never got an opportunity to explain my problem. Lady said they don't travel 5 miles for any service

I signed up for Angie's list because I was tired of using the phone book or friends recommendations, etc. I found Banner and called them for an estimate. They showed up on time (I was actually 5 min late and they waited for me), but then, when it came to giving me an estimate, it seemed like the gentleman (Abbey Borghei) who showed up had no interest in giving me an estimate. He spent a total of 5 minutes at my home and left. He did not even bother to give me a card until I asked for it. Needless to say, he never called me with an estimate. It was a complete waste of time.

From the initial service call to the time he came out to fix the unit took about a week and a half. The only complaint I have is that I had to call him a week after our service call to inquire when he was going to be stopping by to fix our unit.

I called on New Years day and he came right away. He tried to fix it that day and was unable to complete it. He told me that he had to order the right part and probably would not be able to get it until Tuesday,1/3/2012. He called back on Monday, 1/2/2012 and said he had found a part that should work. He came that afternoon and put in the part and voila we had heat again. I will definitely have him back for maintenance every year.

Called office at 8:15; secretary took basic info and promised to have Abby Borhei, the owner, call me as soon as he came in, which was about 40 minutes later. Happily for us, he readily agreed to also take on the oddball job of swapping out the wine fridge unit. His schedule for the very next day was a bit light, and he figured he could make it mid-morning, saying he would call when he had a firm idea when he was actually going to be able to arrive. He hadn't called by 9:30, so I called the office; within two minutes he called me to report he still had 90 minutes to go, apologizing for not getting back to me sooner. At that point I had to get to my own office and took off, leaving my off-for-the-summer schoolteacher wife to deal with the issue. But Abby arrived right when he said he would, and with two helpers. Perfect. He sent a man to the roof to work on the compressor/condensor unit while he, his other technician, and my wife, dealt with the wine fridge. This proved to be a bit tricky, and took a bit of time. Once he got the thing in he insisted on reinstalling the doors to make sure the unit was cooling correctly. Then while the other tech was working on the heater/evaporator unit inside the house, he sat down and carefully wrote a LEGIBLE (!) explanation of everything they'd done on the work order/invoice, going over this in detail with my wife. He then called me at work to fill me in on the status of everything (and to let me know about a new electronic air filter unit from Trane that would fit where my existing Honeywell unit resides - hey, can't blame him for trying, and I am considering getting it the next time I hit an overtime jackpot). For the amount of time he and this crew spent, the $200 charge ($220 less a 10% discount which I assume was because I told him I found him on Angie's List) was very fair. For routine servicing on a similar unit that's been serviced within the last year or two he says he charges more like $90. Very reasonable especially as he isn't charging any travel time. What I haven't noticed on the other reports on Banner is that Abby is a certified Mechanical Engineer - that was his college training. When you've got a challenging AC/Heat job - which admittedly, this particular job was not - having someone with the M.E. training along with years of experience in the trade can be invaluable. He is also among a select group of Trane-certified contractors who Trane formally uses to provide critical feedback on their products, giving the company valuable information on how the products behave in the real world. Again, that level of experience and knowledge of the entire field is valuable. Additionally, my wife reports that Abby had a lovely and warm manner, and that can go a long way to make the often awkward experience of having workmen in your home more pleasant. Will definitely have Banner back.

I had them do some work for my mother's house. The motor went out on my mom's heater so we had to have that replaced. They did a good job. They came for the initial appointment pretty quickly, but we had to call them to come back and fix the heater. It took a week for him to come back after he initially came out.

They were quick, polite, and friendly. Added some Freon to the condenser, and improved the air circulation by moving an air duct. Gave me the Angie's list 20% discount after mentioning I found them here. Good people, call Abbey today.

Banner Air Conditioning Company was excellent. The name of the owner of the company is Abbey. We wanted to use someone local so I checked Angie?s List and he was listed just a mile from us. He was very prompt in coming in here. Our Air conditioning unit was no longer working and he was willing to talk to a person that we knew, about the problem. So, Abbey spoke with his person who was an expert in that field. It was great that he was willing to do so where as other owners of a company might be reluctant to talk to someone outside. Abbey also faxed that person the bids. That person from the other company took a look at the bid, thought it was fair and so we accepted the bid on the contract. We didn?t look at anybody else or any competing bids as we wanted it to be fixed immediately. Abbey was able to communicate well with them. He was really trying to get things done for us before Christmas as the heating and cooling unit decided to go out at that time and he made it happen two days before Christmas. He had a crane out here and had the unit put on top of our house, even though he knew that we wouldn?t be home. We had explained to him earlier that we had another commitment at that time. He took care of that and the next day he and his crew were here. Abbey had the air conditioning unit working by the end of the day. He really wanted to make it happen for us as we didn?t have any heat for Christmas. He was terrific and the job was perfected beautifully. His willingness to speak to someone else outside his company to get the job done was commendable. We really wanted to select somebody who was local, which Abbey was and he was good too. We had flowing recommendations on him. We also got to use the Angie?s List discount coupon with him. In fact he gave us a better discount. I was going to get $20 with the coupon and I think he took off $600, which was a significant amount. I would certainly use Banner Air Conditioning Company in the future and would also recommend them to other people.

