 + -1 moreThere were unacceptable delays in work promised by him, and much of the work and permits paid for were never delivered. There were countless unreturned phone calls, unexplained delays, and missed deadlines during our association with him. We have since hired an attorney (to whose letters Mr. Zajda has never responded) and the Contractors State License Board has begun investigation of him. He has ignored our repeated requests for a refund or documentation of how our monies were spent, and to the best of my knowledge he has also failed to respond to the CSLB investigators.
Description of Work: We have paid contractor Mike Zajda, License # 380914, a total of $48,604.78 to prepare our lot in Fallbrook for a manufactured home. He basically did only the grading and got a septic permit, but no other work was performed in the 23 months, and we finally canceled our contract with him for failure to perform.

 + -1 moreAT FIRST MIKE WAS VERY ACCOMMODATING. HE HAD CREWS AT OUR PROPERTY IN A TIMELY MANNER. ALL CARPENTRY & ROOFING WERE GREAT. THE CONCRETE IN THE CARPORT HOLDS WATER. THE FINISH WORK WAS NOT THE BEST-ACCEPTABLE-BUT BARELY. TO DATE, HE HAS SEVERAL ITEMS THAT STILL NEED TO BE DONE IN ORDER TO GET OUR FINAL. ONCE HE GOT ALL HIS MONEY, HE LOST INTEREST IN FINISHING THE PROJECT.
Description of Work: MIKE CONTRACTED TO OBTAIN PLANS, PREPARE A HOUSE FOUNDATION, A 24 X 30' GARAGE, AND A 24 X 30 CARPORT. THE CONTRACT INCLUDED A PAYMENT SCHEDULE AND A PROMISED COMPLETION DATE OF 90 CALENDAR DAYS.
