American Vision Windows

I was desperate after my experience with Home Depot went bad. Immediately, I was greeted by either the owner or someone in charge. I told them my situation and rather than capitalizing on my desperation, he gave me detailed information on my options and told me to think about it before I make a choice. He told me to go back to Home Depot and ask them for options as well. He offered to come out to my place for free and look at the issues.

Good. They must have misplaced the original quote (luckily I had scanned a copy of it beofer they left) because by the time the came in to give us our final price, they raised it by $300. Once I gave them a copy of the original estimate, they apologized and went with that. They're very helpful and on it, I'm very happy with their services overall.

They were great. I like their attitude and they way they handled the business was just very good. The one that came out to put the windows in were great too. They cleaned it up afterwards and did a good job.

They were very professional and the work was beautiful. They cleaned up after themselves really well too.

They cleaned up every day before they left even if they were coming back. They were punctual, if there was one minor thing wrong they came back and fixed it right away. The pricing was moderate but they gave great service!

This is an outstanding company in every way. From the sales rep consultation and order placement to the install everything exceeded my expectations. This was done as a retrofit and I was amazed how quickly and efficiently the work was done with no damage to interior or exterior walls. The sales rep was excellent and the men that did the install were quiet, efficient, highly skilled and knowledgeable. This company was started by a couple that had a bad experience with windows, so they started their own company. Lucky for us. In this day and age it is such a pleasure to do business with an ethical company with excellent customer service and the quality products to back it up.

Our old aluminum framed windows were stuck shut and we needed new ones! After researching, we chose American Vision and Anlin windows for their high marks. Our salesman was informative and courteous and our windows arrived in the allotted time frame and the price was right. Three crews of 2 men each came to install and, much to our amazement, had the windows installed and cleaned inside and out in 6 hours. No broken glass or litter remained, and we were impressed with their organization, skill and politeness. Our new windows keep our home quiet and can be opened with one finger. What a great choice! The price includes 17 windows, city building permit ($650!) and installation. We also purchased plantatin shutters which are not included in the price as they are scheduled for middle of May. We are sure that the same virtues of the window installation will be part of this installation as well.

We found American Vision Windows on Angie?s List. We debated between AVW and one other company and decided to go with American Vision Windows in the end. The deciding factor really came down to the project management team. We worked with Armen Hovakimyan. He is very attentive and made us feel like our business was important. He was very responsive (even on weekends) to all of our calls and emails. We were changing 3 patio doors and 13 windows so we had a lot of questions. Not only did he answer all of our questions, he welcomed them. He understood that this was not a small purchase and he wanted us to feel comfortable with our decision. I don?t buy anything without doing tons of research first. In the end, American Vision Windows offered strong, durable windows at a very reasonable price. We went with the Anlin windows with exterior molding and interior casing. Everything turned out beautifully. We received our windows about 5 weeks after the final measurements were made. Right after we got our windows we hosted two parties and received lots of compliments. My dad, who is known for being a strong critic, commented on the good quality of the windows. If you are looking for great windows at a competitive price, go with American Vision Windows. Be sure to ask for Armen!!! He?s just a good person to work with and super honest. You won?t regret it!

Things went okay with them. I liked their products. I liked the way they installed the products. The communcation between the sales people and the installers was lacking. I would have to correct the installers before they installed since they did not realize things like they needed to give me a doorknob. They told me the window was the wrong size, but they did not realize that we discussed with sales people why that was and what needed to be done. The agreement was that they would finish up by painting the trim. The sales person said they would but the installer said no. They did eventually come back to complete the job.

Update: My review was long overdue in being written and since our experience it seems that there has been a management change. Jeffrey the new manager seems very nice and thoroughly dedicated to customer service. Based on his reaching out and our overall impression of his customer focus have updated the review. Our original experience was definitely worth an F rating but with new management seems that there is an improved focus on sales approach adhering to company values so based on this seems worth considering them for future needs. Original Experience: Our original experience was beyond words, more like buying a used car with high pressured sales approach. First there was the quality demonstration where our cheap Home Depot Jeld-Wen windows performed just as well as their sample. Then there was the story about the founders of the company, sounded like a speech from a multi-level marketing company. The sales guy claimed that the founders have plenty of money from the wife's family and don't need to be in business. Then to try to close the deal that night, the guy wanted to call his manager on the East Coast late at night to approve some crazy deal. Mind you their price was more expensive than even Pella. The whole thing was pretty painful and the guy stayed for more than 2 hours. He was nice enough but the high pressure sales technique was nothing we wanted to use for our house and we nearly had to force him to leave.

I was pleased with the service. They were professional and it was a good company to work with and the prices were competitive.

When we met with American Vision Windows were were impressed from the start. The person we met said he would be the person i n charge of the project and our contact person. He offered us a medium/high grade triple pane window with a lifetime warranty including accidental breakage. Because of the grade of window, we received a $300.00 rebate from the Southern California Edison Company. During the month of February they waived the sales tax and installation fees resulting in a savings of over $1350.00 over the other firms we obtained bids from. We were told it would take about six weeks to make the custom windows but they were ready for installation in three weeks, a pleasant surprise. We couldn't be happier with the work and professionalism.t

We received an outstanding sales presentation from a clearly knowledgeable salesman, who described the replacement window process in precise, clear detail. When it came to the estimate, we were put off by the announcement of a gross price and then a number of unsolicited discounts, resulting in a net price. It appeared gimicky and off-putting to hear of a gross and and then net figure rather than one straight-on summary cost for the project. Also, we recognized that the company's ubiquitous advertising on radio and TV were a factor in determining the cost of the project, which after the "discounts" was higher than competing firms.

