This man is a con artist masquerading as a plumber. We made the mistake of hiring him after finding him through a Google search to fix a broken pipe under our kitchen that was leaking into the crawl space under our house. He told us that we needed "remediation" to clean it out and that would come with a $6000 price tag. We signed a strange contract that he presented (with provisions like recording every conversation), and before we'd even given him permission to start, he punched a hole in our wall. When we told him to stop, he (recording all the time) told us that we were in breach of contract and slapped a mechanic's lien on our house (which, thanks to this experience, we learned is faaaaaaaar to easy to do). We spent $3000 to have it removed, which was still better than paying him a red cent. Don't let this devil into your house.

DO NOT CALL!!! I had a plumbing issue and somehow ended up calling Dave (big mistake). He showed up half an hour later, talking a mile a minute and dismissing my suggestions on how the leak could be fixed. He wanted to cap the main line to my backyard by digging up my front yard and charging me close to $2000.00 and leaving me with no water line to my backyard. I signed what I thought was an estimate and he agreed to come back the next day to do the work. That night did some research and called some other plumbers and contractors for advice. Early the next morning I called Dave and told him what I wanted him to try. He said it would never work and that he would show me why when he got to my place. I called another plumber to come out and have a look. Dave showed up, barely dug up the leak and told me my clamp idea was not going to work. I asked if we could please try before cutting off water to my back yard and digging up my front yard. He refused. I told him I would like to get a second opinion. He went ballistic and started ranting about breech of contract and suing me. I offered multiple times to pay him something for his time and the minimal work he had done, but he would have nothing but the full $1800.00. I tried to reason with him about coming to some kind of agreement, he just kept threatening me with litigation. He drove off in an angry huff. The next plumber (Paster Plumbing) showed up shortly thereafter and put a clamp on the leak for $385. My water is back on and the leak is sealed for now. It was all very stressful. Do yourself a favor and stay away from Dave Bischof plumbing.

BEWARE ! I hired a plumber to come out and fix a jammed garbage disposal last year and had a very bad experience with David Bischof, Inc. I was charged 487.00 in services I never received. I am still fighting to get refunded. I called a company that I found online but did not research the company further. I was having problems with a jammed garbage disposal. The plumber David Bischof arrived on the scene and refused to do anything without me signing a contract. He just stood in front of the sink and refused to do anything without me agreeing to pay him money for the service call (was supposed to be free, right?) and give over my personal information. I felt pressured and very uncomfortable. I reluctantly agreed, he quickly determined that the whole unit needs replacement. I signed an estimate (of which I got no copy). The plumber never fixed anything. In fact, I had to hire another company to come in and replace my garbage disposal. David Bischof, on the other hand, just waited a few weeks, then, long enough but sure enough, he charged my visa card the full amount of $487 for a new garbage disposal plus installment. I found out about it only months later. I called him and requested a refund for the work not performed. He refused to pay back any amount, even though I was willing to pay for his visit. He did not deny the fact that the work was not done, I also provided him with photos and the receipt from the other contractor as he requested. He refused to pay any amount and just responded negatively about the other contractor's job. I now may need to go to small claims court to get my money back. This was a horrible experience. Avoid this guy at ALL costs ! It is guys like him who give a bad name to contractors. Please, be extremely careful when you hire someone to work for you, research the company, and check your credit card statements.

I was at work when my wife called with the blocked toilet story. We picked Mr. Bischof from a phone book. We ended up paying seven thousand dollars because he told my wife that the job would cost one thousand dollars and if he did this, there was a ninety percent chance that it would probably fix the problem. When that didn't work for more thousands he could try this and it was a nine-five percent chance that the problem would be fixed, when that didn't work for more thousand he could try something else and there was a ninety nine percent chance that the problem would be fixed. After already investing thousands we had to invest more to fix the problem rather than having already paid him thousands of dollars to send him home without the problem being fixed. Then if we wanted him to use the best router, the diamond router, it was another thousand. The total cost of the job was seven thousand dollars. I'm reporting it now because my mother in law had the same problem recently and it cost her near one thousand dollars. Twice during the job, he told me I misremembered things. I know I didn't because I was going to ask him a question about something he said, but I didn't ask it. When he told me I misremembered what he said, I thought of the question I was going to ask him about what he said. Do you believe that? Seven thousand dollars for a blocked toilet. I often wondered if things would have been different if I was home instead of my wife.
Description of Work: We had a blocked toilet and we needed our lines cleared of weeds.

Description of Work: He was very expensive in pricing. He took everything apart and kept trying to up sell us everything. It eventually never ended up getting fixed so our gas company came out and fixed it at no charge.

The traps needed replacing but couldn't be unscrewed from the pipe inside the wall. Holes were knocked in the wall and short portions of the pipes were replaced. Bischof had spent a few extra days looking for his drain-pipe unscrewing tool (like a giant pipe wrench), which couldn't be done. He took about 4-5 hours overall and charged me over $900 per replacement. We hadn't negotiated price previously, as the previous house occupant had used his services for many years and was very pleased with him, so I continued using his service on one job several years ago, which had seemed overpriced. This time, the parts didn't appear to be worth many hundreds of dollars, so it seems to me that he charged me about $400/hour for labor, which seems like gouging to me. He didn't clear the drain clog which had started the problem, and he left a leaky trap, which I called Michelangelo's Plumbing to fix. They were far more reasonable in their pricing.
Description of Work: Replace two bathroom sink traps.
