System is working properly. It took a day or two longer than predicted because our installation was complicated by multiple roof sections.

It's a lease, so I pay monthly. I pay per kilowatt. My system generates about 19,000 to 20,000 kilowatts per year. Basically, I'm prepaying my electricity if I had it through Edison. Solar allows me to pay a flat rate for an X amount of power and anything extra, I use from my power company. The majority of my power comes from solar at a fixed rate. I have a 3500 square foot house and two air conditioners, during the summer, if I run them all day, my electric bill was $850 to $900 a month. Solar cut it down to one-third of that. Green Converges is a really good company and I have referred them to three other people. I was very happy with all of their work and they were professional. The installation was very good.

Description of Work: Green Convergence was one of four solar providers I consulted about having solar panels installed on my roof. Their initial proposal was for their highest quality/highest priced product which was more than $15,000 greater than the next highest proposal. When I rejected that proposal, the salesperson began suggesting cheaper products and less effective coverage options, hoping to at least close the deal. It seemed that their objective was to sell me the most expensive product they could convince me to buy without serious regard to my actual needs. I ultimately chose another provider who began by assessing my energy needs and usage and making a creative proposal that met those needs at a competitive price.

Went to Green Convergence office for an estimate to install a Sun Power System on our roof. The visit made me feel like I was in a used car dealership. I was shown a layout that clearly didn't take any time for them to prepare and after an Eagle View was performed they dramatically updated it. We were presented a price and then told that and quot;just this one time a yearand quot; Sun Power was offering a special discount, but that we only had about a week to take advantage of it. I contacted other Sun Power providers in the week to follow and found out that NO SPECIAL from Sun Power was being offered or has EVER been offered. They tried to sell me an installation that would remove my 13 year old concrete roofing tiles (high quality) and sink the panels into the roof creating a low profile look and they said that the and quot;newand quot; roof (my roof is NEW) made from composition shingles would be guaranteed for 50 years. I've received multiple other bids including one from another Sun Power dealer and found that their prices are crazy high. This is a dishonest company and you should stay away from them.

Response from SunPower by Green Convergence
Dear [Member Name Removed], Thank you for taking the time to detail your experience with SunPower by Green Convergence. I would like take this opportunity to clarify a few things and shed some light on any possible misunderstandings that may have occurred. During the month of February we were, in fact, able to offer a Manufacturer’s discount that was exclusive to SunPower by Green Convergence. Due to a record number of large sales, SunPower by Green Convergence was able to offer a volume discount due to economies of scale. This is the discount that we passed along to you. The practice of removing existing tile to install a Composite roof before installing solar is done for many reasons. However this is not only a Green Convergence recommendation, but one that is specified by every new home builder that is installing solar with tile roofs. The most important reason this is done is the customer’s peace of mind. Now, along with the 25 year warranty on their SunPower solar array they have a 50 year warranty against leaks under their solar array which is transferable to a new owner if they decide to sell their home. The National Roofing Contractors Association is already reporting, as are many of the industry trade magazines, that one of the biggest problems for homeowners with solar is the cost of removing a solar array to repair roofs and then having to re-install solar. The cost for removal and replacement of the array is ranging between 30% and 50% of the initial costs to install the solar thus negating most of the financial benefits of installing solar, this does not include the costs to repair the roof. The SunPower by Green Convergence installation technique eliminates this risk for the homeowner. We offer the most efficient, longest lasting and best warranted panels in the industry. We move vents when necessary to give a symmetrical installation. We run no exposed conduit and install equipment in the garage rather than on the side of the house to protect it from the elements. As SunPower’s first Master dealer in, we hold ourselves accountable to building the most valuable solar power systems on the market. Please read our Yelp reviews and our reviews on the SunPower site. You’ll see why SunPower chose us as their first Master Dealer. Thank you for taking the time to review your experience, and we hope to have clarified your concerns.

Three crew members showed up and replaced to board and roofing in about an hour. They painted the new board and installed it under the lifted roofing. Job looks perfect. Very please w/ their service. They are installing a new roof and solar panels on our neighbors roof and I have noticed that they are paying attention to every detail.

Work required reinforcing old roof built to old 1970 building code, then install solar panels, inverter, etc. for a full solar system. Original reinforcing work was not correct. After we called, the president personally inspected work, insisted on starting over and adhering to a standard well above what was required. Current work is excellent, panels are attractive and installed very well. We've just received our first full Edison bill with the new system (December) and we owed $4.51 to Edison! We couldn't be happier. p.s. Green Convergence has beefed up their initial assessment process so that mistakes should not be made in the future.

They removed the 40 year old roof and replaced it with new one. They were exceptional. They were the low bidder and they knew what they were doing. When it came to the tear down of the roof, they really did an exceptional job by replacing wood panels one by one as it was a very old roof and there were several areas where there was wood routs and some roofers just clad over that and put the new roof on top of it. Everything they did was built and would last long and guaranteed. I also called him yesterday to borrow the tarp and he has an enormous tarp and he brought it over and handed it over to me. The customer service is excellent. The owner is very safe and has insured each person for two million dollars and I think is very good. He also called the soler to check the condition of the doors. He just went above and beyond his way to do the work. I think they were just amazing and the lowest bid was just $2000 more than this and getting everything for just paying $2000 more. There were three additions made to the house. They created a valley and the valley was the source of the problem for many many years. They had a piece of steel custom engineered to create more of a rise of a run or fall so that the water could drain out more efficiently at a 140 angle and the heater was a amazing thing as it was the highest quality material. My neighbor also is a roofer and he watched him like a hock and told that he was the best guy that he had ever seen. I was very lucky.
Description of Work: I used Green Convergence for roofing. The last time I used them was in February this year for full roof removal and repair of 2300sqft.
