Helios Roofing and Solar

I purchased solar system from Helios Solar back in June last year. I did my massive research for a several months before going ahead with this project. After my research, I knew that purchasing it made the most sense. With all the tax credit tapering off this year I decided to just do it. More than that, there were also great low interest loans available for me which made it easier. I got several estimates from different solar companies and I was very happy with the massive knowledge of Eran. Eran was able to answer any of my questions that I had and to provide me with an estimate right there on the spot. The overall experience from start to finish with Helios Solar was excellent. From the office staff to the installers everything went awesome. After several months of use… all I can really write here is why didn’t I do it before. I haven’t used the regular power since the system was turned on.

We moved to the city few 6 months ago and one of the first projects that we did was to install solar panels at our house. We got a hold of several solar companies in order to check and compare prices, and we met with 3 solar companies, spent some good amount of time learning what we could about solar panels and their companies. Out of all the companies, we hired Helios Solar because of Eran. Eran is very kind, skilled, knowledgeable and did not sugar coat anything during any of our meetings, while he kept explaining all the pluses and minuses. More then that, he was available pretty much any time after we had questions. The price that was given to us was the best from all the other ones! The type of solar panels they installed are one of the better ones on the market! For anyone who it thinking of installing solar panels, call Helios Solar!

We suffering about getting solar because we don’t have the perfect exposure for that. And due to that, we decided to keep it as a dream project for a while now. Helios Solar was the perfect solar company to hire for this task and challenge. They use SunPower panels (which are rated as the most efficient panels) Eran came over immediately after we asked for an estimate and he explained the entire process in details. The installers who did the work were fabulous. Our main issue and complaint was with the power company! They have changed the Net Metering program because they wanted to make it less cost effective. So, our first tip is to do the relevant homework on Net Metering 2.0 program!

I was referred to Helios Solar via a relative and I couldn’t be more happier with the way the work went from A to Z. Eran and the team knows their stuff very well when it comes to Solar. They are pro’s at figuring out how to size the system based on average usage and factoring in several metering plans available with the electric company. Their approach was by using the best materials. We spent good number of hours talking to them and deciding different options/configurations/inverter related topics with Eran and he was very patient and explained everything very thoroughly at every interaction. From the signed contract time all the way to the end, the entire work went smoothly and stress free. Every person in the team and office is top notch, responsive and on point every step of the way. If you are thinking of getting Solar, go with Helios - you just can’t go wrong!

The guys over at helios know how to keep their clients happy! I didn't know anything about solar going in but they really made the transition easy. Granted we have a smaller house and didn't use that much electricity to begin with, but their technician was able to showcase just how much we would save by doing solar and from there the decision was easy. Going solar has many different aspects to consider and it was not an easy decision for me to make. I had to take into consideration the old(er) roof I had, the old electrical panel, and the fact I don't have a south-facing roof. However I always knew solar is the future and was therefore adamant to implement it on my roof. After discussing the project with a few different contractors, I chose to go with Helios Solar for the installation for their competitive pricing, good attitude and ability to answer very technical questions. Install day was a breeze, with the guys putting on the railings and the panels all on the same day. Oliver was my contract point, and he was extremely dilligent and easy to talk to, communicating what the next step is at every step of the way. All-in-all, I am extremely glad I chose Helios and not one of the other contractors (who may also be great) for my solar project and cannot wait to see my new system in action!. PS ask for Oliver, you won't be disappointed with the results

Great, great, and GREAT! MY PANELS ARE UP AND RUNNING ALREADY! To think we signed the contract 4 weeks ago and that I am already connected to the grid.. now thats efficiency 🙂 Helios were great communication wise, information wise, and price-wise. They gave me a competitive bid that was right in the price-range I received from other solar companies, but were very professional in their approach which made me comfortable signing their proposed system. When install day came, I met with Jose and his team who were great. They showed up on day 1 to unload the materials (which I had no problems with) and came back the next day for the actual installation. THe installation was brief. I heard them drilling the holes above me and god did they have to create a lot of holes. I immediately remembered we didn't discuss WATER PROOFING THE ROOF. OH NO, I though! They can't leave my roof like that!! I frantically called their office who explained that water proofing was a part of the process. Phew! I was relieved to find out they do things to make the final result as good as possible and don't look for ways to cut corners, even when you don't explicitly discuss these things with them. Definitely happy from A-Z and can't wait to start monitoring my future savings

Helios were professional and courteous during our solar panel project, which leads me to write this review. I have 3 young kids and the thought of leaving them with our mess of a planet absolutely haunts me! I believe in doing our part for the environment, and so solar was a no-brainer. During our search for our ideal contractor we stumbled across a Facebook ad for Helios and thought "hmm.. might as well give them a call to get a quote". We could not have made a better decision, as these guys are the real deal. From start to finish they took care of our million and one concerns, and were happy to share as much knowledge and information we felt we needed. Oliver, their owner / point of contact was exemplary in how business should be handled by a professional. He was in charge in transmitting information from one entity to another (his company to us, LADWP to us, setting up inspection dates etc) and I could not be happier with how he handled it. Very communicative and highly responsible, 2 of the most important characteristics for a point of contact in a $25,000 big scale home renovation. Definitely met my expectations

