T & G Roofing and Solar Company

I got the information of this company through Rancho Rain Gutters. They are owned by the same individuals. I didn't really do a lot of price comparison. I love the fact that I can get both of my roof repaired and my gutter installed. They did a good job on the roof. They combined the cost of hte roof repair and the gutter installation, so I got a great deal.

Overall, the job was superbly executed and there is nothing negative to report.

We got a quote from T&G Roofing. They were professional and seemed to know what they were about. We did not go with them because we got a lower bid from someone else.

They worked professionally and took the time to do detailed work with good quality material.

Their service was excellent, and I enjoyed the way that they treated me. I received a lower estimate from another company that I decided to have do the work.

I noticed the tile roof was leaking on front porch and some of tiles were loose and some the wood was dry rotted. Called T&G Roofin from Angie"s list on 1-25-12 and was given an appointment for the next day 1-26-12 @12noon. The representive from T&G arrived on time and was very thorough on the job that needed to be done and the estimate. T&G crew showed up on 1-26-12 @07:30 am (as scheduled) and completed the work to my satisfaction at 4:30pm. I would recommend T&G to Angie's list members.

Great! They had a price that was within $100-$200 of other bidders, but they were by far the easiest bidder to communicate and work with. That's why we chose them. They showed up on time and got the job done in the projected time frame. All the workers were respectful and cleaned up after themselves. The roof looks great, and I'm confident that when the next rain comes, we'll have no problems. They were a great company to work with, and I'd happily use them again or recommend them for any roofing needs.

I discovered a leak in my tile roof in December of 2010, I had a roofer come out and do the repair. I was heavily overcharged and the work was messy. After warmer weather I interviewed several roofing companies and was immediately sold on T&G. Mike took the time to walk me around the house and explain to me what the contractors did wrong, why I am getting leaks, and what he would do to make it right. The estimate was exceptionally reasonable and Gary (foreman) and his crew were incredibly neat. I would walk the yard nightly in search of roofing nails to make sure my kids would not step on them. After 4 days of re-roofing my concrete tile roof, I was unable to find a single nail. I have a ten year warranty with annual well checks. Jennifer or staff always answers the phone during business hours. T&G is hands down the best in the area and they do the work because they enjoy it, not because it's a paycheck. Professional, honest, personable. Identified the probable problem area that could be repaired quickly and cheaply, but he couldn't do just that because it was too small of a job to provide warranty on and they would have to reroof a whole section. Suggested we just repair that area and if that doesn't solve the leak, call him back to do the larger job. Saved us a lot of money because he was willing to consider our needs above making a buck for the company. Really appreciate that kind of integrity. Took 2 days from date I called to available appointment to come to house.

It went very smoothly -- they were a lovely company to work with. They were very responsive and did excellent work.

T&G gave the best estimate from the 3 bids I collected. I wasn't on site at all when the work was done so I cannot attest to their professionalism and cleanliness in person but over the phone everyone was courteous and professional. The office staff was great the 2 times I went in. The roof looks good, it's held up through the many storms we've had in the last couple of months, time will tell how great a job it was but so far I am very pleased with the result.

Needless to say, it was literally a headache. The lack of supervision of the workers, who seemed to me be ones picked up from the Home Depot parking lot or something, was one of the major factors in the crummy work done. No one would come out to check the work results, no follow up inspection, no nothing. The only thing they seemed mainly interested in was getting the insurance checks. Neither Mike or Gary followed up with an in-person inspection of the work. They are very hard to get ahold of, also. Won't return my calls. Even though I thought I was hiring T&G, McGinnis ended up doing most of the work (and collecting most of the money). I feel that is a little underhanded, because McGinnis isn't even on Angies list. As write this, the following items remain to be done: Ceiling in family room completely scraped down, painted, primed, and acoustic popcorn sprayed again. Now is wavy. Acoustic spray splatters cleaned up. Proper underlayment installed under wood floor (floor creaks and groans like a haunted house) Wood floor molding redone-the glue has come loose, and molding is coming loose. the miter joints in the corners and fireplace look uneven, and poorly cut. Separation between old and new flooring-no transisition piece was installed- the gap is widening. No caulking between kitchen sink counter and wall. Need 2 one-way bolts replaced on security window. Roof flashing looks jagged and sharp edge cuts, roof caulking looks sloppy. White paint stains on the patio, sidewalk, driveway, behind the house, windows, cabinets, doorjamb, fireplace, toaster. I wouldn't recommend this company T&G/ Mcginnis Construction/ McGinnis Painting/ TAMCO for any work. I sincerely regret hiring them.

I met the manager and he identified the leak and gave me a very competitive quote. He later repaired the leak. I told him when and if I had to replace the entire roof I would call him. He provided me with a five year warranty. I appreciated him coming out immediately on a Saturday due to the leak. He was very professional, precise and concise. I would definitely use him again.

