Fiddler On The Roof Chimney Service

I really like them. They were very efficient and actually recommend some suggestion on what to do. Overall, they were very nice to work with.

This was a multi-stage project. First Jorge and a co-worker came to inspect a sweep my chimney a few days after Christmas. They cleaned it and found the chimney had some gaps in the flue joints and lots of baked on creosote that needed to be removed. There was also some deterioration in the smoke chamber. They showed me camera pictures of the problems as they found them. We scheduled two further appointments to take care of those problems. Also, I started looking at their gas log and fireplace door literature. Jorge and another person came back in a few weeks to do the repairs (requiring 2 visits) and brought and installed the gas logs I had chosen and ordered over the phone. I had also chosen a Design Specialities glass door to seal off my fireplace since there is no damper in my chimney and in the winter I can feel the cold breezes whistling through my house. The sales rep for the Design Specialities glass doors actually came to my house with Jorge to do the measurements on my masonry fireplace which is hand-built, unique and presented unusual problems for fitting a door to it. I placed the order for the door at the end of January but it was a special order and thus required about 6 weeks for the manufacture. When the door came from the manufacturer, Jorge brought it out to install. Unfortunately, even though the rep for Design Specialities had done the measurements, it did not fit correctly. We were momentarily stumped but then Jorge came up with an easy fix which just entailed a few simple extra pieces from the Design Specialities Company that we thought should be easy and quick for them to provide. However, the company thought differently and manufactured a much more elaborate fix which took another 6 weeks. Finally, at the beginning of May (over 4 months after we started the project) Jorge brought the doors back with the new piece and installed them. It didn't quite fit but he made some on the spot modifications and now it is securely in place and looks beautiful. I sincerely hope that I notice a difference in the draftiness of my living room next winter. Jorge and his co-workers are extremely neat and clean. Chimney sweeping could be a very dirty and messy process but they have it down to an art. They carry blankets with them and always cover the area around the fireplace while they are doing anything. They never made any mess. The house was always as clean after they left as it was before they came and the fireplace was cleaner. I have been extremely impressed with the Fiddler on the Roof Company throughout this process. Everyone who I have dealt with has been extremely pleasant and helpful. It was not the fault of Fiddler on the Roof that the fireplace door took so long to manufacture or that it didn't quite fit when it was finished. They were extremely conscientious throughout. Communications with the company were good and easy. There were several people who worked on my fireplace but Jorge was always one of them and was basically in charge of the project. I ordered the gas logs and the door from Julie in the office who kept me informed by telephone of the progress of the door and scheduled the necessary appointments. She was very pleasant to talk to. I will certainly use Fiddler on the Roof in the future for maintaining the structure and cleanliness of my chimney and any other problems associated with it. Although this project took much longer than expected and entailed more visits to my house, the final price was what we had agreed upon initially. I recommend them highly.

We were happy with the company and the service. They put in the spark arrester/chimney cap and inspected the chimney. There was no high pressure sale for additional services and the estimate was accurate. I would recommend them to others.

Provider was very punctual and very thoroughly cleaned my fireplace. He was also able to fix my flue which was stuck open due to rust. He was able to also make recommendations on things I didn't need to do in order to use my fireplace. I found him to be very trust-worthy and knowledgeable.

Went perfectly smoothly. Bought the deal for chimney cleaning for $99, and they came, covered up everything with tarp so that they didn't mess anything up, and did it in a timely professional manner. Seems like a great company.

My white carpet was miraculously kept clean, not one black spot anywhere. I inspected the chimney after the serviceman was done and it looked very clean. I don't think the previous owners ever had the chimney cleaned, if you use the fireplace every now and then its definitely something you need do. I'm pleased with the chimney sweep I got. Will use again in the future.

Was told it needed to be rebuilt. They were very helpful with suggestions, and the quote was very fair. We are waiting on doing the repairs due to lack of funds at this time. I highly recommend this company! Thank you for your help and expertise. Natalie

.The quote was very late to arrive so I decided to get a second quote. When the Fiddler quote finally arrived it was 40% higher than my second quote. I went with the quote from Armand's.. Installation is complete and everything looks great and works perfectly. I did not get an Angies list discount from Fiddler.. They said the inspection fee could be applied against further work.

I called them the day before and they came out the next day. Was on time and even called when they were 30 minutes away. They were very professional and even put on shoe covers to walk into my house. Chimney was cleaned from the inside since I had a 2 story house. Everything was clean when he left and I have no problems. I would highly recommend this company.

They are going to patch a section inside of the chimney instead of repairing the entire chimney. They were through & caring. I did not feel as if they were scam artists, I felt very comfortable with them. They followed up with out being pushy. They had very innovative ways to provide their services.

We called Fiddler. Their schedule was pretty full (it was holiday season), but they showed up on time and did the job requested. Oddly he didn't have one part on him we needed, and offered to sell a nicer version at a higher price, but when we declined, he drove back and picked up the right part and came back to install it. So all good. damper works great so far and no complaints.

Very good. I got another estimate from another company, which was $1000 higher and wanted to do unnecessary work (like install a new chimney cap even though the chimney cap had just been custom made only a couple years ago). These guys seemed to be focused on fixing the chimney and not trying to sell me unnneeded stuff. Nice scheduler. Came on time, kept the place neat. They did everything they said they would do.

The service provider was very professional and informative. I liked that they itemized the work that needed to be done so we can decide which ones to tackle and don't feel like we have to do it all at once. I would hire again.

They came on time, laid out a lots of sheets and draped cloths to keep everything else in the house from getting dusty. They took their time scrubbing to help lessen the amout of dust. One worked inside, one worked outside. When I asked a question I got a full answer and explaination. They told me I did not have a hood and asked if I would like them to install one. Gave me the price and I agreed. They told me about some cracks in the back of the fireplace that I was unaware of. I agreed to having that work done as well. No pressure, just seemed to be good honest suggestions. Kept the area clean, in and out in about an 1.5 hours. Very nice gentlemen!

We originally got this via a Big Deal to have our Chimeny Inspected, and the inspection showed that there were some cracks that should be sealed. We then had Fiddler perform this service, and the service was simply outstanding. Very nice individual (unfortunately I forgot his name since this was a while ago), who was extremely cordial and paid a lot of attention to detail. He had me check a few times to see if I could see any cracks as well, as part of showing me how they were sealing, and I pointed out 2 areas I saw and he re-checked and realized they could be sealed more, which prompted him to use his camera/spray gun in a unique combination that allowed him to see what he was spraying (since most of the time they have to spray, then send up the camera, then send up the spray, repeat, etc.). In any event, extremely cordial, friendly, professional, very nice attitude, and it was a pleasure having them perform the service. Fiddler will be the only company we call about our Chimney in the future and as long as we live in their service area.

They cleaned and inspected my chimney. They were professional. They showed me a video of the inside of the chimney and pointed out a small crack. Also they pointed out a small crack on the top of the chimney. There was no pressure to have any additional services done. We rarely use the fireplace so probably won't have this done again for a long time. Just nice to know that there is nothing wrong and that we now have a clean chimney.
