American Vision Windows

I am so very satisfied. They were very professional and they gave us a good bid. They did the job, they came out when they said they would and they had everything complete in one day. They only had two guys doing it and everything was done with perfection. They were very careful with covering up my furniture and everything. One window had a scratch on it that we discovered after they had already been installed but they took care of it.

The windows are great! I am however, having a little trouble with the glass doors. They are doing all they can to correct it, but I'm just not very happy with the doors. The price was good, but I will not use them again because of the doors.

The sales rep was an hour late and when he finally showed up he complained about never coming out this way again. He measured all the windows and told me what a good deal he was going to give me and that he wasn't going to make any money on it; how stupid does he think people are. His estimate was over 6K more than a previous estimate I had received. He had a bad attitude especially when I told him I wanted a ballpark figure. He then said he could have given me that over the phone. Since I was not going to purchase anything at that moment, he began to throw his material in his bag. Since I had an appointment I did not have time to haggle with him and did not like his condescending attitude. When I made the appointment I mentioned that I wanted an estimate. I had no intention of buying especially at their price. I would not use the company or recommend them to anyone. One of their employees left me a voicemail, I returned her call, and have not heard back from them.

Every person we were in contact with, from our initial visit to the show room to the service technician who came to fix a few minor issues, was professional, courteous, and very helpful. Time from sales visit to installation was about 1 month (sooner than we expected). While we may have paid more than we could have if we'd shopped around more, we are quite satisfied with the experience (after having had many nightmarish experiences with home projects and contractors in the past, this was a breeze!). The quality of the work and of the windows is very good. One minor issue: the installers could have done a better clean-up job, but then who doesn't hate to "do windows"? The change in the temperature in our house was noticeable - now I can stand in front of a widow with full sun and barely feel the heat. The noise reduction is also incredible. I used to be woken up nightly by passing freight trains - now I don't hear them unless I forget to close a window.

They provided me with excellent service in all areas of their business. I also think they are reliable and very courteous.

I'm glad I had them do the work and did not let my initial negative experience in the showroom determine my decision. Bill, Easy and Christian did an amazing job with the installation. They ran into some unexpected difficulties with my door frame and stayed and kept working until they had solved the problems and made it perfect. These installers are outstanding professionals. The Anlin doors and windows are beautiful and worth the extra money for this premium product line. The "used car high-pressure" approach of the sales department was the only downside. I prefer to get the information and the price without feeling like I had to "make my decision today."

I have tried to set up appointments several times and they never returned my calls. When I finally got through to them they set up the appointment and then did not show up. I had some more work for them to do but now they will not get my business. I even gave them a good report, previously.

I was having every window in my house replaced (15 total). The old windows let the heat out in winter and the heat in in the summer. House was also subject to dust, drafts and noise due to old '50's era windows. After ordering new windows from American Vision Windows, I had a wait of about a month, as they were being made to order. The team that arrived to install them was polite, neat and very efficient. In less than 8 hours all the old ones were out, the new ones in. The crew kept things clean all along the way, and hauled away all the old windows. They made sure I understood care, cleaning and operation of the new windows, and left. The look, operation and efficiency of the new window are a 100% improvement over the old, and give my house a crisp, up to date look, as well as adding to the value. My experience with American Vision Windows was excellent, start to finish.

The representative was professional and thorough and offered a good price. He measured twice, and another person measured prior to installation. The work was not quite finished that same day, but the installers returned the next day and quickly finished up. The windows are beautiful and have been problem-free.

Called for estimate. Rep. arrived and gave me a high estimate, but assured me he'd have installers that had experience doing WOOD SASH retrofitting. Installation took 1 full day. Windows look good. These unpainted wood sashed were $1,000 EACH. After a month, they were ALL sticking. Different techs came out and said the side rails were bowing-a manufacturer (JT Windows) problem. AVW would contact mfgr. After a week, no word from anybody! I called for status. AVW said they called window manufacturer - but didn't tell me that. They told me I could contact the mfg. NO,they need to. Got called back by AVW who said JT Window got my info last week and would call me NEXT week (that's 2 weeks now) to address the problem.

We were so pleased with our experience from start to finish. I found A.V.W. online, before I joined Angie's list. They prided themselves on their customer service. I'm happy to say that they have every right to be proud. We made an appointment with the salesman the next day. He gave us a quote that was honestly higher than we had planned to spend. (isn't everything?) But, the salesman made some deals for us and we found a price that we were comfortable with. They were great with the follow-ups from the status of our order to the appointment for installation. The team of 3 workers arrived on time on the scheduled day. They were very polite and professional. They worked quickly and kept the areas they were working on very clean. They answered all questions I had and were very detailed in their work. They showed me how all the windows worked and made sure we were satisfied with the job before they left. I'm happy to say, our windows look AMAZING.

Very pain free experience. Company was on time, communicative, and did a fast and excellent job tearing out the old wood double hung windows and replacing them with new single hung vinyl windows.

Paul, the salesman, was able to answer all my questions about the windows. The bid was competitive with other companies I looked at. My only dissatisfaction is I asked for only 1 lock on a window, and it came with 2 when the installation was done. I talked with their customer service and they said it was because the window was too tall for one lock. It's okay, but I wish they'd mentioned this earlier before I placed the order as I may have gone with another company to get what I wanted.

