Welcome to one of the greatest Jeykll & Hyde acts i have ever seen. These seemingly charming old timers at Roman Shades by Ray have recently relocated into a smaller space. I commenced them to make THREE drapery panels to run on TWO tracks in January with 50 percent payment. I checked with them periodically and was always told "We're almost there..." or "Just waiting on..." by either George of O'Dell. By March 1, I called and was told that they were ready to install... they just needed the balance IN FULL before showing up. I said, look, I'm not going to drive down there again for the h*** of it... have your guy come and I'll hand him a check when he walks in... plus, paying for service in full before I'd seen A THING didn't seem right. I was then told I probably never dealt with "design professionals" before, was told the time for "complaints was passed," and didn't I pay attention to what I signed?(Could I have been so foolish? Turns out no... I checked the paperwork. NO WHERE does it say payment must be in full for them to release your fabric and show up. BEST PART: When I went to drop off my balance and insisted on knowing my install date they said THEY COULDN'T TELL ME and would let me know in a couple days. When I bridled at that, I was called "a whiner," "a motherf*cker" and, strangest of all, "a democrat" and told to "leave before something happens." The panels arrived in my house this morning. The dimensions bear no resemblance to what was ordered. And, like others said, there's a bunch of hardware and crap that I didn't ask for or order. When I called and asked what they wanted to do to make me feel whole or correct this, George said, "Nothing." At best these are shabby craftsman and businessmen for whom their "over 50 years in this business" is the trump card in every disagreement. At worst this is a "gotcha" operation that holds up your materials, gets 100 percent payment KNOWING that they're never going to follow up the order or correct their mistakes. And there are mistakes. If you value your time, money, or have a modicum of self esteem please avoid these guys. They are bad, bad pennies.

These people were unbelievably rude and arrogant. They do not mention that you must pay 100% before installation. When I asked what recourse I had, they said "we've been in business for 40 yrs. and that's how we do things" The work itself was sloppy. They installed hardware that I did not order. They were terribly late. They hung my drapes unevenly. Worst of all when I called to tell them of my dissatisfaction they replied "we don't talk to customers directly. we only talk to designers" it was amazing to me that any business could be so obnoxious and rude in this economy. do not deal with them!!!
Description of Work: Bought and installed draperies for two rooms and roman shades for two additional rooms.

Nightmare!!! Whatever you do go somewhere else! I?ve never dealt with a more unpleasant company. They insist on 100% payment upfront and then proceed to mess up one thing after another and not take responsibility for their mistakes. They basically ignored what I ordered and gave me the wrong hardware. The installation was a mess. They used mismatched brackets and hung the curtains at different heights! When I tried to get them to fix any of the problems, I was met with utter rudeness and attitude. They have absolutely no customer service at all whatsoever. The whole process was a nightmare. I can?t even explain how frustrating these people are and what a terrible job they did. Do not use them!
Description of Work: I hired them to make and install curtains and roman shades for a client's home.
