I hired Keith to redo the entry to my home. His bid was pretty good compared to the others I got. I checked his references. He seemed professional and knowledgeable so I hired him. Keith poured all new large concrete pavers in front of my house. Unfortunately the pavers never set up properly and they have gigantic miscolored blotches in them. They look horrible. Within a few months two of the pavers had gigantic cracks that ran across the width of both of them. 6 feet of cracks in basically new pavers. I asked Keith about it and he said he would repair it. He did not. Within weeks of installing the new irrigation system the brand new sprinkler heads he installed burst or entirely blew off the pipes. When I called Keith about it he sent someone out to repair the sprinkler heads but it must have been at least 10 of them that exploded over several weeks. The head closest to the main line also completely exploded and had to be replaced. A lot of water was wasted by the sprinkler heads that were malfunctioning. Finally, a valve that he installed that controlled the entire sprinkler system burst in front of my house causing a massive flood and over $6000 in water damages to my home. I had to have a remediation company come in and dry out the flooded portions of my home in order not to have mold issues. Fans, dehumidifiers, wet carpenting, it was a gigantic mess. When the pipe burst I called Mike's Valley Plumbing who responded immediately. They replaced the valve Keith installed and put in copper pipes. When I told Mike about all of the sprinkler heads that were bursting and with this pipe almost broken in half Mike immediately guessed that the pressure was too high. He put a pressure gauge on the line and lo and behold it was 150 psi. Waaaaaaay too high. Mike immediately installed a pressure regulator and all of the broken sprinkler heads and have not given me trouble again. Keith arrived at my home to see the broken valve and Mike's team replacing it. He also saw the water damage on the outside of my house but declined my offer to see the flooding all over the inside of my home. He claimed that it was not his fault and that he should not be held responsible for the water pressure coming into my home. He is completely incorrect. As a licensed contractor he should have realized that the sprinklers were breaking apart due to excessive water and installed a regulator. Mike from Mike's plumbing guessed the problem immediately. One of the things that impressed me about Keith was his responsiveness to problems. He seemed to genuinely care about making sure the work his company did was good. However, if you look at the terrible, blotchy, miscolored concrete pavers in front of my house you'd know they were installed improperly. The fact that gigantic cracks appeared in them within a few months of being installed is unacceptable. Yes concrete can crack but brand new pavers with huge stress cracks. Obviously he did something wrong there and I will have to spend even more of my money to get them fixed. These are tough times, people don't have a lot of money to spend. I don't think most business owners would be happy with these results for their customers. In fact, most would be horrified. This entire experience has been frustrating. I paid Keith thousands of dollars to make the front of my home beautiful. I always paid on time and in full. In the end I have $7000 in flood remediation bills and an entry that is cracked, blotchy and looks completely unprofessional and I've paid for it in every way.