Our roof leaked into the living room under a section of the house that had been remodeled over 15 years ago. I had another roofing company "repair" the roof about 4 years ago, but the leak came back after a couple years and the leak had pooled in new areas of the ceiling. Mike Cernile from T&G Roofing showed up on time for our appointment, inspected the roof, thoroughly explained his proposal and gave me a good quote which the company improed when I shared that I got lower bids, but mostly to keep their workers busy during the slow, late-summer season. Mike Prescher came out and re-inspected the job/quote. I probably would have used T&G anyway as they took the time to really analyze the problem and gave me confidence in their workplan. The 3-4 man team came early each day for four days. The foreman, Santos, was very responsive and proactive. He went beyond the assigned job, including cleaning both sides of the skylights and repainting (with paint I provided) sections inside the skylight wells which had chipped off a bit. Each day the site was cleaned. After the roof work was done, they checked it by running water over it. When Santos was replacing some fascia board, he discovered a termite-damaged beam which he showed me before removing. After a call to the office and a verbal agreement, we added this to the contract for a very reasonable amount. During each step of the process, I was impressed with T&G Roofing and every employee with whom I had contact.

They always answer call phones promptly. They entire crew was really nice. They did a very good job.

There was a time gap between our acceptance of the estimate and the scheduling of the work which made us a bit nervous because we were going on vacation. However, once the work was scheduled, the workers were prompt, did their job quickly and well and cleaned up afterward. The head of the crew explained what they were doing and indicated if and when anything deviated from the original estimate. It has been only a day since the work was completed, but so far we are very happy with the job they did.

I found T& G Roofing on Angie's List. I was able to get a professional estimate, by that I mean, written so I could read it, with a drawing of the problem area, how much square footage was involved, details of exactly what would be done and how much it would cost. Also included was copies of insurance and licenses and references. I was scheduled within a week of accepting their bid. Due to a rainy forecast, work was started ahead of schedule. My roof was waterproof although not completely finished. Several tiles were broken and needed to be replaced. Although this type of tile was no longer available, they were able to get some that matched! The tile work was completed within 3 days.

This was a big job with a lot of complications. After the old roof had been ripped off we were hit with five days of non-stop rain. The T&G crew had made sure we experienced minimal water damage and they repaired the few spots where there were interior leaks. The company and crew were always professional and responsive. They even came back and custom built new gable trim to replace a few spots that had been damaged during the shake removal.

Mike Cernile came to inspect the roof. He was very courteous and explained the problem that I had, which required the removal of the tiles to remove and replace the tar papers for an area of about 1500 sq. ft. The cost included the resealing of the skylight and vent pipes. When asked, he gave a small discount. He provided an estimate on the spot and a package containing copies of worker's compensation insurance, a BBB report, and references. Since it was a major repair, they provided a 5 year warranty. The workers came as scheduled and worked hard for closed to three days to complete the work. The initial estimate was two days. They did not clean up at the end of each day but cleaned up after they were finished. I asked them to clean the skylight for me, and they were happy to do it for me. The roof looked great, and I thought they did a excellent job.

All employees of this company were excellent!! From the estimator to the demo crew to the installers. They are a local company and they treat you like your one of the family. It was always easy to reach somebody. My house is old and they addressed every issue that arose. I'm very pleased. I have the best looking roof on the block now.

This company was one of the two positive experiences I had with the subs used by an incompetent contractor. The tile was replaced so that three is no visible break between old and new. None of their work needs to be redone. I am suing the contractor. When I called T&G asking for information regarding missing invoices, Tom Shae spent extensive time assisting me in untangling the contractor's actions and billings. I will using this company for all future work.

Overall, it was very good. They had the best of 3 estimates: lowest price, with better materials, plus they took care of the old solar stuff.(One company said we had to take care of that ourselves first.)It also gave us a choice of two brands rated well by Consumer Reports. They were able to start work sooner than estimated, and sent large crews so that it was finished quickly. End result is beautiful, and city inspector said it was a good job. Estimate did not include replacement of termite or water damaged wood. There was a LOT of it (not completely unexpected), so the final price was $1,400 more than estimate.) Even though other estimates included some replacement, the amount we had to replace would have raised those prices very significantly, also. The removal team dropped something through the drywall roof of a bedroom, but they fixed it quickly and well within a week (subcontracted it).

For the first time in years, my roof wasn't leaking. The estimator was courteous and arrived on time for his appt. the men who repaired the damage were also courteous, finished the job in 1 day, 1 day less than estimated, and cleaned up thoroughly.

WE COULDN'T HAVE ASKED FOR A BETTER ROOFING EXPERIENCE. THE PROJECT WAS COMPLETED WITHIN 4 DAYS AND THE WORK AREA WAS LEFT CLEAN. THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS WITH CITY PERMIT APPROVAL AND NO LEAKS!!

OUR EXPERIENCE WITH T&G ROOFING WAS FANTASTIC. BECAUSE IT WAS AFTER THE HEAVY RAINS, THEY TOLD US FROM THE VERY BEGINNING THAT IT MAY TAKE AWHILE. THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL. WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO SOMEONE ELSE.
