Description of Work: They replaced the old roof and brought everything up to code. I am very happy with the job and the materials, etc. I wish it had cost a little less. Howard, the contract manager was extremely professional. The only reason I knocked down the overall to a B was the demolition guys were a little careless and smashed a number of the new drought resistant plants in the front flower bed. They did much better keeping the debris out of the pool in the back. Howard did compensate me for some new plants.

Description of Work: Tony came over and provided me with an estimate for replacing the roof on my house. He was very professional and provided me with an estimate for a quality roof. At the end of the day, his bid was quite a bit higher than another equivalent company (Family owned, direct employees, years in business) so i went with the other company. I realize that estimates vary from job to job, and I would call them again. Was great at answering questions.

Description of Work: DON'T CALL THEM, THEY WASTE YOUR TIME AND SEND OUT INEXPERIENCED SONS.. My time was totally wasted. I called Mikes Roofing and was happy to be told Tony (I later find out was the owner's young son) could come out to my house within two hours. I spoke to Tony and he was going to call me half hour before coming to my home, so I could meet him there. I also told him I had a specific list of roof problems to show him first from an Inspection report. Tony did call me but when I got to my house 20 minutes later, I found Tony already there and on my roof, instead of waiting for me. (He also had parked his big truck on my driveway! I have never had a contractor park their truck in my driveway, especially when just giving an estimate) I told him I was not happy about being on my roof w/out my being there and he knew I was minutes away, and he said, "I was trying to save time.." I let him speak since he had already been on my roof instead of waiting for me and looking at the Inspector's list and photos. He was sooooo inexperienced he didn't mention anything about the problems the Inspector mentioned. When I said this to him, he said he didn't like my attitude. HE didn't like my attitude. He also was dressed up and wearing PATENT LEATHER SHOES! HOW COULD HE WALK ALL OVER MY ROOF IN SLIPPERY SOLED SHOES??! What a joke! I called the company, spoke to Karen and she said, "Oh he's been with the company 30 years, he's the owners son". Which seemed odd, since Tony looked about 23 years old. She offered to have someone else come the next day, but my time had already been wasted. I made a special trip back home to meet Tony. I had two professional roofers come out and they both first said the same thing about my shingles, which this kid never mentioned, probably because he didn't know! AND neither one of them started on my roof! They both started INSIDE THE HOUSE, NOT ON THE ROOF, because they said they needed to see the ceilings and corners for leaks etc. first. THIS TONY KID was all dressed to go somewhere. He was not there to go over the needs of my roof. He was inexperienced and unprofessional and spoiled.

Description of Work: About a year ago I phoned Mike's and was given Uriel Huerta's name and cell phone. Uriel promptly came out and made an estimate at that time; however, circumstances prevented my having the work done then. About 3 weeks ago I phoned and talked to Uriel again. He even remembered me and my house! They have a rule that after 6 months they have to remove an estimate from their files; so he asked me to send him my copy, which I did. Uriel came out to look again, and they honored the old estimate! I sent them the down payment. Uriel checked with his sources and said they could be out next Tuesday. That's when they showed 7 a.m. They got to work immediately and pulled off the old shingles and stuff that day! In fact, they put a tar-paper looking covering on and piled the new packages of shingles on top of the roof that same (first) day. They finished the whole thing Wednesday, including the entire roof and 2 new wind turbines, and a new slope to the back, flat roof; they cleaned all!

Description of Work: A representative came over to measure and give us an estimate. I didn't hear from anyone until I called them two weeks later to see if they had come up with an estimate/proposal. Later that day they e-mailed me an estimate that was not in a file format that my computer could read. When I asked him to resend it in another format I never heard back from them again. It has now been over a month since he first came out to measure the roof.

Description of Work: THEY DID NEW, RUBBERIZED ROOFING THAT THEY PUT ON WITH A BLOW TORCH.