Ben, Eran and the team at the front office (Michelle in particular) deserve the acclaim their receive. Their process is efficient and very well-oiled for a contracting company. They do everything in-house and have their own architecture and load design team that reduce their costs. When they initially told me that I was somewhat skeptical, but their professional and unique approach to designing the system, coupled with their great pricing convinced me these guys know what they're doing. The only step that I wish I would've gotten more explanations about are the production calculations. Ben simply plugged in a few numbers and spit out the production (he later explained how production is calculated and that there are a lot of factors involved which their design takes into account) but as a physicist I strive for accuracy and information. But, since NO ONE else gave me a better answer, I'll let this slide as an industry-standard. Very happy with the results, and my system is already up and running. We agreed on a 7.5kW Mission Solar system with a 6000w SolarEdge inverter. My house is ~2100 sq.ft. Hope this is helpful to someone

The guys in this company pride themselves on giving reliable information and comfortable pricing. From my personal experience (MPG may vary) they held their word and made me a happy customer. The installation process took 2 half-days - 1 day to install the railings and water proof my roof, 1 day for actual installation of panels - as was discussed in the initial inspection. I have yet to find any part they did not fulfill, and will update this review if something arises as the system is complicated with many parts that may go wrong. However, from my experience with them so far I will refer to friends and neighbors alike

I moved to a new house in December and had a few projects on my mind. I decided to do the needs before the wants and immediately contacted a few solar companies to start getting quotes for installation. After speaking to a few, Anthony felt reliable and heavily fact-based which prompted me to accept his estimate. He was very clear about the fact that the project could extend to a second day due to the weather conditions and it did in fact take a full day followed by a half day. Luis arrived on time both days with the 3 person crew and worked tirelessly to install the panels. Although I wasn't concerned with the aesthetics of the project since the panels face my backyard I still wanted them to look nice and even, which they were. Overall I am extremely happy I chose Helios and will go on to recommend them to my friends and neighbors.

Cons of going solar: - high price-tag - interacting with sleazy salesmen (to be fair like any other construction bidding war would involve) - not knowing full well what you're getting yourself into Pros of going solar: - Saving on energy cost (screw you Edison) - Saving the environment - Tax incentive (30% tax credit) - Long term investment as energy bills keep rising annually - Increased house value After some research, it was evident the pros outweighed the cons and we were on the way getting bids on the project. After meeting with a few contractors, Oliver from Helios was thorough and felt reliable enough for us to proceed with his company. Paperwork was signed on the spot and installation began a few days after receiving the approved permits from Edison. Installation took a total of 1 day as promised with no notable problems. As of now we're connected to the grid with our new solar powered home. Was very satisfied with the overall process

Customer service and reliability are the first 2 adjectives I would use to describe Helios. They are very diligent in their marketing, making it clear they are not in the business of selling false hopes and promises which I really liked. I felt confident moving forward after meeting with Oliver, their owner who did a very good job at laying out the sequence of the work and what to expect. I wasn't too kin on having the process done as soon as it happened, but it was a factor of wanting to make the cutoff for the federal tax credit offered for installing the panels. Oliver made a very good point about solar being a system that relies on the house's total energy usage and recommended we look for ways to cut back on energy usage to ensure we get as much bang for our buck. Since the panels are there for decades, even a small improvement helps save thousands of $$$ in the long run. As well as recommending we change all the incandescent lights to fluorescent lights to conserve on energy use. He also suggested updating our attic insulation to a thicker R-value to make sure the HVAC system doesn't consume too much electricity. After doing all the necessary upgrades and installing the system, we've officially cut back on ~75% of our monthly bills and I couldn't be happier.

Don't let anyone tell you solar installation can be free or with no money down or any catches.. THERE'S ALWAYS A CATCH. I've had TWO DIFFERENT contractors try to sell me on this idea of a free system, only to come back with outrageous financing options. Finally Oliver from Helios Solar came over, explained the different ways you can pay for solar installation and took the time to dismantle these 'too good to be true' prices you get. After doing my own research.. he was correct. This fact alone put Helios on top of the competition, and we finally decided on hiring them for the project.

Ben from Helios inspected our roof, suggested necessary improvements that needs to be done prior to solar installation and quoted us a very fair price. After reading all the positive reviews on here and checking that all the facts line up we signed their contract and the project was scheduled. My husband and I were impressed with how smooth the process was, with the crew working for 9 hours and finishing the WHOLE project in one day. Overall very satisfied with our decision to go solar and use Helios, will refer to friends

I consulted several Solar companies and picked Helios due to Oliver's ability to communicate well and answer any and all of my questions (financial and technical alike). The other ones I met with were often stuck and visibly scrambling for an answer. I really liked that his explanation was thorough, educational, and accurate and that he sits and listens to anything you have on your mind. Helios weren't the lowest bid I got, but I went with them due to their impressive reputation and confidence in the capabilities and integrity they seemed to offer. I do not regret it one bit, even though it cost me about $1,000 more. Its an investment, and so far it feels like I got my money's worth from Helios

