Right Way Garage Doors

The service was great. They were prompt and I haven’t had any issues since. They were friendly, courteous and efficient.

I purchased this deal on Angie's List after doing some research on how much it cost to purchase and install a garage door opener. The deal from Angie's List flashed on the screen when I was looking at different vendor. $450 for a new 1/2 horse power garage door opener seems to be a good deal. A brand new opener off retail can already set you back $350 - $400. I purchased the deal via Angie's List. Chandler's Garage contacted me the next day to arrange installation. There was some initial mixed up because the address of the new home, where the installation is needed, is different from the registered address on my Angie's List account. I am not sure if that's an Angie's List issue or not but the vendor did not get the notes that I wrote on the order. Anyhow, I spoke with the lady Michelle at their office and sorted things out. Michelle was most helpful and courteous. The installer came within the slotted time frame. The actual installation took about 2 hours. The installer explained everything to me and tested all the safety features. He even lubricated all the moving parts of the garage door for me. The overall experience was excellent and I would not hesitate to recommend their service to anyone. Teddy Chu

Unfortunately, they had a big job earlier that took longer than expected. They did call and reschedule for later in the day. It was late afternoon when they arrived, however, they were very professional and knowledgeable about the door opener and it's problems. Fixed it quickly and efficiently and were done within an hour. Wish we had called them sooner.

My 1948 garage door came out of alignment suddenly. These guys promptly came to the rescue. Great!

When I talked to Michelle at the company she told me that the discount only applied to the higher priced door despite what the ad said. I was still willing to consider their business and agreed to have an estimator come to my house between 9am and noon. At noon Michelle called and said the estimator would arrive in 45 min. At that point I canceled the appointment and gave up on this company.

Great. the tech was early, but had called prior to arrival as he was supposed to do. Professional and courteous. Provided a good amount of information and answered questions.

They were not pushy salesmen, which I appreciated.

All went well and we were happy with the work.

Arrived on time, inspected unit and adjusted door. After servicing, our old unit is good to keep on going.

I first went to their (unmarked) office based on other reviews here. The sales representative showed me door samples (they only carry one brand) and window-screening samples. I picked one that I liked, and scheduled an evaluator to come out and give me an actual quote at my house. That's fine. The evaluator was on time, but had no record of what I had discussed with the office person, even though the latter had written down everything that we discussed. So I went over the evaluator's materials, but the window-panels that I really liked were not represented in his materials at all!! I tried to describe what I'd seen at the office, but he just said "no, we don't have anything like what you are describing, all we have is what is here." When asked about the discrepancies, he said "yeah, the guy in the office doesn't really know the business very well." Of course, that does not address the fact that the office person had shown me physical displays that definitely existed, but I just dropped the subject at that point. He took measurements, we wrote up a contract, and he said another person would call me tomorrow to set up an appointment for the work to be done. Well, she did so, and I took a day off work to meet them at the house for the installation... but then she called me at 4PM the day before the installation, and said the door wasn't ready yet, we would have to postpone for another day. As it turns out, I can change days off pretty easily at my job, but not everyone can!! I think that if their deliveries are not that reliable, they should hold off on scheduling appointments until they have the door. Okay, I acknowledge that none of these issues are real show-stoppers, but I just had an over-riding feeling of dealing with sloppy, unprofessional people all the way down the line, from the un-marked white building with no company name, to the sales people who don't know what their product lines are, to the schedulers who don't keep their schedules. If I hadn't already given a significant deposit, I would have just cancelled the order at that point.||HOWEVER... the installers were an entirely different story!! Although they were a half-hour late arriving, they were fast, efficient, careful, clearly answered my questions about how the installation would take place, and did a superb job!! I was very pleased with their work, and the door was installed very well. Overall, I'm still not sure I would deal with them again (even though said Yes in the question above)... I suspect that I would try someone else and compare the experiences. Hopefully this door will be reliable, and I won't have to worry about it for a few years.

