Tony was the best plumber I have used and will get all my future business. On the first job to replace the pressure regulator, he was able to come one day earlier than scheduled, which I appreciated. His price was $150 cheaper than another company that gave me a quote, and the quality of the work looks great.. My second job was to install a sub meter. Tony arrived exactly on time. He gave me a good quote and very good advise on obtaining the sub meter myself to save money. The quality of the completed work looks great. Tony uses a telephone answering service, but he returned my calls very quickly.
Description of Work: Tony did two jobs for me. The first was to replace a pressure regulator and the second was to install a sub meter for my irrigation system.

Called Tony and made an appointment. He was fairly busy so couldn't get to me for a week, but there was no emergency. His service is worth the wait. Came in took the faucet cartridge to his vendor to find a replacement and had it replaced and the other drain cleared all within an hour. This is the 2nd time I have used National, and Tony has now become my trusted plumber for any of my rental properties.

Tony and his staff are really good to work with: professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. We were not sure if we could make this new system work, but Tony went above and beyond to make certain we were happy with the installation. We are glad to recommend him, and happy to have him work with us. Thanks!

Tony was extremely knowledgable and professional in every way. After cleaning out our clogged sewer line he put a camera down the line and explained what I was seeing every step of the way: Broken and uncoupled pipes and large tree roots growing through the pipes. He also gave me a DVD of the entire process. After giving me a thorough explanation of how he would repair the system and a written estimate, my brother arrived, just as Tony was leaving. Tony then went over the whole problem and solution with him. Tony and his crew arrived on time to do the repairs and finished the job in less time than estimated. The lawn was replanted and the clean up was perfect.
Description of Work: Tony replaced sewer pipe running from the house to the street. The pipes were draining slowly and backing up into an overflow drain. Repairs done the year before by a different plumbing company had not worked and made the problem worsen.

Had an odd smell outside the house for a few weeks and a cable technician said we had standing water in the crawl space under the house. Called Tony based on Angie's List reviews. He came out, took a look, and determined that it was a buried, broken cast iron pipe original to the house some 60 years ago. He couldn't determine exactly where the problem was without excavation. We decided to start the work with an eye toward capping off the old pipe in the ground and repiping above ground with pvc. Once underway we saw that the pipe was indeed broken and filled with sludge. Pumped it out and capped it off. The new piping was installed and everything seems to be working fine. I appreciated Tony's suggestion to install a ground level clean out while we were doing this work. Previous clean outs required climbing onto the roof - a dangerous task. This additional work required some jackhammering and concrete work but was well worth it for everyone's safety. The crew cleaned up thoroughly afterwards. All in all it wasn't inexpensive but needed to do it and Tony and his two guys got it done in the better part of a day. Thanks!

I am really impressed with Tony's professionalism, and hisknowledge of plumbing. We have a shower column that we had installed in a new bathroom remodel. It was barely working, and the manufacturer had me jump through so many hoops to fix the thing, I really did not have much hope this latest attempt would work - but Tony made it happen. It is wonderful to have the shower work properly for the first time in YEARS!! Thanks again Tony!!

Tony and helper, Jose, arrived early in the one-hour time window they had set. They called to give me a 15 minute ETA. I give Tony A+ for punctuality. Both men donned booties before entering the house. Tony was very pleasant as well as professional. In diagnosing problems with my two toilets, he noted that I was handy based on previous work I had done. He candidly pointed out that the work that needed to be done was something I could probably do myself if I preferred. In the end, I elected to have Tony do the work. He regulated the fill valves and did extra things that I think would have been beyond my skills and energy level. He charged $170 for the fill valve and flapper on one toilet, and indicated that he would throw in the flapper on the other toilet. Cleaning out the kitchen sink aerator, providing a new supply line, and tightening the toilet seats were also at no additional charge. I had not gotten other bids, but given all the above, I felt that the price was entirely fair. In passing, Tony observed that my water heater had been installed well - very generous given that it was done by another company. I now wish I had waited to give Tony that job as well.
Description of Work: Replaced faulty fill valve and flapper, tightened seat, and replaced supply line on one toilet. Replaced flapper and tightened seat on a second toilet. Opened kitchen faucet and removed debris from aerator (result of recent installation of new water heater by another company.)