A word of advice to those of you who are serious about going through with this project: prep the house for solar. Oliver's analogy of a surgeon prepping for surgery is spot on - replace incandescent lighting, increase your insulation thickness, and make the house as energy efficient as possible. These panels are supposed to be the holy grail of energy efficiency, yet SoCal houses are all 50s drywall and empty cavities. Now for the process, as this is the bulk of what I want this review to be about: when setting up the initial meeting it was obvious their office is well organized. They promptly set up a meeting with Oliver (huge shout out to this young man) who came in with a competitive bid and very positive attitude. After signing off some documents, city permits and site walkthrough were handled by them. Once the stamp was received the installation was brief, professional and timely. Oliver showed up with the crew in the morning and explained what was going to happen, as well as supervising his guys and walking them through what we were planning to do (the project was slightly more complicated than their "regular" projects which I completely understood given my roof layout). After the crew finished, we were connected to the grid and have been able to monitor our system's output since. We even had Helios come back and install more insulation later on to supplement the panels output. These guys are professional and easy to work with. I felt comfortable with Oliver and his crew from day 1 and he proved reliable time and time again. Please do yourselves a favor and contact these guys for your solar needs

29. Helios got everything done in a timely manner and were thorough all the way through. I was in constant communication with Eran who is one of the owners and he took the time to listen and give advice about what to expect. I am overall very happy with the outcome.

After reading all the positive reviews, I decided to give Helios a chance. I already knew what system I needed to get and their inspector Ben came out to explain their installation process. I was impressed with his knowledge and felt comfortable with the payment plan he offered so I scheduled for installation to begin when the rainy season stopped. The installation was a brief one day job and I am currently enjoying my gridless existence. I recommend Ben and Helios Solar to anyone who is a technical consumer like me and doesn't make a decision without extensive research.

I came to this project knowing solar is a commitment. I knew I'll be stuck with whoever I pick for a long time and that I will have to hope they are easy to work with in the long run. Oliver and the team at Helios Solar proved to be just that and I want to take the time and illustrate what you can expect when you call them over for an inspection: Firstly, its important to note they weren't my first bid. I came to their inspection with prior knowledge (talking to others + personal research) which was helpful in guiding the conversation in the right direction. When Oliver came over, he took the time to explain how solar works and how it'll save me tens of thousands in the future, and, with their great reputation factored in we set up an appointment for installation. Permits and onsite inspection were next, and they were handled directly through their office. I was told I didn't need to be there for the inspection process and that they will take care of everything, which turned out to almost be the case (they had a question about the main meter which required some input but otherwise nothing major). Install day was next and began right at 8 AM with Jose and Luis coming to set up camp outside my house and got to work almost immediately. The whole installation took 1 day and was completely hiccup-free. They were extremely nice and were able to answer some of the questions I had for them. After it was all done, we just had to wait for the final inspection and connection by LADWP and we started enjoying free electricity. All in all the project was hassle-free with a very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Helios even installed new insulation at the house after they finished to squeeze as much efficiency out of the panels as possible - and best of all THERE IS A REBATE FOR INSULATION IN LA COUNTY. So we basically ended up paying nothing out of pocket for the upgrade and have a more efficient solar system. Great advice, great service, and a great experience. Very happy I went with Helios!

SunRun, Tesla, Vivint... All CRAZY EXPENSIVE!! Luckily, there are other, more affordable options for producing green solar energy. I stumbled upon Helios on Yelp and set up a next-day inspection. Anthony came and explained the benefits of financing the project and how it can still help me save money while not having crazy upfront costs. After some more talking, we narrowed down the options and zeroed-in on a system that works for my situation. I am a big believer in the 3-estimates rule so invited 2 other reputable contractors just to make sure I am getting the absolute best option. Sure enough, I picked Anthony and Helios to carry out the project. And after signing their contract... we were off! On-site and metering inspections were conducted to ensure the proposed system is suitable for my older roof. This was coordinated by the office and I was simply told what time the inspector should be there - super easy! Installation was prompt and fast, with Jose leading the 3-man crew on and making sure I was comfortable every step of the way. Anthony showed up to make sure everything is going smoothly and to check if I have any more questions. The experience was pleasant, swift, and hassle-free. If you're looking for a professional and well-priced solar contractor, give Helios a shot.. you wont regret it. Now its just a matter of passing the final inspection and start enjoying green, FREE energy!

If you read reviews on other solar contractors you'd be bombarded with very demotivating qualities - bad communication or lack thereof, bad installation, overpromising, amateurs, etc. The guys over at Helios however mean serious business! They passed the post-installation inspection on the first go and were very professional, courteous and helpful throughout the whole process. I've been working with them for about 6 weeks from the moment we decided to go with them to the moment we passed our final inspection and its been nothing short of a walk in the park. LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS HERE! They're on point.

The evidence to go solar were overwhelming... so I decided to start the process... Anthony from Helios Solar came to give me a price and I decided to go through with installing a 6.5 kW system that would leave me paying nickels on the dollar in monthly bills. It ended up being much more straightforward home improvement project than I initially thought and I am very happy I made the move to solar