Was given an estimate to replace two windows with a french door. Sales rep was professional & informative.

I WOULD HAVE TO SAY THAT OUR OVERALL EXPERIENCE WAS NOTHING SHORT OF GREAT. IF THIS LIST IS GOING TO WORK, WE HAVE TO POST THE GREAT AS WELL AS THE BAD. THIS COMPANY WAS GREAT & HAD JUST WHAT WE NEEDED.

The response when I called for information and to set-up an appointment for an estimate to replace all the windows in my house was good. The representative who was sent out was why I wouldn't even consider using the company. Though he did a good job explaining the company's products after that he bugged me. He immediately took a patronizing attitude IE ''I didn't know what I really liked'' and ''he would take care of me.'' Second-- he sat down scratched out numbers and told me ''if I signed the contract today'' he would give me a $3000 discount.'' Since he was my second bid -- it turns out he was $3000 higher in the first place. I asked him to leave (which he did promptly) after telling him he just insulted my intelligence if he thought I was that stupid to sign a contract without a formal bid.

Installers were on time, friendly and completed the job with in 3 hours. They made no mess and took my old aluminum frames for disposal.

I WAS HAPPY WITH THEM. THEY DID DO SOME DAMAGE WHICH THEY PROMISED TO TAKE CARE OF, BUT I'M STILL WAITING FOR THEM TO FIX IT. Friends of mine used this company, so I used them as well. That was the big influencing factor. I was not a member of angie's List at the time so I was using word of mouth. This company had a showroom where everything displayed, did nice work.

WINDOWS ARE VERY DIFFICULT AND THEY MADE IT VERY EASY. THEY DID A GREAT JOB. THEY ALSO HAVE A KITCHEN REMODELING EDITION AND WE'RE PROBABLY GOING TO GIVE THEM A TRY IN THE NEXT FEW YEARS.

Very pushy salesman! High pressure, gave bid, we said too much, he said 'well, how much did you want to spend?' Said bid was originally $18-$20,000, then said $26,500, but we could deal! Called back days later and asked when we wanted work to start. We said we're getting more bids. He said if we didn't go with him by 1/31, price would go up 7.5% to 15%. Reminded us of a 'used car salesman'. We prefer companies that give their true, honest, low bid and then let you decide.

Everything was done perfectly. They did the work the day of Christmas eve and were done in half a day. They (3-man crew) arrived in the morning and were finished up in the early afternoon, replacing all windows and two large patio doors in a 4-bedroom house. I can't believe how fast they worked, and today, a year later, the work is still first rate.

THE PERSON WHO CAME TO GIVE THE ESTIMATE WAS NOT AN AGRESSIVE SALESMAN AND WAS KNOWLEDGABLE. HE WAS A FORMER INSTALLER. HE SPOKE VERY HIGHLY OF THE INTEGRITY OF THE COMPANY'S OWNERS, WHICH WAS A COMMON THEME AMONG THE EMPLOYEES I MET. THE INSTALLERS WERE VERY COOPERATIVE AND CAPABLE.

MY OVERALL EXPERIENCE WITH AMERICAN VISION WINDOWS WAS GOOD. THE INITIAL CONSULTATION AND ESTIMATE WERE DONE BY A SALESMAN THAT WAS KNOWLEDGEABLE AND ANSWERED EACH OF MY QUESTIONS. A FOLLOW-UP APPOINTMENT WAS MADE TO CONFIRM MEASUREMENTS PRIOR TO THE ORDERING OF THE WINDOWS. ALL BUT ONE OF THE WINDOWS ARRIVED IN THE TIME PERIOD I HAD BEEN QUOTED. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT SEVERAL OF THE EMPLOYEES THAT DID THE ACTUAL INSTALLATION HAD AN APPEARANCE THAT WAS LESS THAN PROFESSIONAL. THEY LOOKED LIKE GANG MEMBERS, TATTOOS AND ALL. I FOUND TWO OF THEM IN AN AREA OF THE HOUSE THAT WAS HAVING NO WORK DONE. THEY CLAIMED TO BE CLEANING UP. NO PROPERTY WAS FOUND MISSING FROM MY HOME, BUT I FOUND THE BEHAVIOR QUESTIONABLE. I CONTACTED THE COMPANY TO FOLLOW-UP ON MY CONCERNS AND WAS POLITELY DISMISSED.

THEY WERE PUNCTUAL AND PHENOMENAL. THEY WERE VERY FAST. THEY GOT THERE AT 11 AM AND WERE GONE BY 2:30 PM. THEY MOUNTED THE DOORS AND SEALED THEM. THEY CLEANED THE WINDOWS.

THE QUALITY OF THE PRODUCT I THINK WAS QUITE GOOD. THE SERVICE AND THE CAPABILITIES OF THE CREW WERE MIXED. SOME WERE QUITE GOOD, BUT THE NEXT DAY I KIND OF GOT A "B" CREW. IF I HAD NOT HAVE BEEN HERE, IT WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN A SUCCESSFUL JOB. THE MATERIALS PROVIDER DOESN'T GIVE THEM EVERYTHING THEY NEED. THEY CAME UP SHORT ON SUPPLIES. I EVEN HAD TO PROVIDE THE GLASS CLEANER.
