Fiddler On The Roof Chimney Service

I joined Angies list looking for good service persons and was not disappointed. It is extremely helpful to read reviews, for service providers, from different people. This is essential for forming an educated guess for selecting service providers with the least amount of trial and error possible.

We were advised that significant repairs were needed, due to missing mortar, heat shield replacement, cracked crown, smoke chamber gaps, damper problems, and were quoted $2500 for total. We decided to just get a crown repair & a rain gap at top of chimney to prevent further damage from rain. Later we got another estimate from a different firm and had them do more extensive repairs.

It was a great overall experience from the appointment set up until the completion of the job. Everyone was very professional, yet friendly. The work was completed quickly but thoroughly, including improving attachment of an existing chimney cap. James was very helpful and showed the old cover and how it was patched together and the cause of a chimney leak. Recommendations were given for future work without high pressure. I will use them in the future for any chimney work I need.

He showed up on time. The chimney had had a fire in prior years Took the extra time to get the chimney all clean, and left no mess at all. He explained everything to me as he did his job. great job.

It was a great experience. Our Chimney Sweep was professional and educated us A-Z on everything about our fireplace. He even removed an unneccessary part of the top of chimney put on cosmetically by the builder, but served no purpose for the chimney. I would recommend this company to anyone needing a chimney cleaning, inspection or service repair.

The service went very well. They were right on time and were very professional. They pointed out some items that could be attended to, and swept the chimney. They left the area very clean.

Overall good experience. The appointment was easily made, they showed up on time. They swept the chimney and repaired cracks in the fireplace and came back a few days later to install the smoke arrestor. We are happy because our chimney is safe for log fires, even though now we're considering a gas log! We would definitely use them again.

Making an appointment was simple, professional, polite and efficient. Technician (Marvin) showed up on time and was terrific. He explained what needed to be done in a clear and professional manner, performed the service and cleaned-up after himself. It was as good an experience as I've ever had with any kind of service.

From the first phone call to the completion of service, this company is very professional. The representative called prior to arrival to let me know when he would be there. When he arrived he was very professional and explained the job in clear terms. The repair was done in about 30 minutes with a quick sweep done after the repair with no mess, no fuss. Great job!

The service provided by them was very good. The guy who came out was very nice, prompt and informative. They then e-mailed us some pictures of our chimney. I think they have offices all over the place. I gathered some information about them from their website. They did a good job as well. Overall, they were great and it was as per our expectations. The price was about what we expected as well. We would use their services in the future too.

The estimate was very useful. We did not have the work performed by FOTR, but the information provided was useful for planning a renovation of the fireplace with a General Contractor. I would use them for repairs in the future and recommend others for similar services.

I was able to schedule an appointment for a Saturday. They gave me a four hour window of when the technician would come. James called me 15 minutes before he expected to get to my home. He showed up right on time and told me exactly what he would be doing. James was so clean, you wouldn't know he just came from another job. I have a firebox insert with a catalytic burner. The catalytic burner was an extra charge for cleaning. James inspected the firebox and flue, sealed the fireplace so no soot would get in my livingroom. He then swept the chimney. The catalytic burner was completely clogged. James was able to clean it out with an air compressor. It was very informative talking with James. He really knows his stuff! James showed me why the catalytic burner would need to be replaced in the future, and explained exactly how it works. He also gave me a good tip for lighting a fire on cold days. I will never call anyone else...these guys have my business from now on!!!

They were great. After the first chimney was serviced in the apartment complex that they serviced, the price was dropped for every other chimney. I could have them all available on the same day. It was great. They are coming back at the end of the month to finish the project because they noticed that the outside of the building where the chimney stacks go from the roofline up into the air were rusted and they needed to be replaced. They had to custom order and make it and they are coming back to that. They were terrific. They were very professional and very reliable. They were extremely clean too. I have a lot of high maintenance tenants that tend to live life king size, but if anybody else brings dirt into their apartment they just freak out. They are really clean. They laid everything down and covered everything up and made sure that all the dust would be captured. They cleaned the chimneys from inside the apartment up through the flue. There are pipes that extend about four feet up in the air when the roofline is up in the air. All of those had been corroded and rusted. They were the original piping since 1968 when the building was built. There was nothing that they could?ve done differently. I will be using them again in the future because keeping the chimneys clean is a job that should be done every couple of years.

Always a pleasure dealing with this company. The chimney was cleaned and we were advised to get trees around chimney safely trimmed back. Needed to replace firespark screen (the old fashioned type). A brochure was provided, measurements were taken, I placed an order then and there. The sparkscreen arrived but did not fit correctly. Fiddler on the Roof was not happy. They immediately called their supplier and a correctly fitting spark screen arrived a couple of days later and was installed. Efficiency, responsibility and punctuality as well as very personable people to deal with. An easy recommendation..

the cleaning went well, nothing out of the ordinary to report pro or con. during the cleaning a larger problem was discovered that good sense said 'get a 2nd opinion'. we went w/ the 2nd company because the fix and the price for it they recommended were more in alignment with our understanding of the problem. the date and price above are approximate as i don't remember exactly

It went well, and they inspected chimney also, and submitted a recommendation for additional services, which we havent done yet due to $ involved.

They were fine. I think I paid about $200 for that work. One fire box which has wood burning has a crack and the igniter in enclosed fire place is broken, but unfortunately the company that made it is no longer in business. I can?t have it fixed and if I wanted to I would have to have the whole fire place replaced. They were very much on time and the guy was very clean and he put down blankets and stuff so that there was no mess whatsoever and was very responsive.

The work more expensive than I expected, but I am satisfied with the work. I can now use my fireplace. They came out right away, and they cleaned the fireplace for me.

The workman was prompt, polite, professional and very complete. Took pictures of the complete working of fireplace, chimney, etc. Explained his findings, the repairs needed and the estimated cost. Emailed me copies of all pictures and reports.

Excellent experience. James was punctual, courteous and very knowledgable. I will definitely use this company again and ask for the same technician.
