Fiddler On The Roof Chimney Service

We have had trouble with our glass and metal fireplace screen staying in it's bolted place for a long time. Last Christmas it fell over while guests were trying to hang up their stockings on Christmas Eve. This year we wanted it to be fixed and avoid the chaos. We called Fiddler on the Roof after seeing it on Angie's List. My first contact with the company was with Rayna who answered the phone. She was very nice and professional. She took down the information and we set up a time. She told me in advance who would be doing the work and that they would call 20 minutes before they were scheduled to arrive to let us know. I liked that. Omar Saenz arrived within our appointment window and came equipped with shoes slippers and a huge blanket to protect the carpet. Really appreciated that. We have sand colored wall to wall carpeting in our livingroom. We descirbed what had happened and he took a look at all the parts we had and had the whole thing attached and back in place very firmly in about 30 minutes. He, also, was very professional and pleasant. The price was excellent for all the service we received. So glad that we can cross that repair off our list before the holiday season this year.

Fiddler on the roof was a company I called to get a 2nd opinion on a chimney repair I was told I needed by another company. The representative actually took pictures of the work that was needed, unlike the last company and showed me that the other company was basically full of crap when it came to the repairs that I needed. They were able to repair my piping fast and easy. They were nice, courteous, and I had no problems with them at all.

He was very thoughtful and recommended me to have my gas line checked if I want to use it for starting the fireplace. That was a good idea since we have not used it since 2001.

The ordering of the insert, delivery, install, and completion took about 3 months to complete, but I am so very satisfied with the results. The brickwork was the most challenging to complete. I had a woodburning fireplace that was gas fitted, but had not had a gas log put in. We decided to put a fireplace insert (woodburning stove that fits into the fireplace) into the existing fireplace to heat the lower level of the house. We had a few bumps along the way and I got a little frustrated with the installer, but in the end I am very satisfied with the look and performance of the stove. The insert was supposed to fit right into the fireplace, but when it arrived, it did not fit and brickwork had to be performed. This was not anticipated and I suspect there was a mismeasurement, but they at the end of the day they did a good job and made everything right with no dispute on my end. It has taken me a while to write this review as I wanted to see how the stove operated for a whole season and how the brickwork would hold up. It was great. The brickwork looks natural (they had to find brick that matched as several bricks were damaged during the install, not due to any negligence, they were difficult to get out). I am glad I had the insert put in and glad it was Fiddler on the Roof who did it. I will be calling soon to get my chimneys cleaned again. This company is an honorable and trustworhty company.

I am thinking about getting gas logs, but before I do that I wanted to have the fireplace inspected since it has been over 20 years since it was last used. Omar called to ask if he could come a few minutes early to his appointment. I said ok, and he arrived shortly thereafter. Throughout the inspection, Omar was very good about showing me pictures and explaining how the fireplace and chimney should work safely. He started the inspection outside and it was immediately obvious there was not rain cap. Fortunately no animals had taken up residence. When he looked at the top of the chimney, he found a number of small cracks on the crown. He took pictures and explained how water will erode inner fire-retardant lining of the chimney and make it unsafe. He continued the inspection inside, and found that there had been a small amount of erosion. (At least with 20 years of rain, the chimney was pretty clean.) Again, he showed me pictures of where the inner lining was gone and I could see the brick exterior. He suggested a fire-retardant coating for this. He said that if I wanted to get gas logs, I should have the 3 issues fixed. If I decided not to get the logs, he would still recommend the rain cap and waterproofing on the crown to prevent any further damage. I decided to have all 3 repairs done. Omar seemed to work efficiently, did not get things dirty, and cleaned up when he was done.

The office was very easy to get a hold of and schedule the appointment. The technician, Jorge, was punctual and very professional. He was very careful to cover the floor with a dropcloth and cleaned the area thoroughly. I would use their service again.

Probably did a fine job cleaning chimney; however, made very many expensive recommendations for chimney repairs. Uncertain whether they were necessary.

They were good. It did not cost me more than the $99 big deal. Everything went perfectly. They cleaned up after themselves. They are real pros. I have used them long before I knew Angie’s List.

Everything was great. They came here. That is what they do; they go to your house. They have a little tube or stuff and they goop it on your windshield. It worked out fine.

Pretty straigh forward stuff. Looked at the chimney, the spark arrester and the firebox; cleaned the chimney. See you next year

George arrived exactly on time. He was very careful with his vacuum and other tools. He told me the vacuum would make lots of noise, so I went outside. George said he will provide a complete written report for me.

It only took a simple phone call to schedule an appointment for the next day. They arrived a few minutes early and were done well within the time period they said it would take to complete the work. The place was left clean. It was as smooth as glass getting this repair done. Great job!

I've used them twice already. Certainly had no reservation to contact them to install gas log in one of my rentals. Julie Nelson is very thorough and helped me to find excellent product with excellent pricing. Enrique, as usual, provides excellent service. I definitely will use them again.

I contacted the provider to do 1. chimney sweep, 2. install gas log. Enrique got there on time. Inspected and informed the chimney can only use manufacturer's gas log, not other brand names. He also said no sweeping was necessary. We only needed to pay for the inspection. What I like about this provider is they are honest and will pass a sale if it is not applicable to customer's needs. I used them for my Torrance property. Had no 2nd thought when my Brentwood unit needs inspection. Definitely will use this provider again.

My main attempt was to have them come out and clean the chimney. When the guy came out, he did an inspection because that was part of the deal. He gave me $3000 estimate to fix the chimney, I in turn had a second opinion and it turned out to cost a fraction of what he was trying to get me to get it fixed so I was not very happy with that. I doubt I would ever use them again. Price for $99 was fine. He did the work, he gave me an estimate that I felt after the second opinion was over inflated, I think they really need to be aware of what they do.

My experience overall went excellently. The staff was very friendly and professional. They were extremely punctual and the turn around time was minimal. I would highly recommend this company to others.

The dude that was sent out was really professional and courteous and did a fantastic job. Not a speck of dirt or soot was left behind when all was said and done. Will likely have to do some repairs and trust them to do a good job so will likely go with them in the future.
