The Maids of Orange County

First visit cost $450. They charge by the hour on the initial visit. The initial cleaning was excellent. Moving forward our home is $205 for 2 hours with four person crew. Our home has 3 bedrooms, 2 of which are rarely used. A large living room that is almost never used. They are basically cleaning a master bedroom, family room, 2 baths and a kitchen which we do use alot. The second visit was not nearly as good. They only swept the hardwood floors, left many counter tops untouched and the kitchen appliances were not cleaned just wiped with a very oily ss cleaner that left everything very oily. We called and complained and they gave us a $20 credit. 10% really. We gave them another chance the following month and it was better but not $205 worth. 2 more unimpressive visit and yesterday was their last visit. Unfortunately the crews are not supervised or manager. No supervisor has visited to follow on which I would think is a problem account for them. They are under very strict time demands and do not have enough time to complete the work. You would think 8 women hours at $25 plus an hour we would be sufficient for such a small job but it is not. Their work is only as good as their unsupervised team leader and her assistances which is obvious by the very inconsistent Yelp reviews. Maybe it is just me but I expect high quality work for the prices they are charging. We will not be using them in the future it is just too expensive for the frustration and all of the follow up we have to do.

always punctual, extremely responsive, perfectly careful. The results have been fine. They cleaned everything very well. But the price! I can't continue to pay $250 for cleaning of my tiny apartment. Update (Jan 21, 2014) -- In a response here on Angie's List, The Maids had the audacity to tell the world that their very high prices are justified because I don't clean my apartment enough. So you definitely want to go with The Maids if you like a provider who tells everyone in Orange County that you don't clean your own place, you dirty person. Of course I do clean my own place regularly. That was a despicable claim, The Maids.

The first cleaning session took longer and cost more (can't recall exactly but must have been about $300), which was as expected. Each visit now runs about an hour and a half to clean approx. 2,000 sq. ft. house They have always done a very thorough job. Nothing has ever been broken or misplaced. The team leader Alma is always cordial and professional and I have gotten to know and recognize all the team members. I have had the team clean my house on a regular basis for the past two years and am very pleased with the service.

The women are very friendly. Only the team leader seems to speak some English, so communicating was a little difficult. But they tried to be very helpful. They did a reasonable job of cleaning the place. I believe they spent a little over 2 hours. The first clean is always the hardest. After they left I got a follow up call for feedback. I mentioned a couple things that they missed, and the manager offered to send them back to fix it. I opted for a small savings on my next cleaning. Since then I've had back once a month for $200. They give me a reminder call a few days ahead. They seem to be getting to know my place better, and I've never had to remind them to clean something twice. They always remember that the next time. It seems, though, that the cleaning is getting less thorough. Maybe it has to do with the time constraints on the monthly cleanings. Still, sometimes I feel like the rugs haven't been thoroughly vacuumed, or the floor under the cabinets in the kitchen hasn't quite been reached, even though they assure me that they have cleaned those areas. Also, they'll clean whatever dishes are left in the sink, but that doesn't mean they're cleaned well, and I usually end up rewashing them anyway. I mean, these are tiny little things in the big scope. My bathrooms are always spotless--and that's the biggest reason I have them over. We have 3 bathrooms, so that's a lot of work. The 22-Step Checklist is a great idea. But I only saw it the first couple times. And it doesn't seem like they actually check it as they go. Seems like more of a formality/paperwork than something they really use. Generally, I'm happy with them. I'm still using them! They're a great help and not too expensive. Maybe if I was more assertive things would be more clean. I suspect that if you're a detail oriented person that they would clean until you were satisfied. So, perhaps this is more a reflection on my personality than their quality of work.

I started by filling out the online estimate request. Jerry called back within a couple hours to get more specifics and provide estimates for both a one-time initial deep clean, as well as estimates for weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly service. He was friendly and very non-pressure-y. I scheduled the deep clean at that time, obviously wanting to see how they did before agreeing to anything further. A team of 4 cleaners showed up at the early end of the arrival time window I was given. Even as I was going over details with the team leader, the other ladies started right in on their various tasks I have never hired housecleaners before, and one of my concerns had been the overuse of strong chemicals that might be harmful to my pets (5 birds and 2 bunnies), or my husband and I. That was not a problem at all with The Maids. They left my house smelling genuinely fresh and clean, not disguised-by-over-powering-cleaning-chemicals 'clean." it had been an obscenely long time since my house had a good scrubbing, and with the aforementioned seven dander-spewers, both my husband and I had been sniffling and sneezing quite a lot (hence, why I started investigating housecleaners). As soon as the team left (within the estimated 90 minutes that the cleaning was supposed to take), I could already tell the difference - no more runny nose for me! My husband noticed the difference as well ("the bathroom smells really nice"), and we plan to hire The Maids for regular cleanings.

I go them through Angie’s list. So far I am happy with them. Their pricing is average. I am going to continue to use them.

