Description of Work: Vitaly showed up in the time frame given us to look at our Fisher Paykel single drawer dishwasher. He went through various diagnostics and, unfortunately, determined that the cost of repair would not be worth it for us. He was honest and told us that it would make more sense to buy the latest model as ours is 10 years old. He answered our questions and spent quite a bit of time with us in discussing what to purchase.

Description of Work: We have had some very bad experiences with appliance repair companies in the past. Thus, when our Maytag dryer started making seriously scary noises, we got very nervous because, though over 20 years-old, this dryer is far better than anything on the market now. Anyway: Through the good services of Angie's List—let us all praise the free market—we contacted Lerman Appliances on Monday, and made an appointment for Tuesday. They took the trouble to explain their rates over the phone in a clear straight forward manner. On Tuesday, Dimitri, the designated repairman, called to let me know what time he would arrive at our house, which was greatly appreciated. Upon arrival—on time—Dimitri took a look at the dryer, listened to the scary knocking sound, and like Dr. Kildare, diagnosed the problem in about ten seconds. He checked his van for parts, which he had (oh, joy!) and then let me know exactly what the cost would be to fix the various problems. Dimitri dug into the guts of our beloved Maytag and got it back to pristine shape in a little over an hour and a half. He cleaned up all the loose lint and even clued me in to a great website—repairclinic.com—where I can purchase hard-to-find parts for most any appliance that has been produced on planet earth in the past 50 years. In short: a great experience, a great repairman, a great company. Would we use Lerman Appliances again? Definitely!

Description of Work: Fixed latch on washing machine door. Tried to repair refrigerator: replaced thermostat but did not correct problem. Had to replace the refrigerator and Mr. Lerman gave me credit for that charge.

Description of Work: I found Lerman on Angie's List and made a call on a late Friday afternoon for service to a Bosch washer & dryer and received a prompt response and was able to schedule an appointment on Saturday. They arrived promptly at the very beginning of the window that they had given me. I greatly appreciated that timeliness. The problem turned out to be a plumbing issue unrelated to the appliances, but they nevertheless looked over the appliances. The washer door had been broken and they gave me an idea of what the replacement may cost. They did not charge me for the visit at that time and called me back shortly with the cost of the parts needed and the estimated time that it would take for the parts to come in. I authorized this and they were back again today to install the new parts -- again, showing up within 5 minutes of the 10-1 window that they gave me. Everything was taken care of within a week of my initial call. I would definitely use them again.

Description of Work: We were having trouble with a dishwasher and called Lerman. After describing the problem the owner advised me to run the washer with a product before going any further. His solution worked. No fuss, no muss, no charge. They will be my first call next time I have a problem.

Description of Work: I live on the east coast and own rental property on the west coast. My new tenant told me that the 22 year-old Sub Zero wasn't cooling efficiently. I called Lerman's Appliances, who then called my tenant, and they worked out a day and time that worked for both of them. Not only does Lerman Appliances do a great job at fixing the problem, they are fantastic at communicating. As soon as they knew the problem, I received an email. As soon as they secured a date to fix the problem I received an email. I would highly recommend this company, as they really know their profession and know how to communicate, which I believe is just as important as fixing the problem! Good job Lerman Appliances!

Description of Work: Thank you to Val from Lerman Appliances! After hearing that another company responded to me a bit earlier and came to check out my refrigerator, he was still very helpful and informative. He gave me some possibilities on what was going on and even gave me tips on how to test the problem myself. Then after I stupidly forgot his instructions and called him back, he called his brother who actually does the repairs and they confirmed my worst fears ...I needed to buy a new fridge. Anyways, Val didn't need to do all of that. He never pressured me to schedule an appointment and was completely helpful and friendly. If I have any other appliance problems, I will be calling Lerman Appliances! Thank you!

Description of Work: Initial call to re-set Jenn-Air gas range error signal...major repair with computer panel Followed by over-under Paykel diswasher crashing with both units failing followed by Jenn-Air double door refrigerator freezer unit having major frost build up in freezer Followed by combined Jenn-Airbuillt-in microwave needing base to move + burnout out lamp that caused removal of unit to replace All appliances were 7 years old so I'm only surprised by them all crashing in the same two week period. The Good news: finding Vitaly Lerman and his sons on Angie's List In comparison with experiences with other LA appliance repair men, these guys were considerate, concerned, articulate (reference: Eastern European origins prevalent in this category but no language difficulties with the Lermans); they delivered as promised re workmanship and scheduling. You will welcome their arrival to fix whatever problems you have with appliances.

Description of Work: My refrigerator required service for my tenants immediately and they quickly responded and advised me. I would highly recommend this company, they communicate well and are personable and trustworthy.

Description of Work: Our fancy stainless steel hand-me-down fridge stopped working a week after it was given to us. We were not really in a spot to buy a new one, and although it may have seemed like we had disposable money to another repairman had come out (for a $45 estimate, in which he told us it would be approximately $500 and it still might not correct the problem, however offered to fix it on the side for a little more money...) Based on that, we passed and called Lerman after reading the reviews on Angie's list. They came that day, fixed it for $318 and it has been working perfectly since. Thank you for not ripping us off!

Description of Work: Freezer was continually icing up and not perorming efficiently. I believe that I had two service calls and Mr. Lerman is an honest, professional and competent repair person. Would certainly call on him again if I had problems

Description of Work: Vitaliy came out and checked out my stacked washer and dryer. I knew that it was the belt and had tried to replace it myself. Unfortunately, the hardware store told me this smaller belt should still work. It didn't. He had the proper belt, checked out the rest of the motor and warned me that the transmission is going due to overloading. He replaced the belt and gave me an Angie's List discount. Very pleasant and profession. Well, my motor seems to be done so I'll calling Lerman back for a new repair and I've stopped overloading my washer!

Description of Work: I actually haven't used the company, but wanted to commend them for taking the time to talk to me prior to an appliance purchase. I am remodeling my kitchen and was curious about their experience with various brands. It is so hard to find any appliances without repair records. I had a long phone conversation with the son of the owner, who took the time to call his father and get his opinion. I hope I don't need to repair any appliances in the near future, but I will definitely call them if I do.

Description of Work: I had my dishwasher plumbing repaired by Lerman Appliances on 11/16/12. I would rate them an "A" - excellent on every point. They are my "call to" company for all of my appliance repairs. I have used them in the past and they continue to excel in all aspects of their business - customer service, timely response, effective repair, reasonable cost, cleanliness, etc.

Description of Work: My washing machine refused to drain and spin. Also had some issues with the dishwasher. The serviceman (name?) fixed the washer on the spot. Although I didn't think it was cheap, I would still use them again. He was prompt, polite, knowledgeable and instead of having me spend for dishwasher repairs, he advised me to get a new one. I so appreciate the honesty and would call them for future repairs

Description of Work: Repair man visited home and said he'd be back and fix my stove. Unfortunately the part needed for repair wasn't readily available, however this company was very poor on the follow up and communication.
