I had purchased a big deal for the service, and it wasn't as expected, they didn't tell me anything. They didn't tell me what was causing the issue.
Description of Work: I used HealthyHomes4U Inc. They hooked a bunch of stuff to my registers, like some equipment, and then ran a test.

We are still under home warranty, so we hesitated to purchase the part they suggested. We will definitely consider the warranty program they suggest for A/C unit. They power washed my coils and replaced the air filter. Very pleasant crew.
Description of Work: They evaluated a noise coming from A/C

Description of Work: Not a good experience, and based on this experience and one other I'll think twice before buying a big deal again. It was a little challenging to schedule with the service provider. Service provider was supposed to perform an attic energy evaluation. They came out with a thermal scan camera and we're probably in the attic for ten minutes. Then verbally talked about a couple of insulation solutions. They were supposed to send a report documenting work and findings and solutions, but after I called twice to try and get the report all I got was a bid.

Response from HealthyHomes4U Inc
I am sorry you had a bad experience. We sent over an inspector with over 20 years experience with a $14,000 thermal camera. It only takes a few minutes to see the majority of the problems in the attic using the camera. He told me he discussed your problems with you. When you called that you only received a proposal and not a report we sent the report to you the same day. We refunded your entire fee, sorry for your inconvenience.

She got lost in our file system. We received her phone call on Monday about not getting a bid and responded with a bid at 4:02 on Monday and then a follow up phone call. We are sorry for the delay. The response to the Angie's list ad was much larger than we anticipated and we are working our way through the logistics.

After receiving a "Big Deal" offer in my email for window replacements I contacted Healthy Homes 4U to find out how many vouchers I should purchase to replace 2 windows in our house. He told me I only needed one $250 voucher, then gave me a long pitch about how adding insulation inside of my walls would save me energy and qualify me for a rebate. I told him I was only interested in window replacement at this time. He said he would send a sales rep out for "an energy assessment" so took my information down... but after a week of waiting for a call, I never heard from him nor his rep to set up an appointment.
Description of Work: No work was done. I called and inquired about window replacement per "Big Deal" ad. No one from company called back nor came out to the house to take measurements and provide an estimate.

He is correct, I rushed into the office this morning to see why he was not called and could not find a record of his call or purchase of a coupon. I am sorry but his information never as entered into our database for scheduling an appointment. A phone call or email asking when we would be there would have solved the problem. We are happy to help him and give him a great deal if he calls back. As far as homeowners qualifying for rebates of up to $4500 we usually mention it as we like our customers to be aware of the possibilities available to them to save money. We will try to do better in the future.

It was a long day they had to cover everything with plastic so that took a while but once the work started it went fast. They did most of the work from the inside walls any where they could not reach like the bathrooms with title on the walls they did the work from the outside. Everything went great. Well worth it. My electric bill has already gone down.
Description of Work: Intalled installation in all my walls.

The HERS audit consisted of a home inspection that mapped the exterior, listed all appliances, HVAC, Water heater, etc. They also performed and Door Pressure Test and Duct Leakage Tests. All these figures were placed in a computer model and the output was provided to me in 2 reports, an existing state and the impact of recommended changed on a future state. The testing procedures were interesting but the reports are the what you are really paying for. I my case my newer home was relatively efficient and the recommend changes addressed my comfort level concerns, but were all relatively expensive. Per the model, a majority of my electrical expenses are associated with my appliances, so energy savings were comparatively minimal. Recommendations and Costs 1) Convert to "conditioned" attic space, requiring the installation of closed cell foam in the rafters of the attic and the removal of all existing batt insulation (~$7,00) 2) Install an ERV whole house ventilation system to provide continuous fresh air 3) Replace 5 existing double pane windows with 5 new triple pane windows (~$2,500) 4) Install open cell foam insulation in my south facing walls (~$3,500) when you include repair and paint walls These recommendations will dramatically improve the comfort in the upstairs, but ultimately energy saving paybacks are many years. I plan to implement recommendations #1 and #2. I also plan to install Solar to stabilize my electrical bills. Jim, the owner of Healthyhomes4u was great. He answered all of my questions and helped me to prioritize my home efficiency improvement projects.

Our house was built in 1956 and very drafty! We had high utility bills and it was always cold in my home. We hired them to replace the windows , insulate the attic and walls. They put in a tank less water heater and sealed the air ducts. They put weather stripping around all the doors. I was worried about the mess that the work would create. I have 4 children and we all know how that go's. They were so clean and professional, I could not believe it .They did a top notch job. My house feels so nice and warm now. It feels like a home!! We all love the endless hot showers too!!! Having that many children we always ran out of hot water. Jim Nugent ( the owner) even helped us get a rebate from our utility company's a total of $8,000.. My utility bills are so much lower( about 40%). They went out of their way to make us happy!.I highly recommend them.

Went great they handled everything
Description of Work: This is the second house HealthyHomes4U, Inc has done for us. First they did our home which had energy bills of over $600 a month and now they are about $130 a month. They injected the walls with foam insulation and put r-49 insulation in the attic, replaced the furnance and ac unit. Sealed the attic walls and windows and replaced our waterheater with a tankless waterheater Plus they got us over $12,000 in rebates from the utility companies. I told our tenants about it and they wanted to have their house done too. They also had a room that was always too hot or cold. They insulated the walls with foam and ceiling with cellulose, replaced all the asbestos ducts provided an abatement certification. Replaced the hot water heater and replaced the ducts. They are very happy too. Now both of us have more comfortable and affordable homes. We also no longer fear the utility bills. Yes we would recommend HealthyHomes4U inc to everyone.

Jim came out to give me an estimate on making my home more energy efficient. He looked around and made suggestions on how to lower our utility bills. I decided that a full upgrade was outside of my budget at the moment, but when I do decide to upgrade my home I will use HealthHomes4U because they are professional, on-time, trust-worthy and very informative. I was thankful for the time Jim spent with me going over cost vs benefits of individual items as well as cost and savings of the overall upgrade. I also really liked that they have non-caustic wall insulation foam that won't put toxic chemicals into the house and do more harm than good. And the Aeroseal product that allows for duct insulation/sealing from the inside of the system, instead of tearing through my walls and attic looking for leaks. The less tearing apart of the house the sooner life can get back to normal after renovations. I also appreciated that even though they are window distributors they did not try to push the windows, they explained that there is a huge mark up in window units and that the companies make big money on the sales and that it's actually not that helpful to the overall energy saving of the house. That if you are on a budget trying to get the most bang for your buck, you should go for insulating the walls, attics and ducts as that is where the most energy can be kept from leaving the house and save the most money. They took a look at my water heater and AC unit and told me both systems are larger than what I actually need for the square footage of my home and that I could save money on monthly utilities with smaller units, but it would not be worth the replacement cost as they are still in good condition (So in the future, when they eventually break, I won't be sold more than what I need for the size of my home because someone is trying to make a bigger sale- Knowledge is power). Like I said, I decided that now is not the best time financial for me to invest in home improvement, Jim was really nice about it and did not charge me for the consultation. When I do have the budget for upgrades I will use this company, but until then I recommend them to those looking for immediate improvements. I always appreciate a straight shooting contractor and as they are a rare find- I thought I would share my learning experience with the community. I hope your experience is as positive as mine.
