Very well. The only problem was I couldn't get an appt for about 2 or 3 weeks. , because they were booked.

As promised, the workers called 30 mins prior to arrival. They arrived within the allotted time and were clean, friendly and eager to help. After looking at my chimneys they informed me neither one needed to be cleaned at this time. In addition, they walked me through how to use the fireplace (new house, never had a fireplace before) and what types of woods were best. I will definitely use them again when I do have to clean my chimneys.

The representatives called 20 minutes before arrival and showed up on time. They found that our chimney was almost completely clogged and explained that it was due to using fire logs and not real wood. They swept the chimney and took great care not to make a mess. There was enormous amount of soot. They did point out that the gas line (which we do not use) that runs into our fireplace is not completely sealed and if we ever want to install gas logs that would need to be corrected to meet code. He gave me a price for that but did not mention any additional services. Both representatives were professional and friendly.

My gas fireplace was not turning on when i flipped the switch. I called for an appointment in mid November 2012 and I could not get an appointment until December 22nd. The price also seemed a little high but I needed to have the fireplace fixed for an open house. I would use them again but wish the appointments were not so far out.

It went fine, as described above. If you use their chimney sweep service, be aware that part of their inspection service is to sell additional services. Set a budget before they arrive or you may find yourself with a state of the art chimney that may not be cost effective! We are happy with our "improvement" however.

I hired this company to sweep and inspect my chimney. They gave me an estimate of more than $3000 to do necessary repairs and told me not to use the fireplace until the work was done. They told me I was required to have a chimney cap among other things. Because of the expense, I delayed having the work done. Since I am getting ready to sell my house, I asked my real estate agent if she thought it was necessary to do the work prior to the sale. She recommended another company - Right Way - and suggested I get another opinion before I had the work done. Right Way come out and told me that the city where I live does NOT require a chimney cap and recommended $300 in repairs, which included a chimney cap! Other repairs amopunted to about $200. Needless to say, Right Way will be getting my business.

Nice guys, on time, seemed honest - (I'll let you know when I get a second estimate). Good clean up, not afraid of my dogs, all good.

The overall appointment went well from the time of arrival through the clean up of the work area.

Provided a prompt, courteous chimney sweep. Took pictures of the interior of our chimney and informed us of bad cracking. Sent us an estimate to repair the fireplace which is very high. I haven't checked other services to verify if this price is too high or if it is just how much it will cost to repair our fireplace.

The company service man, Jorge, arrived in a very colorful truck. He was very polite and efficient. He checked the chimney for hazardous soot and did not find any. He proceeded to sweep the chimney with a metal broom like tool. He installed a raincap/spark arrestor and was on his way. We were glad to receive our discount with our Angie's List membership. The price seemed fair and since we did not receive any other estimates we will not complain.

Great service. Jorge was punctual and courteous. He did a great job on the fireplace and it looks beautiful.

Omar and Ivan were on time and got to work. Very careful to lay down pads and tape the opening. Cleaning went fast. New spark arrester installed while cleaning was being finished. Omar then did the video inspection while we watched. Plenty of obvious damage was found (Northridge earthquake probably). He carefully explained the need for the repairs and how they woulds be done. He was patient and vary knowledgeable. We have scheduled the rest of the work ASAP.

I used an Angie's List Big Deal for this project. There were a few things I did not feel like they followed through on. I actually came out and the chimney sweep was fine but it was my understanding that there was supposed to be a computer exam. The only problem was they don't give you any pictures of what they take; they don't show you that. If you want anything like that there is an additional cost. Basically you have to go by what they say; if it is there or not; which does not seem right. I saw what I thought were some pictures and I asked if I could have a printout so I could see them to show my husband what they were talking about but I never received any report and the guy who was here told me I would receive a follow-up report which I never got. They were not very responsive. The guy who came out was fine and spent a good amount of time here; probably more than he would have, partly because I think he was waiting to hear back from them on some things. He did the chimney sweep which is what I had asked him to do; that was obviously part of the deal. I think they had to cancel and reschedule their appointment but it was fine.

Ran the camera and detected some damaga, but I do not use the fireplace plus it was converted to gas many years ago. He gave is thorough cleaning, but had some difficulty accessing the back of the fireplace due to the size of the gas logs. Informed me that I need a cap, but really did not since this is a gas fireplace. I installed the cap (for code purposes in case I was to sell) along with the damper. He was did a great job and made me feel very confident that my chimney was in great shape.

They were very good! They showed up on time and did a neat job.

The team was on time, knowledgeable and helpful. The work was done efficiently and to my full satisfaction.

Had an inspection- for $49- and then an assessment of what needed to be done to make using my fireplace safe. The one essential thing was repairing cracks inside the chimney- and the estimate was $460. Had them come back out to repair the cracks- they were courteous, punctual, etc. I assume the work was done well- no real way to check. But my one word of warning is this: they were supposed to credit the initial inspection- $49- towards the cost of the repairs- $460. But when I was presented with the bill at the end of the job, it was for $460. I then had to gently remind that the initial $49 was to be credited. It wasn't a problem, but felt less than an entirely kosher. So keep an eye on the costs...

I hired Fiddler to come out and sweep my chimney, thinking it was necessary. The 2 gentlemen showed up at the scheduled time, and after inspecting the chimney from inside and out, told me that it was relatively clean and really didn't need sweeping at the time. They pointed out a couple of small masonry issues that they recommended addressing at some point, but said that neither was urgent. They ended up charging $49. for the visit, instead of the originally agreed $160. for a sweeping. Very professional, very courteous, and when's the last time somebody downsold a job? I love these guys.

Serviceman arrived and did his job nicely and cleanly. Recommended further repairs and left without pressuring to close sale.

Chimney cleaning went fine but the inspection was scary. Claimed firebox was compromised and needed extensive repair. Planning on getting a second opinion.

Just bought a house with a wood burning fireplace that hasn't been used in many years. My Home Inspector said the flue was broken but made no other comments about any issues with the fireplace. I am thinking of converting it to gas so wanted it inspected first. They said my flue was working fine. Hard to make a truly accurate comment until I get a second or third opinion, but my gut said they were trying to sell me way more than I needed. They wanted to sell me $3633 worth of services. If and when I get another opinion, I'll update this review.

He set-up his equipment and masked all the area with plastic and drop cloth so that he would not create a mess. He also went on the roof where he did the sweep downwards. Then he vacuumed the debris that came down and cleaned everything like new.

The initial chimney inspection and repair estimate cost $49, which was deducted from their invoice after the work was done. James came to the house. He was very polite and professional. He thoroughly checked our old fireplace and chimney including going on the roof and using a camera on a flexible line to be able to see inside the chimney on a small monitor. We discussed several options and he provided an estimate for a gas insert. Later we decided we only needed decorative gas logs and then adjusted the estimate. After negotiating on the price with Shari the office manager, I chose Fiddler from several other A rated chimney repair contractors on Angie's List. The day the work was scheduled James returned with another man. They covered the living room floor with thick padded blankets. The most time consuming task was applying mortar inside the chimney to create a smoother surface. They went in and out of the house a lot, but they shut the door each time. Some of the work involved being on the roof. The entire project took nearly a full day. Everything went well. We love having a working fireplace after only burning candles in it for 20 years, so we're very happy.
