings. The owner (Drew) instructed that I needed to cut the wall 6 inches back and cut out 2ft x 2ft at the top. The techs showed up exactly when Drew said they would. They took 2 days to complete the job rather than the initial 3 day estimate which was best. The techs (Edgar & Art) were very knowledgeable, methodic, and friendly too. They installed the doors and even applied the luan on the openings for an integrated and finished look. They hauled away the one garage door we had. I'm very pleased with the quiet and smooth operation of our doors.

Strictly routine, which in home contracting is about as good as it can get. Drew Dagan came out a couple weeks back, described in detail the necessary work, and provided a very quick estimate. I learned that this type of work had gotten a little more expensive since the last time I had it done, but his estimate was at the lower end of those that I received. His professionalism and emphasis on service, however, was at the top of the pack. He knew his trade, and answered questions thoroughly and articulately. On the installation day, he and his helper arrived on time, and did a thorough, professional job. Service and follow-up after the sale has been quite good as well. I would recommend Drew and his company without reservation.

Called late on Thursday. Made an appointment for Friday between 8 and 10 AM. Showed up on time. Two new springs were installed. Happy with the result.

Tal was on time for our morning appointment and inspected my inoperable 20 year old garage door opener. He recommended replacing it with a new Lift Master unit. He was able to do the job that afternoon. He expertly explained exactly what he was going to do and how the new unit works. He cleaned up and hauled away the old opener at the end of the job. This is the first time I used this company. I will use them again.

Came by on Friday to look at the door, but needed to replace the motor. They came the next day and did a great job. I had to ask for the second remote control, but otherwise they were great. They trusted me enough to have me pay by credit card over the phone a few hours later. They said they would be at the house between 1-3pm and arrived around 1:30.
