I had also called another well rated garage door service provider on Angies List...and the guy was really rude. You can research my reviews for that provider. Pacific Garage Doors & Gates did a great job! Arturo, the one doing the work, was there early and ready to go by the time I arrived. There was a minor hiccup because I couldn't get my old garage door opener control to open the door, but Arturo found a way to get the door open so he could do his work. My old garage opener actually worked fine, but it was so old it didn't have the "stop and reverse" safety features that the new openers have, and that's why I was replacing it. The new install went smoothly The new opener, even though it is the cheaper "chain" type opener is a lot quieter than the old opener. Arturo also got rid of the interior control for the old opener, as well as the wiring. He is coming back next week to fix the exterior emergency release (he drilled it out, with my approval, to gain access to the garage) and if there is anything to add to this review I will update it then. Overall, I think they (Arturo and Pacific Garage and Gate) did a great job, and if I need their services again, I won't hesitate to call.

After one year of being a Angie's list member, a need finally arrived for me to contact a contractor. I did the typical call around thing and received multiple offers. Drew, the salesman, was able to beat his competition's estimate by leaps and bounds (seriously). So much, I got nervous that I may have gone too cheap. Rest assured, I made the right choice with Pacific Garage Doors & Gates Inc. The install crew spent some serious time at my place, paying attention to the smallest of details. I was impressed how focused they were on their work and would not leave until I gave them my seal of approval. The next day, Alex came by to paint my gate a nice shiny glossy black. Again, Alex spent some serious time and insured that the gate was done right, THE FIRST TIME. BTW: Alex gave me the impression that he worked in a auto-body shop because his work was superb! Overall, I have had some pretty bad contractors before, but these folks were awesome! Thank you Shirley for greeting me ever so kindly over the phone. Thank you Drew, for taking your time to listen to my needs and concerns. And most of all, thank you install team and Alex. You provided a wonderful experience! BTW: Did I mention they have a limited warranty to top it all off!

Workers arrived on time and the install went smoothly. They made sure that it was working before leaving and that I was satisfied. They hauled away the old garage door and made sure that the area was cleaned up.

We hired Pacific Garage Doors & Gates Inc. based on the reviews on Angie's List and we were not disappointed! From the beginning of the project until the final follow-up phone call this is a professional and customer oriented company. Drew and the installers were punctual, efficient, neat and a pleasure to have around. We wanted a gate and air-conditioner enclosure made from engineered wood that would have the least amount of upkeep and long-life. The gate design included a double-sided design that would be as pleasing from the inside courtyard as the street entrance and a series of 3 windows that would allow light into the courtyard. We also changed out the existing garage door windows so match the opaque glass in the door. The enclosure for the air conditioner was uniquely designed so that complete access to the unit would available if needed, but completely hides the unit when closed. It is the same engineered wood material as the near-by entry gate. The electronic entry system is wonderful, providing us with the privacy we wanted. It is very easy to operate and looks great! We are so pleased with everything Pacific did and appreciate their patience and professionalism in dealing with customers. We would highly recommend this company - ask for Drew!!!

My previous company had serviced garage door since installation in 2005 but recently retired and closed business. I chose Pacific due to good ratings on Angie's List. MISTAKE! A total RIP-OFF! The worker walked in and immediately stated that the garage door needed bigger springs. Have never had any problem with springs. Only requested a service call to check and adjust the alignment since door was not closing completely by only an inch or two. He spent 5 minutes adjusting all the while talking about new springs and then said that he was finished and it would be $125. Double my previous company. I wrote a check and said I felt it was outrageous for 5 minutes of work. As he was leaving I asked for a receipt/invoice. He then decided it would be only $75. But refused to give a receipt. Asked for my email address and said company would send it. 3 days later --- still NO RECEIPT and no contact from company.

Wayyy to expensive. Quoted me $26,000 for 270' of fencing and a sliding gate. That's almost 100" a foot for a basic harizontal slat wood fence! Not sure who is falling for this but not me. Got several bids for half the price.

Everything went smoothly. They were out when they said they would be and we were shown the problem and he explained what would be done to correct the problem.

Despite being able to quote us on a more expensive rollup, Pacific was extremely professional and told us about constraints with our space right off the bat and did not try to upsell me. They were timely and courteous and I appreciate their good work and honest responses.

Did a great job. Not cheap, but very reliable.

The experience was seamless. The company provided an up front cost estimate over the phone and we scheduled and appointment the next day. All went according to plan with no surprises. I was very pleased.

The individual from Pacific came out to initially assess the problem. He was able to repair both units temporarily, but it became obvious that both parts would have to be replaced. Since the parts cost over $900.00, it was necessary to send them a 20% deposit before installation. Once the parts came in, Jim came to install them and advised me that Airphone doesn't make black and white receivers and that the order now covered both receivers, the one in the house, which is now color, as well as the one at the gate. Both of these are a big improvement on the cameras that were there for the past 15 years. Unfortunately, the button box was a dud and Jim had to come back today to install a functional unit with no additional charge. If I ever have problems with my gate, I will be happy to contact them again.

