bathtub refinishing
+ -1 moreThey installed a shower enclosure. They used a nickel finish and it started to corrode in 2010. Both the exterior and interior were degrading. In 2010 they refinished the hardware, but it is corroding again. Even the plating on the handle which is on the outside that isn't directly exposed to the water handle is degrading. It is starting to crack and bubble, just wear off. I have another shower that was installed by another company that is nickel plated. I have never had a problem with that one and it is older than the one done by Mitrani. They used the excuse saying that was the only plating that was available. So it was a plating issue. My contention is if you can't find a plating that can do a good enough job, then you shouldn't offer nickel finish. All of the shower fixtures are made by Kohler and they have a nickel finish but they aren't corroding. So it is possible to do a proper nickel finish, but this company isn't doing it.