No complaints with 1st service. Reg cleaning lady out of the country for almost 2 mos so needed someone else to step in. Did a good job overall the 1st time that was 3 wks ago to the day. I have an 1800 sq ft house, all single story, so a breeze to clean. I keep the house tidy as well so no huge mess for anyone to have to clean up either. I have 2 parrots and made it clear no one was to touch them or their cages which was respected. My one parrot was terrified by the 1 woman who walked around wearing a vacuum backpack. When she dusted the clock beside his cage with the vaccuum backpack thing on he was petrified and that was with me being close to his cage in the same room. Not sure how effective vacuuming like that actually is- the unit sounded like it was not fully powered. The 2nd visit, today, was not as well done, happening 3 wks from the initial clean.. Made it clear no one should show up prior to 10AM. Jerry sent me an Email informing me there would be no one here prior to 11AM. The 4 women arrived at 9:50AM anyway. All chattered away, one woman very shrill, in Spanish so no idea what so was important to convey it had to be practically shouted. Repeatedly heard someone's cell phone go off as well. Heard some clattering too so something was dropped , several times, but haven't found anything to indicate whatever it was belonged to me. I had a basic expectation: clean the kitchen ,the 2 bathrooms, 3 small bedroom areas + LR/DR. I expected the dusting to be done (it was) and esp the white ceramic floor tile to be washed (it was NOT). Told the leader I esp wanted the 2 sliding doors and the window rails/ledges cleaned with a rag or a vacuum attachment as the whole house had been power washed the prior week just before the entire house exterior was painted so all the dust was blown in via the window screens. Despite directing this be done, it wasn't. I didn't pay until this was done and I had to go around to almost every room to direct same be done. I didn't realize none of the floors had been washed or that none of the 5 small throw rugs had not been shaken out until after all were gone. Most disappointing. Everyone in and out in 1 hr to the tune of $156. I don't consider that to be a great value, esp when somehting as basic as washing the floors were not even done. I choose to not use this company again nor do I plan to contact them to have them return to do what wasn't done today . After the initial blast through good clean, the subsequent visit just didn't measure up. I also read in A's List such an observation overall isn't all that uncommon, unfortunately. I had wanted to find a company to come in every quarter to clean what my regular person doesn't have the equipment to reach/do but it won't involve this company. Per Jerry Dino, If you don't have a cleaning within a 2 wk time period there's no break on the price. He did allow one for me this one time but I don't think it was necessary to have 4 people zoom through my small home to clean it in 1 hour either so why pay for so many when the job was left incomplete? I don't see that as good value. Jerry, please don't bother responding to this Email. This is my opinion and I stand by it as a paying consumer who will not be one of your clients.

I use to use them in the past and they were great but cut back due to two kids in college. I won a gift certificate for 2 hours of service. They came out to my house. As they were finishing, the head cleaner had me check the bathrooms because she was concerned that they were not done right. After we both checked them, we both agreed that they didn't use water and it wasn't clean. She offered to stay and correct the problems but it was late in the night so we decided not to go for it at that time and instead to call the office on Monday (this was a Friday). She was going to let the office know when she returned after leaving our house. I had dealt with issues in the past, but they were always resolved by the office efficiently. Called the company and was told that since it was a free service, they had to check with the supervisor and get back to me. But they never got back to me. After leaving several messages, I received an email from the manager and the manager, Jerry, wrote me saying that since it was free service, I would have to pay for the additional time. After many emails and time spent dealing with this company following the cleaning, they did finally offer to give me 2 hours of free service to correct the problems. But I decided not to take them up on the offer because of the past experience and I felt at that point that it would be inappropriate to accept the offer if I no longer plan to use them in the future. I would give an A for the bedrooms and F for the bathrooms. The cleaning crew was very professional and felt bad about the problems. The office is the one that handled the situation poorly, not the cleaning crew. Comments regarding a customer's integrity are unprofessional. I did not put my comments on this site for any reason other than to inform the next possible customer of concerns I had.

A team of 4 women arrived promptly and were very curtious and professional. I told them what I wanted them to do and they started to clean. I told them I really only wanted 1 hour of work and for them to focus on the bathroom and the kitchen, specifically the floor. An hour later they still hadn't touched the floor so they asked for an extra 1/2 hour. While they were an A team throughout the process I have to wonder if they didn't get to the floor on purpose so they could get an extra 1/2 hour of work. This was specifically mentioned in my instructions. The only other issue I ahve is taht I only had two rooms cleaned which took a team of 4 women 1 1/2 hours (6 hours total) for $235. I think this very pricy. While I liked the service, I can't afford to ahve them come again.

Great, I highly recommend this company.

This was the first time I have used professional housecleaners in this house. I called, described the services I desired and was given an estimate of $159 for 4 team members, including one lead, to clean all three bathrooms in 1 hour. I was also given prices if they ended up finishing in 45 minutes or 30 minutes. Arrival time was given as between 9 to 10 AM on a Saturday morning I was called the day before to confirm. The lead called earlier in the morning saying they would be there by 10 AM The team actually arrived about 10:15. The street name had been misspelled in their work order and they were driving around the neighborhood trying to find the correct street. The lead had tried to call me but was calling my work number rather than my cell or home number that were also listed on the work order (I was home). They only had 3 team members because one was sick. I was told the job may take longer but would still be same prices as quoted (e.g. 3 girls for 1 hour 20 minutes same as 4 girls for 60 minutes). They went right to work and finished in 1 hour 25 minutes. The lead asked if I wanted to inspect their work, which I did, I was satisfied with everything. Price was $166 but I paid cash and got a 10% discount to $150. I receive two separate phone messages a couple days later as follow up to make sure I was happy with the service. Only thing I noticed since then was what appeared to be minor scratches on porcelain around the drain in one sink. This drain had had heavy deposits which were removed but perhaps a bit too aggressively. Overall very happy with the results.

