The office was very helpful in choosing the correct roof, and color for my house. Brian was quick and efficient in replacing the roof. Hedie extras for no cost that my 90 year old mother recommended great company.

Description of Work: I told Brian I wanted a metal fire roof from day one. He told me guttering could be installed any time, before or after roof was put on. After changing the roof install date three times ( six weeks ) the day he came to install, he looked at roof, said "Where are the new gutters?" He said he could not put on roof without the gutters being installed first. This was the first I had heard this. They got in Truck and left. Never did any work. Now he has sent me a bill for $7,500. for services NOT rendered. This man does not return phone calls, and also told me I did not need gutters. Huh? I live in the Redwoods of Northern California. He didn't want to do the job so he decided to blow me off, and then scam me for additional monies for work he never did.

I refrained from commenting on this fabricated review as to not justify it with a response. However, after learning this client has been bad mouthing us all over town I felt I needed to respond. When I went to Ms. [Member Name Removed]'s house initially to measure her roof and to discuss materials she wanted, she wanted us to remove her existing roof and install a metal system. She also asked me about gutters and I informed her that I do not install gutters. I offered her the name of the gutter company I use and suggested she call them to set up an appointment for an estimate. I explained to her that they would need to be installed prior to the metal roof going on. I would have NEVER told her they could be installed at any time. I sent her a quote for the roofing within the week.She signed my contract and returned it to me. Several weeks later, she contacted me and decided she did not want the old roof removed, she wanted to put the metal roof directly over the existing shingles. This is not normally done and I explained that to her but she insisted. Even though she had already signed the original contract, I amended it to reflect the re-cover she requested. She said she had a "contractor friend" that was helping her through the process and he recommended she do this. She also stated that SHE would buy the skylights I quoted because she could get a better price through her friend. While I don't usually do this, I agreed. Metal roofing is a special order, specified by the measurements of each job, so it sometimes takes a week or two to get it. I had explained to her that her job would take several weeks to get to because I had a very busy calendar, that was no problem for her. I tried to contact Ms. [Member Name Removed] on several occasions to discuss delays and she was always traveling - never had an issue with delays, be it weather or production delays. She appeared happy go lucky about the whole thing. Just as long as it was completed before winter. I showed up to her property with the materials on the start date given to her and noticed there were NO NEW GUTTERS!! When I asked her why she got very emotional and started yelling at ME that I was suppose to take care of that, how I wasn't addressing the needs she requested at estimate...etc. There was no reasoning with her. She was very concerned about her gutters not being able to accommodate the upcoming wet weather so one of my crew and myself got on her roof and cleaned off the debris and cleared her gutters and down spouts. We left the metal panels at her property (in their crates so they were protected) and requested a check for ONLY THE MATERIALS left on the property. She gave that to me and we left. I immediately contacted the gutter company I use to see when they could install gutters and they were out at least 6 weeks. I discussed with them that I would pay the overage of payroll if they would install this project on a Saturday as to expedite getting her roof done before the bad weather arrived. They agreed as long as Ms. [Member Name Removed] accepted their quote. The next day, she called my office, hysterical, and said she didn't want me to do the work, that I was a horrible contractor.....blah, blah, blah.... She then proceeded to tell my gutter installer that I was horrible and they should never work with me again, went into the material supplier to purchase her skylights and told them how terrible I am and attempted to remove my business cards from their display..... I conclude this by saying that she did receive a bill from me, not for the entire amount of the job but for my losses. For the week of work I lost because of her cancellation, payroll for my crew during that time and for the gutter / roof cleaning I performed. This lady is currently a defendant in litigation that I have filed and posted this review simply to retaliate. I pride myself on my integrity and professionalism and people like this are allowed to post whatever they choose to post on this page. She has tarnished my reputation to any potential client that may research me through this page and I can only represent myself through this response. I go out of my way to work with my clients but in this case, she was not someone that I could work with.

Some delays in material and work. The work delays were mainly due to weather. Once started the work was completed quickly. The job site was left very clean and tidy on completion.

Description of Work: A fairly good job was done installing my raised seam sheet metal roof following a delay due to weather and another delay caused by a death in the contractor's family. However, he ordered more roofing than needed for the job, I paid for it, and now it is sitting in my yard. I should not have been charged for materials in excess of what was needed for my roof. I should have been reimbursed for the excess and it should have been removed from my premises.