I contacted National Plumbing because they were offering a Big Deal to install a regulator and wanted to know if I could take advantage of the deal (my house was built before they were required and I knew that it might be a bigger job). I spoke to Tony and sent him a picture of the area in question. I was right, he quoted a higher price then the deal, but not astronomical. I was having other issues with my pipes that may or may not be related to the regulator and asked if he could come by to give me a estimate. He was very up front about estimates. He charges $35 dollars, but I can honestly tell you it was the best estimate I have ever received. He looked everything over and caught issues that were missed or not addressed by other providers who had given us estimates. He went in to great detail about why we were experiencing the problems with our water pressure, pipes and all our options. I really can't overstate how knowledgeable and thorough he is. We were skeptical Tony and his crew could do it on day, but they proved us wrong. It was a long day for sure 8:30 am - 8:00 pm but they did it all. Dug up the front yard and installed a new copper pipe to the water main, re-piped the duplexes, installed two tankless water heaters, installed a regulator and replaced all my hose bibs, including having an electrician come out to install the outdoor plugs for the new heaters and add them to my breakers, added new gas lines for each heater, drained and removed the old water heaters, removed all debris, old pipes and left my front yard looking like it hadn't been dug up. We met with many plumbers and contractors before we met with Tony. We had a lot of estimates and styles to choose from. Tony stood out from the crowd because of his professionalism, knowledge, respect for our property and attention to detail. We can't say enough good things about him or his crew.
Description of Work: Complete duplex re-pipe, installed two tankless water heaters, removed all debris, old pipes and heaters. Dug up front yard in order to install a new pipe to the main water supply, installed new hose bibs, replaced old kitchen and bathroom fixtures. Installed a shut off valve, pipe and regulator.

They first came out on or about January 23 to clean the drain and charged $225 for the "completed" job with a 30-day warranty. But less than 10 days later the drain was backing up already, so we called back. They did come back out and the drain has worked up to this point - we'll see. We were disappointed, though, that we had to call them back so soon, but they did honor their warranty - just can't understand why the drain could not have been cleaned well the first time.

Very good work and very professional. Re routing the whole sewer line and dig deep hole (8 ft deep) at the connection to the city sewage. Reasonable price. Tony asked for $800-900 to build a clean out, which is a lot cheaper than another plumber who asked for $1300. I choose to re route the whole sewer line which turned out to be a good choice. At the connection to the city sewage, there was a crack and >80% blockage by root. Re routing is the best solution.

When my house was rent out to a tenant, who asked me to get a plumber to help because she could not completely shut off the master bathroom's shower. I bought a coupon from Angie's list for $109 that was $200 value from a company. The plumber came, managed to close off the water to stop the leaking. They then wrote me a proposal, suggesting that they would replace the cartridge, faucet, plumbing pipes, and shower head, for 3 different prices depending on brands, from $783 to over $1,000. The tiles on the wall would need to be opened for the job. After I returned to town, I called up Tony from Angie's list. He came on time, took a look, and told me that most likely replacement of the cartridge would suffice, and that it would cost $225. After I agreed, he left to buy the part, and returned in an hour. It took him and his co-worker 20 minutes to finish the job, and the shower works very nicely. In fact, it works better, because I have told Tony that the water flow was not large, so he helped me clean up the shower head. No tiles were removed, no faucet needed to be replaced, and no plumbing pipes needed to be replaced. Tony only needed to open the cover plate of the open / shut knob. Tony seemed to be surprised that the first plumber did not just change the cartridge. But he was professional enough not to ask the first company's name. Tony's fee for coming out to provide an estimate is $35. If you accept his service, then this $35 is part of the overall charge.

Tony. That's all I have to say. My mom said "call National and ask for Tony: he's the nicest plumber you'll meet." We all know what "nicest" can mean. We had two drains in need of some serious rooter work, namely the washing machine drain that spewed soiled water all over our garage. Tony showed up next day. Gave us the Angie's list deal for both drains and checked the rest of our plumbing for other possible problems that could creep up. He said we were good to go and to call him back if the drains backed up again and he would take care of it for free within the next 30 days. He was out in 1hr flat. Super nice. Super courteous. And cleaned up behind himself. Beat that!

Oddly enough, I did not find Tony through Angie's list. I found him on Yelp before I joined Angie's list. However, I was not surprised to see that he had such a high rating on Angie's list. The first time I called him was because the garbage disposal had broken due to artichoke leaves being stuffed in it. Tony said he would be there between 8 and 9 in the morning. I figured that probably meant closer to 9 than 8 so at 7:45 I took my dog for a long walk and when I got back I saw his truck and it looked like he was pulling in - I told him he could park in the driveway and he said, "Oh I'm already done." He had come in, fixed the problem, cleared out the disposal, taught my wife how to fix the problem if it occurred again and only charged us $75 for it. So when the water wasn't getting through to the ice maker, we called Tony. He came in exactly when he promised, replaced some old hoses, and installed a new filter. It was a couple of hours work and the price was very reasonable. When it turned out the new filter was defective, he was back the next day, replaced it with a new one at no charge and everything has been great since. I recommend him highly.
Description of Work: First time, he repaired a clogged garbage disposal. Second time, he replaced a clogged filter which was preventing my ice maker and water dispenser in the refrigerator/freezer from working.

