I purchased a 4-man hour Big Deal from Tustin Landscape. Within a couple of days, Jason left a message to make an appointment to scope the job size. When I got a hold of him, he said that he would call me back that night to schedule the appointment. He never called. After several days, I called him and asked him why he did not call. His excuse was that he was really busy with the Big Deals (too busy to give me quick call?). I got the feeling that this wasn't going to end well, but decided to give him some slack. Finally, we scheduled an appointment to see the property. Jason showed up, saw the property and work to be donne, but could only give me a tentative work date (which was 10 days later, which was OK). Again, he said that he would call me *that* night to confirm the date and time. Of course, he never called as promised (or later).. I called him nine days later to verify that he was going to do the work (which as scheduled for the next day). He said yes and gave me a time frame. No surprise, he neither showed nor called--and still hasn't. I cancelled my Big Deal with Tustin Landscape, and can sum up my experience with them in one word: Unprofessional.

My review of Tustin Landscape is if you can't be there to supervise the work - DON'T HAVE IT DONE. I purchased the deal and within 2 days I received a phone call to set up a date and time. My schedule is extremely hectic so I spoke I asked if I could send pictures of the areas I wanted cleaned up so I would not have to be there. Tustin Landscape said that was ok. I send photos of all the areas I wanted worked on which totaled 5 areas. I had 2 phone conversations about the job. After phone calls and pictures - all they did was pick up the pine needles. The other 4 areas I asked to be cleaned up were left UNTOUCHED. I have before and after photos to prove it. I don't understand it because I had phone conversations and sent pictures. How can you mess that up. Sorry Angie's List - so far I'm NOT impressed. I wanted to have my yard picked up for Thanksgiving and it turns out it was still a weedy mess - except of course for the pine needles. I also purchased a PAINT DEAL and I'm extremely nervous about that.

I booked this company through your promotion , after several days they called me and said they were busy at that time but they would call soon and make an appointment to do some work . They never called back and the work was never done . bill hontos ovstampco@aol.com

I had just missed out on an Angie's List deal for landscaping with this poor excuse of a company, and in hindsight I'm very happy no money ever exchanged hands. I initially had to leave a message, and was called back a couple of hours later. We scheduled an appointment, and things were on there way to smooth sailing. A couple days later I got a call saying they could come over earlier in the day. Well it turns they confused the actual DAY. No big deal, people make mistakes. I was looking forward to seeing them the following day. I got a voice mail the next day saying they ran late and would have to reschedule. Now I'm starting to get upset at this flakiness, but sent two unanswered emails to two separate emails. It's been a week with no response. The whole reason I signed up with Angie's List was to avoid this stupidity from unprofessional contractors, choosing qualified businesses that actually wanted to work. I'm extremely disappointed that I am paying for a service that can falsely depict this kind of company as "A" rated. **Reply to Tustin Landscape's Response: There was no argument regarding the missed "deal", but apparently the mere mention of it made you feign like you wanted my business when in fact you probably thought I was cheap. Your loss, I just cut a $17K check to your successor.

Everything we agreed to on the original contract was performed to our expectations.

They accomplished a lot in an hour's time and hauled away the trimmings. Overall I'm very satisfied.

I was initially impressed by knowledge exhibited by Tustin Landscape's owner in his first visit to assess scope of work. He knew exactly what would make my front yard lawn look better and had all the tools and expertise to tackle even the most challenging work with cutting old branches from neighbor's tree that precariously hung over our back yard fence. This comfort level prompted me to pay more than $300 more than what I bought in Angie's List promotional value. They did a great job with palm trees only a day after initial visit and took care of the branches from neighbor's tree in the same, expeditious manner. I don't think they did as good of a job with the front lawn. I haven't seen any improvement in some yellow patches and missing turf in two weeks after they were supposed to fertilize and place some more seeds in this area. I took care of that myself by getting the seeds and fertilizers from the home improvement store and I saw improvement in the overall condition of my front yard right away. I will use Tustin Landscape again in Spring, but only if we can negotiate similar pricing as in recent promotional value advertised on Angie's List.

Jason responded promptly to our call and fit us in to do the work. (See above) He worked according to our needs and desires and completed the whole job within the time allotment. He worked along with his helpers and also supervised them the whole time. We are most pleased with his professionalism.

I was very impressed when I received a call from Jason right after I had purchased a coupon from Angie's list for $99.00 for 4 hours of debris clean up. He really had great communication with me the whole time. He called to setup a time where he could come over and talk with me about what I wanted done and to see what tools were necessary for the job. He was right on time. I had asked him to cut a ficus hedge that ran down the side of my house but he said he wasn't set up for that. I thought that was odd for a landscape company but nevertheless I had plenty of other tasks to fill the 4 hours so I moved on. He let me know that it would be 4 guys plus him for 1 hour instead of 1 guy for 4 hours. I agreed to that. Then I had some additional pricing questions about doing my whole front yard and back yard and he spent some time giving me an estimate and some ideas of what work he could do. Then he left. The day he came out to perform the work he was running late but called to tell me that and asked if it was ok to come later. I agreed and had no problem at all and loved that again he had such great communication. He was supposed to be at my house at 3:30 but end up being there at 4:30. He showed up with 2 guys and said it would be those 2 guys and him and to make up for the 4th guy he would go for an extra 20 minutes. He definitely got done the main things that I wanted him to but I did want some flower beds weeded too and I thought for sure they would at least have time to get some of that done too. So that was really my only complaint, originally he was going to have 4 guys plus him so I feel like they could have gotten more done.

