Ambience Designs- Denise Rossi

First work began in late September, 2010. It was supposed to be a four-day job completed by the middle of September. Instead they began to tear out and did not reassemble a functional bathroom until after Christmas. The new cabinets were the only really good part of this whole experience. I discovered that they doors were not made by them so that may explain why. The Corian shower was also not installed by them and the part that was, the shower pan and hardware were poorly done and resulted in minor damage to the ceiling below the shower when they appear to have dropped a heavy object damaging the drywall below them. Many design features were omitted from the final project and Bob Rossi, the owner's husband who does the work, seemed unaware of many features so I think they just didn't communicate with each other. Since much of the work was completed when I was not home, it was always a surprise to find out #1, if they had done anything that day/week/month, and #2 if anything was as expected. Attempts were made to substitute the quality of fixtures and many things I had to purchase online since Ms. Rossi did not do so as foretold. The work was terminated at our request in April of 2011 so that we could complete the remaining work ourselves or with another contractor. The list of all of the shoddy work, design errors/omissions, and lack of professionalism is too long to go into here. Suffice to say that my experience appears to have been one of the least gruesome relative to other customers from what I have learned since that time. It has been a learning experience from which I hope others may learn as well.

Horrible experience. They never completed the project. They asked for materials money for granite and all materials then used the money for something else. Went on a 3 week out of the country vacation Nov1 2011 came home, filed bankrupcy (Chapter 13) to protect themselves. There are 5 projects that are unfinished and none of the subcontractors have been paid. They abandoned my project when it came time to fess up for granite installation (they hadn't even purchased the granite) and cupboard fronts. There is about 1/4 still unfinished but it is a pricy 1/4. We will have to purchase the granite (after giving them the money to purchase) and hire someone else to install. Bob Rossi's contract license is expired and he has no bond; but still represents like he does and continues to contract. The 5 owners of the projects and the subcontractor have all been in contact to make sure we do what needs to be done to put these crooks out of business. The sad thing is is that we are hearing from people who they took advantage over the last 5 years yet no one spoke up. We all feel a social responsibility to the good people of Vacaville CA. We are all filing to get our money back, however the bankrupcy will unfortuantly probably protect these horrible people. There are 12 of us who have jointed a group whom the Rossi's have cheated out of money, either by abandoning construction projects or by taking peoples money to lead them to believe they are decorating and furnishing their projects. Their store has since gone out of business and they no longer have a CA license for contracting and construction. We are all filing with the fraud dept of the DA in Solano country. Total of our group we are out like $240000.