Early in Dec 2013 I requested investigation of malfunctioning Garage Door. We had previously used Chandler under home warranty so we called them first. Rep inspected door and informed us: 1. Top "slab" of door broken; one spring broken. Normally he said they would replace the slab, but in this case, the slab supplier was out of business. He told us he thought we could reuse the power train. He proposed a "mid range" replacement for about $1150. I thought the price was a little high, but I wanted a solution right away. Several days later, crew appeared and replace the door as specified. Door seemed to work ok on superficial test runs, but several days later, Unit started to stall 1/2 way down and blow the onboard breaker from time to time. I called for service and the operator told me only the door was under warranty; they would charge $75 for the service call if the problem was not with the door. Two guys came out: apparently one with experience and one learning the business. They talked and poked around without much result. Finally, while I was watching, one of them moved a bundle of wires atop the power unit, and you could see the loose connections spark at the screw panel. I thought this was a likely cause of the problem -- loose connection of these wires during installation. The service team tried to get $75 from me but I claim the poor connection was the result of faulty installation. We finally settled on $40 cash (IRS please note). Cure is not complete, but I have had better results working with UTube on ideas. Since I have a PhD in Electrical Engineering, I am somewhat better equipped than most customers, but I lack the field experience for this use case. If I need to call in the calvary again, I don't plan to call Chandler.

Michelle, I believe, who arranges the calendar was very responsive with the angies list initial quote. George provided a full replacement quote as well, which was good to know but I ended up not wanting to do the entire replacement at this point. Larry just finished the repair work. I shifted the service window time at the last minute and they still were able to get me squared away and did a super fast job (which I was hoping for since I had to take care of other stuff). He knew exactly how to open the case in seconds. The plastic gears were shredded. He had the door up and working in minutes. He also went above and beyond with lubricating the door parts and tightening the screws. "A" job. The only reason I gave a B on the price is because the estimate was a tad lower than the actual part. Still within reason though and I didn't mind paying that total cost.

Great guy - we were able to quickly book an appointment. He assessed that we needed to have the door lubed and made necessary adjustments. The door works perfectly now.

The two man team arrived a few minutes late (but had called well in advance to update their arrival time: very much appreciated). They set to work and completed the cable replacement (one had snapped...) then set about the tune-up. Very professional, both on site and in setting up the appointment (front office).

Good service. Updated the garage door rollers and services the remote.

Chandler Garage door arranged to install 2 new roll-up Garage doors on my tri-plex property. The old ones were there since it was built (1971) and it was time to upgrade to newer insulated metal rollup doors. The technicians were on time and punctual, in fact, they were 30min early. I will use their service again in April to install the final door. Great Company with professional technicians who answered all my questions. A++ Service!

My garage was bent a little bit and weatherstrip was off the garage door. I called in then emailed photos to Michelle and asked for quote. She said she will have technician take a look at photos tomorrow. I called in next day then she replied my email later with quotes. She said Larry is not sure if exiting can be fixed. If just simple fix, service fee is $85. If I need a new weatherstrip, that will be additional $90. I scheduled an appointment next day and asked them to call me 20 min before the service. My window was 11-1. I got a call around 12:49pm. Larry showed up 20 mins later. He straighten my garage door and put back the old weatherstrip. Whole service was less an hour. He told me the door can not be fully straighten but it is not going to affect the performance. He was very patient and answered all of my questions. He also did safety checks before he left. He is very knowledgeable and professional. Overall, I am very pleased with Larry's service. Highly recommend.

My wife was there. I think they fixed it within an hour and they were pretty quick. They came over here quickly.

Great! The estimator showed up on time, he measured carefully and gave us an estimate. We then went to Chandler's showroom in Fremont to check out the various types of doors, and we placed our order. Since we ordered our door in a non-standard color, we were told delivery would take at least 3 weeks, which was OK with us. But less than 2 weeks later, we got a call telling us the door would be in much sooner than we expected. So we scheduled a day & time for installation. The installers arrived within the 2-hour arrival window they gave us, and they did a thorough, careful job. They made sure we understood how the opener mechanism and the remotes worked, the suggested maintenance, safety precautions, and such. About 3.5 hours after they arrived we had a nice new garage door, with a *quiet* opener mechanism, and they drove off with our old door and opener. We could not be more pleased.