Hello [Member name removed] First I would like to apologize if you are not completely satisfied with the job we provided. It is always our intention to offer the best possible customer service we can. As we discussed at the time of your project, (Feb. 2015), metal roofing is a custom order and is not returnable. It is standard practice to order a little over the expected amount due to cutting and fitting of pieces, as needed. This way all the material comes from the same batch, making the color lot all the same. If I was to come up short in ordering EXACTLY to the roof measurements, we would most likely have a color variation with a second batch. As I remember, we discussed the leftover materials and, at that time, you had expressed a desire to keep the panels and we stacked them for you where you wanted them and that was that. If they are in your way, I can arrange to have them picked up and we will discard them. There is no charge for that but I cannot offer you a full refund either as I cannot return them. I would be happy to discuss an alternative compensation with you if you are open to that. Had you expressed your dissatisfaction immediately after the job, we would have been happy to remove them when we left the property. Please let me know if you want us to come out to pick up these extra panels and I will arrange to have that done within 2 weeks. Scheduled work and arrived on the date previously scheduled. Start to finished took two days. All items completed as per contract. All personnel courteous and Friendly. worked with extreme professionalism. The only item left when they finished was a new roof.

Description of Work: Providers add in phone book says free estimates in Mendocino County. When I told the woman who answered the phone I lived in Leggett (which is in Mendocino County) she told me they didn't serve Leggett. When I suggested they change their add she hung up on me.

It was explained to this caller, that although Leggett IS within the boundries of Mendocino County, it is 70 miles one way from Ukiah. I politely explained that we just simply don't travel that far. It was my intention to offer her some alternatives, however the caller abruptly shouted that we should change our *#@* ad so I promptly thanked her for calling and ended the call. It is never our intention to offend a potential client and we are always happy to work with people to find a solution. In this case, however, I don't believe that would have been possible.

Solicited multiple quotes, had two of the three provide detailed site surveys, each followed up with a phone call. B.A.S. Roofing provided the most competitive complete solution, addressed all of our options, and provided an aggressive price. Team was punctual, cleaned up after themselves, and finished 1/2 day early. Job was well done, looks incredible, and the house feels more sound, and the roof is pretty!

They came out during a big rain to evaluate the problem. The serviceman returned on a dry day to apply sealant over the affected area. They offered to do the whole porch roof for $600, which may have been a good idea. I was feeling the pinch, however, and we stayed focused on the one area that was leaking at the time. For $100 they sealed the seam between the house roof and the porch roof. Plus, they cleaned the rain gutters. Solid work, and made time for a small job. Thanks, BAS!

BAS Roofing was on time, began work immediately and worked late. They were protective of our cars and other things and made suggestions as to covering them and moving them. They were solicitous as to our ability to come and go while their vehicles were parked in our drive. When the job progressed and revealed more damage than previously thought, they spoke with us and gave us alternatives and let us decide how to proceed. They finished in the time that they had predicted at the beginning and left the job site completely cleaned. Billing was on time and they were understanding when we asked for a delay in paying while we dealt with our insurance company. I would recommend BAS Roofing to anyone.;

The price was a little outrageous, but they did a great job. They did a very thorough job in the issues we were having with the rain gutters getting clogged up; and then the rain coming in the windows are now totally fixed. The only negative for me was just the price, I think it was kind of overpriced, but I would recommend them. It was in a tension and we were worried about the leaking, so we decided to spend the money for that anyway. I would use them again if I can get a better price from them.
Description of Work: I used B.A.S.Roofing for cleaning up my rain gutters. We have kind of a steep roof, and they are licensed roofers so I did not have to worry about them falling off.

Unfortunately, the price for cleaning gutters seems expensice to alot of clients. However, they need to consider that I send experienced roofers, of which I pay steep Workers Compensation rates for, to do the work. Sending fully insured and experienced roofers is what protects the homeowner from someone getting hurt on their property. We also clean off the roof and haul away all debris. I hope this helps ease the pain of the expense put out for such services. We appreciate any customer input because it helps us serve the client better. I wish I could reduce the rate for this service but its just not possible.