They are really professional and are geared to take care of all the details. There was a scratch on one of the windows so American Vision contacted the manufacturer of the windows; they came out and already have replaced the crack that was on the window. They are really into follow-up and I felt that everything was very professional. I think my price was high because I had extremely custom sizes and decided to do several options.

The sales guy made me feel comfortable and was totally transparent giving me his own personal advice and the differences in AVW's product vs. the competitors. He was also very thorough and gave a great demonstration on the windows. I checked out one other company and the guy seemed really salesy and beat around the bush on cost. He also wasn't thorough like like AVW - didn't bring any samples or real brochures. Instead he told me to visit him at the showroom later in the week. Who has time for that! I committed to AVW and got a free upgrade to triple pane windows with no tax and was able to save a lot of money. Windows are really expensive, but AVW seemed to have the best deal. Throughout the entire process AVW was responsive and the installation crew were always on time (early) and courteous. One of my windows was ordered incorrectly and a roof tile was broken during installation, but they came out the next day and replaced the broken tile and my window was corrected within 2 weeks. Overall, I was really pleased with my experience with AVW from start to finish and would recommend them and would use them for new entry doors next year.

We were visited by ?Don? who presented himself as the vice president of American Vision who started the business with the husband and wife that own the firm. He was not the ?normal? salesman, and came on this bid since it was close to their office. During the course of the conversation, he told me that this would save us money, since he was not on a commission, so that part could be factored out of the bid. He went around the house and counted the windows (not measured) and then did some calculations on his smartphone, and showed me the result on the phone which was a little over $28,000 for 30 windows and 2 sliders. He told me that we now needed to figure out how to get the price below that. I told him we had gotten a bid a awhile back from Lowes, for about $22,000, but were not going with them. I told him we were waiting for a bid from another company and that I would get back to him after I heard from them. He asked me if they actually measured the windows which I told them they had. He said well, then it?s not really fair if they got the actual measurements and he did not. How he was able to even show me the $28,000 number without measuring I do not understand. I then admitted that they were at $20,000 and working on trying to reduce that further. He guessed who the other company was, and then told me that because if American Visions size, they could afford to beat them and take a loss. I was fortunate that he came instead of one of the salesman, since he had the authority to bid the job at a loss. He was not able to explain why he would even want to do that. I said I was put off by someone that would suggest a price close to $30,000 and then in a matter of a few sentences, come down below $20,000. He seemed to think because they were bigger made them better and that I should be impressed with someone who would take a loss (supposedly) just to beat the competition. I guess he could tell that his high pressure, negative sale against the competition was not getting him anywhere, that he ended up thankfully leaving. He took his brochure and business card with him. I am in the sales business and manage a division with over 40 sales people and revenues of over $40,000,000. I would never do business with someone with this sales approach. In fact, I dream of going up against someone this obnoxious. Needless to say, American Vision will not get this job. They may still be a great company, with a just a very poor representative.

I was promised an estimate within 2 days. It has been 10 days and I haven't heard a word. After two days on a Friday, I did receive a call and ,message from the office manager Francine, asking me how the visit went. I waited until Monday to return her call in case the bid came over the weekend and on the Monday I returned her call and told her I had not received an estimate and she said she would make sure I get one "that's where I come in,". Its been four days since I spoke to her and no estimate, 10 days since the initial visit. I have checked my spam folder too. No email, no phone calls. I am really disappointed in American Vision Windows. So much for the commercials on KFI radio extolling the virtues of the superior customer service of American Vision Windows. There is no customer service. I can't believe they visit a previous customer and don't even submit the bid. I was a sure bet, but obviously have to go elsewhere now.

Extremely happy overall. I originally contracted them 4 years ago to replace all the windows in my house during a remodeling project. The product quality was outstanding. I used triple pain gas filled to reduce the electrical consumption. I have not been able to locate a better product anywhere. The installation process was professional. There where a few minor tweaks that need to be made but considering the amount of windows being replaced I rate the quality as excellent. The real story is after the honeymoon is over. Last month we had a break in and they destroyed a window and frame. I needed a new window. This would be a small sale to them. The amazing thing was they treated me as if I was buying $16000 worth of windows again. I was even able to work with the same people as I did four years ago. When a company can retain good employees, that stands out to me. There customer service people are great. I would like to especially thank Tracy.

The experience was very pleasant. It was a 2-day job. Nine people showed up the first day and replaced the windows doors. The second day was final trim and stucco work.Color matched the stucco. Crew left the house quite clean Wife and I were impressed with the professionalism and courteousness.

We had three window companies come to discuss our window replacement needs and to provide estimates. We chose American Vision Windows because we believe they had the best product and they said they could custom build the windows to the triangular specs that we wanted to replace the existing windows in the upper part of the raised (cathedral) ceiling. The rep. we dealt with was very willing to lower his bid by $100 to match the bid we received from one of the other window companies. The installers did a beautiful job....not an easy task installing such large windows in the ceiling space. The finished product looks better than we had anticipated and we are very very pleased with the company, the people associated with the company, and of course the windows.

A representative came out and measured. We chatted about two possible ways to go. I thought we were done. A week later I called and was told that I did not have an hour long sit down with the person who came over and that no estimate could be done. This company makes no sense to me. What is the hour long sit down for? Is that for the hard sell? Phony.

Our windows look good and function well. We didn't get what the salesman promised us because he didn't measure our sliding glass door. But the real issue is we're still picking up broken glass in our yard 5 months after the they finished the job - and we have a toddler.