The greatest experience with a service provider ever. Honest, straight forward, no nonsense. Tony is the owner of this business and it shows. He came to my home and I explained my kitchen drainage problem. I showed him the clean-out location and he set about snaking the drain. Based on the amount of sludge which came out on the snake, Tony recommended hydro-jetting the line. I agreed and he brought in his machine and got to work. This guy hydro-jetted my drain 4 different times until the line was clean. AND GAVE ME A 2 YEAR WARRANTY! All this for a very reasonable $290 bucks. The last time I had this work done the plumber charged me $500.00, made just one pass and refused to warranty his work. What a jerk and a rip-off!! Tony has won my business for life. The guy is an honest hard worker who is into building his business, not ripping people off. I highly recommend Tony and his business National Plumbing. UPDATE! 8/13/2014 Tony is the real deal. My praise in my original review above has been validated. I recently had a problem with my drain hydro-jetting which was under warranty. I called Tony and he came out the same day. This guy stands behind his work and does what is required to address the problem. Very impressive. Don't get the wrong idea. His work is very high quality, but I had a very stubborn situation which was unforeseen on the first service. He came out at 6 pm when most people would be home with their families and worked the problem. He and his partner Jose kicked butt. I can not recommend them highly enough. Thanks Tony and Jose for your honesty and integrity.

This job was for my elderly parents who had been quoted by another provider to fix the sewer problem at $15,000. Tony came in and found the problem and quoted after discounts around $2,300. Yes, 1/7th of the costs! My brother stayed at the house,on the scheduled day to assist with any questions or decisions that might come up. The words from my brother where, "Couldn't of gone better". Tony was on-time, did exactly what he quoted, in fact more, was honest, kept everyone updated on progress. The price was actually less as he found another clean-out while there and didn't need to do that part of the job. Tony also found some future potential problems and clearly explained the options. We will definitely use him again and would strongly recommend him to anyone needing his service.

Our house was built in 1997 and he said out toilet was outdated and he would have trouble to find parts. Seems kind of odd? He stated we can pick out a toilet and he would be happy to install it for $787. That is a ridiculous price considering home depot will do the same job for $79 including getting rid of the old toilet. So that was about 1000% markup. He also told us we had low water pressure and that was why one of the sinks was not working well. That also seemed untruthful since we just changed the hot water heater a few months before and they checked the water pressure and it was perfect. Lastly he looked at 2 faucets. One was leaking and he just took my wife's word for it that it was leaking without checking and the other had low pressure water coming out likely from a clogged cartridge. He quoted us $220 per faucet to fix. Since I can buy them and install them myself for under $ 80 each, that price seems pretty steep for just a repair. I would think twice about getting an estimate from this plumber. I don't plan on using them now or ever in the future.
Description of Work: We had them come out to look a a few minor plumbing problems that I did not want to do by myself. I picked them because of all the great Angies list reviews. They were busy over the holiday week so we had them come out about 2 weeks after I called. Tony was prompt and come over about 2 hours early. Unfortunately only my wife was home at the time. We had him look at a pressurized toilet that occasionally misfired, 2 faucets that were not working great and a shower that was leaking at times.

Response from National Plumbing and Rooter
To install a new customer supplied toilet and the hauling away of the old one we charge $287.61 plus the 10% discount for Angie’s List members. It is our apology that the client has misread our invoice. We have tried to contact the client to inform him of the accurate price but have not heard back from the customer. Hear at National Plumbing our goal is to always be honest and forward with our clients as our reputation is very important to us. The statements made by this customer are inaccurate along with an incorrect estimate price. His estimate: $787 Our estimate to him: 287.61 (That’s a large difference in price) The quote for this particular project was for the following scope of work: -Install customer supplied toilet. -New shut off valves coming out of the wall -New supply line -New wax ring and toilet bolts -Hauling away old toilet Please keep in mind that to repair faucets for ceramic cartridges and stems it is expensive due to the parts. One of my recommendations to the customer has been to hold off on the repair of the faucets until they started the remodeling project they had in mind because they wanted to get new faucets. And as an Anglie’s List client we did offer them a 10% coupon.
