First American Movers

My wife and I are absolutely more than satisfied with First American Movers. I'll be the first to say I hate moving so much but these three gentlemen, Sam, Henry, and Lavar, moved us in so seamlessly today I honestly have to pinch myself to believe it's true. They arrived right on time, worked as a team, drove with caution, paid close attention to details and instructions, were careful moving all of our furniture, and did it with light-hearted humor the whole time. I literally had to ask these guys to take a break because they were (carefully) full throttle the whole time and refused to rest until the job was finished! The price is very reasonable, actually the lowest estimate we found in the area. I knew they would put the furniture in the right rooms, but they even went as far as to put each individual piece of furniture in the desired spot. What can I say? We're super thrilled to have moved into our new home in just a few hours with no scratches on the walls or dirt on the freshly cleaned carpets. Outstanding. Thank you guys!!! Cheers, Adam and Denise

The first contact was by phone with Sam who definitely sealed the deal. He was positive, sympathetic and commiserated with me over the whole reason for having to move the cabinet to begin with. He called me back the day before to confirm the move and gave me the movers cell phone number so we could be in touch should there be any unexpected delay. On the day of move, Lavar called me to let me know that they were on their way, which gave me time to make a quick coffee run (caffeine was a must for this day). The guys took such great care, used many blankets, multiple wraps and managed to break down the cabinet that had been in the same place for nearly 30 years. They're quick, efficient, kind, and respectful of all belongings. They don't make you lift a thing. We've moved a few times and each time was stressful, but this is the best experience ever thanks to First American Movers. Not once did they drop or hit any of our furniture or boxes. They were very well coordinated as well. I would definitely recommend this company due to their reasonable pricing (they do not charge for long carry, wardrobe boxes, blankets, etc.), arrive in a timely manner, reliable, careful and considerate. i

Sam gave me a quote over the phone. He called me several times prior to the move to secure the moving time and date. Over the phone, he never mentioned extra costs like stairs and wrapping and covering furniture. I specifically asked him if they cover furniture and protect floors, he said yes and did not disclose extra costs. On the day of the move, at 8am the movers called me and asked for directions to my house. Three guys came, but the truck was not large enough. They had to make two trips...which means double the gas money and time. The movers got lost to the new house and had to call and ask for directions again. The movers worked efficiently and did not break or damage anything. The bill was over the estimated amount by $400. The mover said call Sam on Monday before they process the credit card info. Of course when I called, the card was already charged. Sam said he needed to speak with the movers to clarify charges and that he would call me back. No call back. I called him after couple of days, then he said the guys worked more hours than they actually did, he had to charge for stairs and for wrapping the furniture. I told him what time the guys left, and he accused me of lying. He said (paraphrase) "I will have all my guys come over and tell you what time they left." We argued over the extra fees and he said he had to speak to his boss and he would call me back. I gave him several days to return my call before I called him. He would never answer his phone, always a recording. One day, I had my sister call him immediately after I did, and of course he answered the phone. I then passed the situation over to my husband since he was never going to answer my call or give me an response. Finally we were to get a credit on our card, Never saw it. I just gave up, but about two months later a customer rep called to get me to write and review. I explained the pending credit due and she called some people to handle it. Several weeks later I go a credit on my credit card.

The move was fine, but it took two days. at they end of the second day Sam gave me a bill for 4600 and my jaw dropped, but I gave him a check. He had to come the next day to fix a chair that lost a screw and I asked him to go over the bill and explain to me how he reached 4600. He went over it with me and her added a bunch of number for things we never agreed on, like stairs. I told him that he couldn't just add anything he wanted if we had agreed on it prior to the move. He agreed with me and told me he would give me $800 back. He told me that he would mail it the next day. A week later and no check I called him and he said that he would send it to me in two payments of $400. That never happened. I called and called and he never responded and never sent me any money. Never use them they will rob you blind!
