They never contacted me after my purchase.

Fiddler on the Roof did a great job of cleaning my two chimneys. They were prompt, clean and through. The inspection report they gave was honest and helpful.

A few years later we sold our house. During the inspection the fireplace was deemed to be in need of a full repair. I showed the real estate agents the work order from Fiddler on the Roof. They said the inspection had revealed that the fireplace needed to be completely rebuilt. I recommended they get another opinion and they did. Same answer. In the end I had to discount the purchase price by $5,000 for the fireplace itself. What a shame this company continues to scare people out of their money. I called them again for my new house, and after looking at our inspection report (I emailed it to them) they concluded they same treatment would be necessary. $6,000. I did some checking on-line and realized this is scam service. It holds no long term value to the house. They overbid with the premise that no home owner wants to have dangerous fumes circulating in their home. Get a C02 detector and save yourself thousands.

Enrique was pleasant and professional. I called for them to clean our chimney because I thought that was what was causing the problem. He evaluated the situation inside and outside and said he thought it was the decorative metal piece on top of the chimney outside that was inhibiting the draw of smoke. He told me why he thought that. He said it would be a waste of my money to clean the chimney because it wasn't dirty enough. He pointed out a few other things about the fireplace. They took it off and sealed it up on the roof. He did a test fire to make sure the smoke was going straight up, which it was. He and his assistant always wore protective booties over their boots so they wouldn't track anything into the house. Both my husband and I were very impressed with his knowledge and professionalism. We would definitely recommend him to anyone.

Overall, we were pleased with it even though we didn't expect to pay more for the cracks. He cleaned it very well and kept the area clean with a throw cloth and plastic to cover the opening with a hole so he can vacuum the chimney.

Consumers beware - A Fiddler on the Roof Chimney Service exaggerates necessary repairs and associated costs, then uses scare tactics about the safety of the fireplace/chimney and your home if you don't pay them thousands of dollars to get the work done. Please obtain a second (and maybe even third) opinion before getting ripped off by this unscrupulous company. I have since learned that their service guys get paid on commission - which would explain the fear tactics they employ to make more money. I was quoted nearly $7000 for work they claimed was not only necessary and would involve use of toxic chemicals - but that use of the fireplace without doing the work would likely burn the house down. Obtained a second opinion and learned that the needed repairs were minor and ended up costing a small fraction of what Fiddler was quoting me. Second chimney company also told me that there was absolutely no risk of fire to the house even if the repairs had not been done. While sharing this story with a neighbor - she said she had the exact same experience with Fiddler, who quoted her thousands of dollars in "necessary" repairs and that her house was at risk of burning down if she used the fireplace. She also called another company, who found that any needed repairs were minor. Never again!

I worked with Enrique. He was very professional, explained everything that needed to be done and why. The work was done efficiently, on schedule, and no trace of work was left behind. He also gave me excellent tips for using my fireplace such as what woods to burn/not burn. I will definitely be calling the next time I need it inspected/serviced.

On time, professional manner, efficient, great communication, knowledgable ... after inspection, any issue and/or potential issue was reviewed in proper detail with pictures taken of areas with respect to my chimney and then shown to me on a tablet so things were very clear to me. The 2-man team that came out for service was on-time, professional, clean, and highly communicative in terms of what needed to be done and what may need to be done in the future should we experience other issues. We never felt "uphold", just informed, and they were in and out in a minimum of time. The repair work on the top of the chimney in our family room and the addition of a flue cap was especially appreciated when it started raining. We would definitely use Fiddler On The Roof Chimney Service again and highly recommend them.

We contacted the company because of a chimney issue. We had them come out and even give us an estimate. They were unable to complete the job due to a timing issue. They referred us to an excellent company that did an amazing job.

They went above and beyond the call. We are actually outside of their normal service area, but we were able to connect and they sent out two of their cleaners. They arrived on time, even though they were driving from the valley to the far Eastern edge of Los Angeles county. They immediately started on cleaning out the fireplace and inspected the exterior. They were done within two hours, as they had stated. They showed me some of the concerns they had with our fireplace. Our fireplace has some serious defects in design and turns out not to be up to code. We have a gas fireplace, but the flue doesn't have a required safety latch that keeps it from closing. Also, the crown of our fireplace is not adequate and is causing the fireplace to deteriorate. They used a camera to inspect the interior of the flue and showed me where there was cracking and damage to the flue walls and joints. Before leaving they provided me with an estimate of potential repair. As we are outside of their service area, they suggested that we look for another firm on AngiesList to handle our repairs. Until we can get that done, we are no longer using our fireplace. I appreciated the honesty and integrity to tell me what was wrong and not sugarcoat the seriousness of the condition of our fireplace.

The service was good. The chimney sweep took about half an hour.

Hired to inspect fireplace and chimney that was almost 60 years old and had been unused for several years. Inspector (Frank) arrived on time and thoroughly inspected the inside and outside aspects of the fireplace and chimney. He took photos and presented them with his recommendations for repairs. Chimney needed internal relining and repairs to the top on the outside. I agreed to the estimate and Frank returned a week later with an assistant (again on time) and proceeded to reline the inside of the chimney. They were unable to complete repairs to the top because of rain but returned several days later to finish the job. Communication throughout the job was excellent, with Frank explaining every step of the process and answering all my questions. He returned the following week to install a new spark screen in the fireplace opening. Their office called the day before each visit to confirm, and Frank called me when he was about 30 minutes away. All in all, a very professional company with first-rate customer service. I will definitely contact them for chimney sweeping and any future repairs that may be needed.

Scheduling was efficient. The service people were friendly and professional. They inspected the chimney and fireplace, making recommendations based on the inspection. The service visit was part of an Angie's Big Deal, so attempting to sell us further service was part of the visit. When we selected to purchase only some of the recommended service, they didn't push too hard. They left information should we decide to have more work done in the future.

Two very clean, polite, knowledgeable men came to my new townhome to inspect and clean a very old chimney. I was hesitant to use it without an inspection and I was glad Fiddler on The Roof did such a particular job. The thing was a disaster! He advised me not to use it and in fact it could even be dangerous as it has been rusted out on the interior for many years. This is a common condition from living at the beach. I am very grateful for the service and complete report provided to me. He also offered suggestions for dealing with the problem in the meantime as it is a costly fix - the entire chimney need replacing!

I never have someone clean a fireplace because I never have one before recently. The cleaning is quick, just cover the fireplace and he cleaned it by inserting a long brush from the roof..suck the debris out and thats it. After he left, I was trying to make sure the damper is in close position, but as I push ir...some remaining debris fell out..then its my time to suck it. I think they should do a more through check before leaving, I understand they might be timed on each job..but this shouldn't be a goal for a company, customer satisfaction is.

He came in and installed what he said he was going to do. He was very efficient. He did a very good job and cleaned up after himself. He had come before this to clean the chimney. He was good. He was prompt and very friendly. He cleaned out everything. He was real nice. He explained exactly what he was going to do.