I found them on Angie's List and used them a few years ago so I called them again. They did a really good job. I told them cost was a factor so they gave me 4 options. I opted for the most expensive unit but it was a better unit with a longer life and was going to save me a lot of money with my bills and I got a rebate for energy efficiency. They presented a good case for it. They had a lot of good ideas. They also moved ducts to more efficient locations. It was great. The house is really warm now and, hopefully, will be cool in the summer.The price was fair for what I got. I would recommend them. It really made a difference in our house.

These guys are great. They replaced the entire hvac system in two days. What really impressed me was their replacing one bathroom vent, which was an odd size. This had Abbey traveling around LA to find a new one - and he did! Abbey was very helpful during the evaluation of my old hvac system and ideas on what system to replace it with. He has a lot of experience and is completely dedicated to his work! I highly recommend him to anyone who needs hvac work done.

I spent 6 weeks trying to get estimates to fix one of the two furnaces in my high-rise apartment. During that period the other furnace broke. The job was complex because the furnace is secured to the cement slab above a drop ceiling. The vendor needed to remove the 200 pound furnace to get access to the broken blower motor. In the meantime my other furnace broke. Banner came back twice to look at it, then returned with four guys and fixed both furnaces in a matter of hours.

He explained to me that it would not be worth repairing the heating unit.

Called Banner and they came right away. He charged a fraction of what other people wanted to charge me and he got us up and running in no time. The heater and A/C we got is so a lot more efficient than what we had.

Very punctual and professional. The owner and two helpers came when estimate was given and again two days later when work was done. When I asked I was told the work and the replacement of the part would take about 90 minutes. One of the two helpers did no work whatsoever and the other did the actual work of changing the inducer which took about twenty minutes. The owner checked some wiring. I was a bit dismayed by the time actual spent on the repair given what I was told prior to agreeing to the work being performed at the estimated cost. I asked that the A/C be looked at and the freon level be checked. They did check some A/C wiring but wanted another appointment this coming summer to check the freon.

The technician who came out was nice and was a real sweet man. He took care of the problem and got the job done. He also told me what needed to be done. I wasn't able to locate our normal heating and AC technician. If both the companies come out and if the previous company is busy, then I would definitely use the services of Banner Air Conditioning.

Company responded immediately to my call and followed up with a meeting. I found them to be punctual and very informative relating to the time, cost, and explanation of work to be performed. Very pleasant people to deal with. I will use and recommend them in the future.

The owner, Abbey, responded to my call and told me over the phone what the problem probably was. He then came out, inspected it and wrote up a proposal for the work based on my needs and ability to pay. He then went over it with me, explaining it and showing me the problem. His workers then came in and worked two days on it, after which Abbey came back to inspect and discuss it w/me. He also gave me a $200 discount. He was very professional and repaired all the work that had been so badly done before.

The company has had experience with studios previously, so they understood the necessity for a quiet system. Once they figured out that I was not looking for the cheapest solution, they were able to specify a good solution. Installation was quick, clean and professional. I will use them again when I replace the main unit in my house.

Abby is a real professional and a pleasure to deal with. His staff seem to know exactly what they are doing as well. We have a new furnace, plenum and air conditioning coil. He spotted additional work which needs to be done on our other furnaces and airconditioning condensor. Cost of the new unit is stiff, but his work and the new unit seem to be performing quite well. We have a change in the type of filter used on the intakes for all furnaces now and it is quite an improvement in indoor air quality.

We had three different contractors inspect and give estimates. The owner of this company (Abbey Borghei) clearly had many years of experience, but we felt he was the most honest and trustworthy person we met with. This turned out to be true. Abbey answered all our questions with patience, he helped us research financing options, and his company was ready to commence almost immediately. His company had a triple A rating at BBB and an excellent rating on Angie's List as well. Abbey supervises all the installation himself, which definitely was reassuring to us, but his team of installers were punctual, polite, experienced and professional. Abbey understood that our system breakdown was completely unforeseen by us and tried to give us the best service and highest quality air conditioning/heating, while still being mindful of our financial situation. Also, our new system had a much higher Seer rating than the old one, so there was a bit more noise in the in the vents than I had expected. Abbey worked to address this problem and our system is now very quiet. The air in the house seems much cleaner and the new system is definitely more efficient. We would strongly recommend this company, and will use them again for any future servicing.