They were fantastic. They were professional, their price competitive (we bid with 3 companies), they stayed in constant communication about the quote and the schedule of the work. The day of the initial repair they finished so early (as they started early), my husband called me to say 'how come my gate is repaired?!' We have already had them design and bid an $11,000 new fence and gate at our commercial property. We are very happy with them, they are our vendor of choice for all gate and fence needs, We highly recommend them.

It went well. They came out the same day that I called, had the needed part in their truck and were able to make the repair during that first visit. The door has been working nicely since.

Our garage door was not working at all. They came out, evaluated the problem, gave me a price ahead of time, returned after the weekend and completed the job. They were professional, polite, got the job done and done well. Our garage door is working well.

The entry system on the apartment complex was old and starting to slow down. It was also difficult to plug in new numbers as tenants came and went. Lastly, the original installer (not Pacific Garage Doors) placed the entry system at waist height, so you would have to bend over in order to operate it. They recommended a system, gave a quote and came out exactly when they were supposed to be out here. They were professional and friendly. They took the time out to show me how to use the system and plug in numbers. The entry system is now at a height that anybody can comfortably use (the system is up a flight of stairs, so it wasn't at that height to accommodate the disabled). I also asked them to do routine maintenance on the garage door leading into the complex. The door was swinging too far open and hitting the motor box. I originally had someone else install it and every time he came out to do the maintenance it seemed as though I was inconveniencing him. The gentleman at Pacific Garage Doors checked out the gate, made minor adjustments and took the time to make sure everything was operating correctly. The gate now swings open perfectly with minimal noise.

With the purchase of our home several years ago, we inherited a wood gate on wheels that could only be pushed open. This gate was only used sparingly, primarily to take the garbage out. We did not park behind it. Each night we tightly packed two cars in the front driveway. After hearing about several car burglaries, and with the purchase of a larger vehicle we felt we needed to look into a new gate. Easily the most used investment since owning our home. Now both cars are securely parked behind the electronic gate each evening. Besides having this option, it added curb appeal to our home(Pacific matched the gate paint to that of our home). All of our neighbors have asked about it, and I?m 100% confident in providing them with Pacific?s business card. I?ve worked primarily with Drew, and couldn?t be more satisfied. Next day service, always friendly, and most important I trust him when I can?t be there. In the beginning: Drew came and listened to what we were looking to do with our old gate. His recommendations couldn?t have been better. He recommended a single swing electronic gate. They constructed the new gate in several weeks, and installed everything within one day. The difference from when I left that morning, until I arrived home was shocking. I couldn?t believe we had a function electronic gate ? my neighbors said lots of workers were out there working straight from Morning until evening. Now: Our gate was having issues on the cold mornings closing. So I called Drew on Saturday, Dec 22, and he told me he could be out Monday. I was surprised as I expected them to come out after the holiday. I was lucky, and Drew came out Monday afternoon - which was Christmas Eve. After trouble shooting the gate, Drew determined the issue, and showed me during his testing what exactly was wrong ? a simple issue with the batteries. Drew had batteries in his truck, and replaced them. The price? Well, we were just outside our warranty, so I expected to pay a service charge, along with the price of new batteries (bad timing to pay for repairs around the holidays). On the other hand, Drew remembered the install of the gate, and commented we must just be outside the warranty period, so he said this was a ?Christmas gift?. I was completely shocked, and I can honestly say that made my day. I?m sure Drew saved me a few hundred dollars that day. Living in LA, I never expected a ?Christmas Gift? like that from any company ? that kind of gesture is only a small town story. Maybe some of those business cards I passed around brought them some business! I?ll continue to recommend Pacific?s business to my friends/neighbors/other home buyers. If I buy a new home, a gate now is a must. I don?t know how we?d live without it. There is no doubt who I?d have install and service that gate. We?ve had a lot of work done on our home, and by far the service from Pacific has been the best. If you?re on the fence about a new gate, I say buy one. I?d go as far as providing the before/after pics on ours if you?re interested. I?ve actually send those pics to Pacific as well, so they could use our example to show others ? keep up the great service Pacific!!!

Drew was a great communicator and the guys arrived on time and were finished in the time given. They did a great job and I received a follow up call from Drew the next day to make sure all went well. Very happy and would recommend.

I selected Pacific from Angie's list recommendations and they came out same day for an evaluation. Despite it being the holidays they went out of their way to come and complete the install on the 24th of December. It was actually raining that day but they installed a cover so that they could weld and work on electrical. All in all they went out of their way to complete the job. Gates are complex mechanical systems and their have been some teething troubles but Pacific came back promptly to correct a problem with the gate and weld a new bracket on. All in all very professional, very experienced and they wil do whatever is necessary to get your system working.