After only being able to get one quote on our own (could never get call backs), we decided to join Angie's List. We wanted to use someone local so we called Jason at Tustin Landscape. About 45 minutes after the call, Jason was at our house to gather info for his quote. The next day a detailed quote was emailed to us. We decided to go with Jason and we are sure glad that we did. Jason is a man who keeps his word and has a very high level of integrity. His crew installed new sprinklers, new sod, new plants, and also planted a tree. Everything was done in the order and time frame that was laid out in the quote. After the work was done, for the next few weeks, Jason came by everyday to make sure the sprinklers were getting the coverage needed for the lawn and the flowerbeds. If the day was hot, he would run the sprinklers by hand just to make sure the lawn had enough water. I would highly recommend Jason and his crew because they did the job as quoted, and then some, and the results are beautiful. People driving down our street slow down and admire the great job that they did. I highly recommend Jason and his crew!

I called Jason on Friday 10-19-12 at the number provided in the Angie's list 'Big Deal' for $199 for 8 man hours of landscaping and the ad clearly stated the following: Tustin Landscape, an "A" rated and "Page of Happiness" nominated landscaping contractor on Angie?s List, is offering 8 man hours of landscaping service for ONLY $199! This service would regularly be valued at $350, saving Angie's List members 43%! Landscaping Maintenance Includes: Fall Clean-Up Weeding Pruning Mulching Planting Drainage Apply Coupon Value Towards Complete Landscape Installations such as: Plant Design Paver Patios Retaining Walls Sprinkler System Lighting Water Feature Sod Jason first told me that the $99 ad was not good for sod. I told him I was looking at the $199 coupon. He said again that it wasn't for sod as he was walking to his truck. He pulled the ad and read the top portion. I told him again that the bottom portion said sod. He said, "Oh, you're absolutely right. Well, we usually come out and give an estimate on a job like that." He then told me that his 1st available appt was Sunday 10-21-12. I thought it was odd that the coupon said during normal business hours and he was going to come out on a Sunday. He said he has kids and works all types of hours. He offered an 08:30 appt time or some afternoon times. I chose 08:30, gave him my address and phone number. I never heard my phone ring and no one came to my home at 08:30 Sunday morning. Later Sunday evening, I checked my voicemail and Jason had called but there was no record of it in my call log. He told me that someone had driven by my home yesterday and that my yard is 'too small' for him but in the future if I have any other work to be done let him know?. I am very disappointed. I do live in a mobile home and yes, my side yard is small for sod-only about 200 sq. ft. because of the patio we have built and the furniture that is there. However, it also needs sprinklers the 26' flower bed in front of my house is empty and needs to be planted (we just removed all the old plants) and the 400 sq. ft. + in the back yard also needs to be pulled out and redone. Because someone did not come at the scheduled appt time, I didn't get a chance to discuss any of that with them. It's hard for me to believe that all of that landscaping is 'too small.' Also, in the Angie's List ad, there was no minimum $$ or yard size mentioned. I thought it was a coupon for 'man hours' and I could use it for many different uses as long as I purchased at least 4 or 8 hours. When I first called, Jason was easy to get a hold of and had a pleasant enough phone demeanor. He told me that the Angie's List ad had gotten him about 30 jobs and I commented that it was doing well and that was good to hear. It was unfortunate for me though since I still have dead grass and an empty flower bed.

We wanted to upgrade our yard, remove old lawn and repair or replace very old under ground sprinkler system. We struggled with the commitment of money, and desire to select the right landscaper. We interviewed many people who quoted a variety of options - some were over our budget with suggestions for lawn plus gardens, pavers and/or lighting. We chose Tustin Landscape because the owner Jason was very informative and listened to what we wanted. He offered a solid plan we were comfortable with. After checking references and comparing quotes, we hired Tustin Landscape. Jason's office was very efficient, emailing our quote and answering all questions. The crew showed up ON TIME as scheduled. The job took 3 days. At the end of each day our property was neat with all debris removed. The crew worked HARD to remove some large rocks and concrete (base for an old patio cover). Day #1 was removal of old lawn, and digging up all rocks, etc. Day #2 the new sprinkler pipes and heads were installed. Day #3 the sod was laid and Jason ensured we had 100% coverage from the sprinklers. He returned a couple of days later to make adjustments and ensure the sod was taking root. We followed Jason's instructions to a "T" and now 6 weeks later our lawn is gorgeous. The job was completed as we expected with higher than expected customer service. We are very pleased with the professionalism and and attention to details. Tustin Landscape is a fine business.

I am a realtor and I use them on a regular basis. I will use them whenever the need arises. The owners name is Jason. They do exterior landscaping.