This is not a good company to employ. The costs were way too high and the job was done poorly.

the reviews I read on Angies List before hiring this company must have been written by employees posing as members; this company is insanely, grossly, stupidly expensive; the cleaning crew they sent was more like a wrecking crew; they trashed my base-boards; they left a thick black scratch all along the length of my 15ft entry way base-boards and the same scratch all the way down the 8ft secondary hallway base-boards; in addition, although I explained ad nauseam that I was nervous about them scratching my stainless steel kitchen sink, and that I only use soft sponges and soft cleaners (they had no soft sponges so I supplied them with 3); I found one of the staff placing her cleaning bucket directly in my sink which left large bucket-shaped scratches in the stainless steel; aside from the horrendous damage, after they left I found cobwebs in my master bath and bedroom; and they completely skipped dusting my master bedroom ceiling fan and t.v. stand; and my living room ceiling fan; and whatever they used to dust my black Pottery Barn coffee table and desk, left both pieces dull and without a hint of shine; my home is very small, and sparse and clutter free; I live alone with the exception of my adult son who lives with me 1/2 the week; 1 of my bedrooms is entirely empty; and the house is very neat and only needed dusting and vacuuming and some minor detail cleaning in the bathrooms; I was quoted 1 to 2 1/2 hours for the job; yet their 4 person crew, (no doubt because they were charging by the hour), managed to stretch this very small job into 3 1/2 hours!!! if you value your property and your money, stay away from this company!

I scheduled the cleaning with Jerry over the phone; I got a full description of what to expect. The crew arrived on time, and finished in two and a half hours. They began cleaning the minute they came through the door, while Maria,, the crew leader, went through the house with me to get specific directions. They were all uniformed, wore shoe covers in the house, and very professional. They used every minute in my home to clean. I toured the house with Maria at the end, to make sure everything was satisfactory, and I was delighted to find that my house was cleaner than it had been since we moved in 8 years ago. These people perform exactly as advertised and are worth every penny of the cost. I have scheduled The Maids for regular cleaning, and I'll never look back!

I called The Maids after seeing the reviews on Angie's List. I am currently recovering from surgery and my regular maid is on vacation so I really needed someone to do my floors on a one-ime basis. I called them yesterday and asked if they would do a partial cleaning, and they said yes. They came within 24 hours, on-time, and did exactly what I asked. The price ($156 per hour, before the $65 coupon) seemed steep but now I understand why. They showed up with a team of 4 cleaners; one of them was the team lead. Before I had even finished talking to the team lead, the other cleaners were already working on my floors. They brought all of their own equipment and cleansers and literally got down on their hands and knees and scrubbed my tile floors with a grout brush. They wore covers on their feet, and completely dried the floors when they were done. They were extremely efficient and ompleted the job within an hour, as expected. I will definitely use them again when I am in a pinch. I could also see using them to clean the house either before or after a party, a move, etc.

They attended to every detail and were most professional. The team leader inspected the others' work with a "white glove". I will not return to any service I have used in the past. I am a their client from this point on. I did use an Angie's list coupon so the price would have been $420.

The crew arrive right on time in the early par of the time window given. The crew of 3 were professional, they used booties in the house. They brought all their own equipment (except vacuum - I wanted them to use mine). They had estimated 1-2 hours when I made the appointment. When the crew arrived, the lead told me it would be 3 hours because of the dusting (I have a lot of nick-nacks) and I agreed. They started right away and did not take a break. I was so pleased with the work. I didn't recognize some of the items in my cabinets and coffee table they were so clean. Everything sparkles.

Husband said they showed up on time, looking and acting very professional. It was a bit on the pricey side, but that's because they have a larger staff. It was well worth the extra money.

On the phone The Maids quoted it would take about 1.5 hours however after inspecting the home they requoted for about double due to the soil level. They spent about 3 hours on the home and it looked just like when I moved in! Although a bit expensive for me it was well worth it.

It was a good experience. The team leader was a very nice lady and I am satisfied with the work they did.

They were late for the appointement and didn't call to let me know. I had to call them to find out a new ETA. Once they arrived, they did an excellent job. Everything was sparkling clean after they left, even rust on the shower door that I thought was permanent. I just wished I had used them when I was living there. Everything would have been so much nicer!

They clean my house on a regular basis.

In these tough times, we can't afford full time maid service, so we clean our house as best we can, but through out the year (maybe once every 3 to 4 months I call them and have them come in to do a deep clean) just to keep the wifie happy! I found "The Maids Home Services" here on Angie's List. Using their national web site was very easy to use to make an appointment. Unless thier prices go up, I will use them again.