I call Pacific Garage Doors this morning for an apppointment -- they were able to fit me in the same day. Josh from Pacific Garage Doors showed up early. He identified the problem, fixed it, and cleaned the driveway gate motor and equipment as well. The whole service took no more than 30 minutes -- I'd recommend this company to anyone who needed metal gates and fencing fixed!

The gate at the apartment building has had issues for the last few years. It runs smoothly for weeks and then gets stuck open or closed at the most inconvenient times. I've called several different companies throughout the years who have temporarily "fixed the issue" but time and time again we've had to revisit the same problem. As an owner, it's not only the cost but the time invested in search of a reliable company to resolve problems quickly and efficiently. At last, I've found a reliable and trustworthy company to rely on for my issues with the gate. After making the initial call to Pacific Garage Doors & Gates they responded quickly and came out to inspect my problem on 12/20. Jim was on time and most importantly extremely honest with his assessment of the gate. He pointed out specific issues which I had not noticed before. Now under inspection it was clear to me they needed to be addressed. He took the time to explain how the operator works and different options to resolve the issues. Giving me immediate, short term or long term options depending on how much I could afford. Having the options laid out I didn't feel pressured or sale pitched as I had in the past. The gate and operator were approximately 15 years old. Wear and tear, Causing it to break down and malfunction constantly. The parts were no longer available in CA and the service is only putting bandaids on the real issue. The chain had completely rusted, the brackets needed to be replaced, the rollers were barely doing their job as the property is at a slight angle pitching upward making the gate roll and scratch against them and the existing wheels were worn down. There were a few other issues but these were to Jim easy and inexpensive to fix and replace. He gave me a few options for commercial grade operators and decided to choose the Ram 1000 gate operator mainly for its cost and Jim reassured me it would be sufficient to get the job done. We met just before Christmas and scheduled to begin work upon their first opening which was Jan. 2nd. Had it been an emergency I believe they would have come out sooner. Jim emailed me the estimate the following day, I approved and we scheduled the work. He called me 12/31 to confirm our schedule. Explaining to me that his crew would be there at 9:30 and he would arrive at 10-10:30. The work was to take approximately 4-5 hrs. On 1/2/13 , As promised his crew was there on time. They were prepared and began work immediately. I watched as they replaced the parts and Jim showed up as scheduled. Including the work that was agreed they also replaced the sensor free of charge. My gate is working and running smoothly. I feel at ease knowing if I have any issues I have a 1 year service warranty. They were neat, experienced and fast. I am so relieved to have found a company such as this. As a property owner, I would definitely recommend Pacific Garage Doors & Gates.

It was a Sunday morning on the weekend before Christmas, and we couldn't close our garage door completely due to a broken cable line. We needed the cable on our garage door replaced as soon as possible and called several companies, including Pacific, but there was no answer. That wasn't really too surprising, but what was surprising and a big relief was when Drew from Pacific called about 15 minutes later, saying he'd seen that he'd missed our call and asked if he could help us. He gave us an estimate which was reasonable, and within a couple of hours, Drew had someone out to our house on an emergency basis to replace the cable on our garage door. It took only an hour and a half for the repair, and we were then able to close our garage door again. Couldn't ask for a better response time, and everything was done quickly, courteously, and professionally. We would definitely recommend Pacific.

Excellent! Very professional company! They will give you very good advice, and perform very good work. You have to pay a fair price, but you save money and trouble in the long run.

I didn't end up using this vendor simply because I needed the door replaced asap and another vendor (more expensive) had the door in stock and could install right away. I was however, very pleased, with this vendor and would absolutely reconsider them for any future service.

It was the day after Thanksgiving. It's not easy to find repair people that will come out at a moment's notice. We didn't want to leave our garage door hanging halfway open for any period of time. We called Pacific Garage Doors and Drew answered. I explained that we really needed someone that very day to come out and fix the door or at least take a look at it. By 2:30 Drew and his crew were at our house (they were even early; Drew had said they'd be here between 3 and 5!!). They evaluated the situation and in a very short time they had the door running smooth as silk! It was amazing. If you had seen the door you would have thought "no way can that be fixed". Thanks to Drew and his crew they had the door working in no time. They did a fantastic job.

My garage door wouldn't close when the button inside the garage was pushed. Thought it was a faulty wire. The technician cam over and diagnosed a faulty switch board and burned wire. The unit was 18 years old. It was decided that the old unit could not be repaired and a new unit was installed. The whole thing took about 2 hrs. Sean (I believe his name was) couldn't have been more professional, knowledgeable and kind. I would highly recommend this company.
