Fiddler On The Roof Chimney Service

Chimney and fireplace were thoroughly cleaned down to the glass doors. Beautiful. The technician advised me that the fireplace panels were cracked and needed to be replaced. Very professional and clean service. I will use again and recommend them to anyone with a fireplace.

Super - guy was super nice and very respectful of our house and keeping it clean. Gave us a detailed quote for repairs but we didn't get a copy of the video - seems none are taken.

All went well and the certified technician provided a through explanation of costs and issues noted.

The company was responsive, professional and easy to work with. I was able to email them the house inspector report (for a recent purchase) and they read the report, gave a cost estimate and sent a contractor to do the work.

He arrived on time and was a crew supervisor. He explained in great and thorough detail what he would be doing and looking for in our chimney. He prepped and cleaned the chimney and informed us of his findings. We were one or two fires away from having a chimney fire due to the amount of creosote in our chimney. I would highly recommend. He was thorough and professional. The design of our fireplace required that he clean the chimney from the bottom inside as there was no way to access from the top. He made suggestions and explained what could be done to modify the chimney in the future, which would allow for cleaning from the top. He was extremely clean and professional and also repaired the damper, which had been frozen open. I will use Fiddler on the Roof's services again in a heart beat and highly recommend them.

The cleaning and inspection were performed professionally, and they were very knowledgeable and informative.

They want $49.00 just to come to estimate the cost of a repair/job to my fireplace and claim that they need to charge for an "inspection". Looks like there is no possibility of a free estimate here.

I purchased with my credit card a $99 coupon for a chimney seep service from Fiddler. However, when I looked at my receipt (Order l #129425-1) it indicated that I purchased 2 separate chimney sweep services (also order #129425-2). I telephoned Fiddler and explained the double billing and Reyna Blanco responded that they would only perform 1 chimney sweep and that Angie's List would refund the additional $99. Reyna Blanco at Fiddler also wrote an e-mail stating that Angie's List would refund the additional $99 for the second chimney sweep that was mistakenly purchased.

The man who did the inspection and cleaning was very friendly an professional. After the inspection he went over all things wrong in the structure of the chimney and even showed photos and video clip he took on his phone. Overall the experience with the company was a good one. If we ever needed to demo and/or rebuilt a new chimney we would go with this company. They are thourough and knowledgable.

I am very happy with this company. They scheduled me quickly, confirmed their impending arrival, arrived on time, were friendly, professional, excellent with answering questions, went beyond what I had expected, took pictures of some roof repairs I didn't know I needed when they were on the roof inspecting the chimneys, and cleaned up everything afterward. They cleaned and inspected my gas fireplace from inside the house. They cleaned and inspected my wood fireplace from inside the house, discovering cracks in the ceramic walls that make it fire hazard until I have it repaired. They climbed onto my two-story roof and inspected the chimneys from above, finding that part of the house in good condition. While on the roof, they noticed a broken roof tile and several that were cracked. They took pictures of the tiles and emailed them to me. Later, I showed these pictures to a roofer, which speeded up his process of roof inspection. They went above and beyond what I had expected. I plan to have them replace the ceramic insert in my wood fireplace before winter arrives. In other words, I liked the company well enough to hire them again.

Did a great job inspecting and cleaning (really nice guy, too). I didn't have a spark arrestor, so they recommended installing one (which they did). Also needed some work done to the top of the chimney (water repellant to fill in the cracks..not sure what its called, but had that done too). Did a great job with everything. Would definitely use them again and even recommended they to my dad who has 2 fireplaces that need inspection.

Fantastic service!! I called this morning and Julie arranged an appointment this afternoon. Frank was on time. He made friends with Popeye (my dog) immediately. It is important to me to have Popeye's good opinion of people that are working In my home. Frank spent time discussing what he would be doing during today's visit. My home was built in 1925 when codes were very different. Frank explained the meaning of each term he used. Frank inspected the entire chimney outside including going up on the roof. He explained everything he found outside and what they meant with regards to the condition of the chimney. He cleaned and inspected the inside. He left the area cleaner that it was when he started. He again explained what he found and what it meant. Then we discussed what all the options I have regarding the repairs I need done. He listen very carefully to all my questions and gave me through answers. He made sure he understands what I want as the final look of the chimney both inside and out. We discussed the type of materials that can be used and what cannot be used. He checked to make sure if the area in front and beside the fireplace opening was within code and what needs to be done to bring it up to code. Frank said I will receive the estimate tonight or tomorrow at the latest. I like dealing with professionals like Frank. I am very confident he knows what he is doing. I did not expect this all to happen in one day.!! I am looking forward to having my fireplace repaired so I can use it when the nights are cool. I will keep you updated when the work is completed.

James came out on Saturday and did the chimney inspection. Unfortunately, he found a multitude of things wrong with it. Who knew chimney repairs could cost so much! We ended up with an estimate of almost $4,000 in needed repairs, so I am very glad we had the inspection prior to purchasing or using the fireplace! I called around to a few places prior to booking the inspection and Fiddler came in at the most reasonable number (many places charged upwards of $400 for an inspection). This weekend we are having the work done and I expect it to be a professional and smooth experience, just like the inspection was. James really seemed knowledgeable and was also polite, professional and easy to talk to.
