I needed a one time house cleaning before our first "Open House" to sell our home. At the last minute, right before Father's Day weekend we realized with all of the last minute details to get the house ready to show, we were not going to have the time to do an final thorough cleaning. Basically, the three ladies who came to clean the house were overworked as they were in a hurry because they still have three or four houses to clean after ours. The area I asked them to clean was within the scope of the advertised size. So I had the impression that what I paid for was in accordance with what was advertised. But when they came, the leader of the group, I think her name was Diana, said that since they were three, the number of hours for them to work will have to be adjusted accordingly. I agreed since I have a cleaning lady that comes every week anyway. When they were about to leave, they forgot to clean one room which was counted before they started. They rushed to finish it because they were going to be late for the next job. I gave each a $10.00 tip because I felt that they deserved it. But when I examined the work after they had left, I was sadly disappointed. I don't think they gave the job their best effort. For example, calcium deposits in the master bathroom was left uncleaned as shown on photo.

In response to this review, yes the leader of the group was right to say that the time had to be adjusted accordingly since they were three housekeepers on site. If a job is done using more man power, of course the time has to be adjusted down. There is no wrong practice about that. Also, Clean Palace Housekeeping does not schedule 4 or 5 properties in a day, as stated here. There wouldn't be enough hours in a day to complete a well enough job that way. Also, we certainly wouldn't want to inconvenience anyone with our crews in their house after they come back from a long day of work or school. We do not rush, but we do try to work efficiently. We're sorry to hear this type of feedback and regret that we didn't get the opportunity to hear the homeowner's concerns in a timely matter, or while the housekeepers were at the house. We would have taken the time to discuss it and try to find a solution. We are glad to know, though, that the housekeepers were tipped because the homeowner felt they deserved it. We appreciate the homeowner providing the "after" photos, but these photos alone don't determine how much work was done, and how much effort was put by the housekeeper in this particular project. This was a whole house, not well maintained, one time cleaning, and very challenging job. The crew assigned put their best efforts and expertise, and did the best they could in the time that they had.

Sorry in advance for this long review. Court proceedings are done (YES, you read that correctly), and I feel it's my responsibility as an Angie's List (AL) member to share my experience. I'm certain that during my years using AL that I've been spared a lot of "bad" contractors, so it's my turn to help spare others. Everything I say here is fact. I'll try not to provide judgment and leave that part up to you. First, Judy does NOT clean. She's simply a "middle-man" who schedules cleaners. I was charged exactly DOUBLE what she paid her cleaners. I don't know if this is always how she prices her jobs. Secondly, I'm an extremely honest person. I've NEVER once sued anyone nor have I ever been sued. If I haven't paid a bill, it's because I either lost it or never received it (both rare things). My credit record is stellar. I can't handle dishonesty, especially from adults. Thirdly, in this review, I'll freely admit the mistakes I made. Let's get to the review. We were moving into our new house on Tues., June 9th, 2015. We'd recently refinished the hardwood floors, so there was an EXCESSIVE amount of dust. The house required a very deep cleaning. The woman who was scheduled to clean had to cancel on Fri., June 5th. I was desperate to find someone at such short notice. I found Judy?s Clean Palace Housekeeping on AL after a quick search on my phone. I called two companies. Judy was the first one to call me back. (MISTAKE #1: I DIDN'T THOROUGHLY READ HER REVIEWS.) Judy had a crew available to clean on Mon., June 8th, and she explained that they'd provide a very thorough deep cleaning. She tried to tell me about a ?deal,? which was quite confusing. It would be X hours for X amount of money if you do this or that and purchase it on the AL website. Her explanation of this ?package? kept changing. I told her several times that I wasn't concerned about how many hours the ladies would be there. My concern was having the house completely clean before we moved in. I told her that with 4 people, I expected them to be there all day because (1) the house is nearly 3,600 square feet and (2) the house was incredibly dusty. She agreed with my assessment during the phone call. We didn't agree on a price then because we were both unsure about how long the cleaners would take. She told me to call her when the cleaning was complete so we could figure out the amount of the check that I needed to write. (NOTE: THIS WAS ALL DISCUSSED IN SMALL-CLAIMS COURT, AND SHE DIDN'T DENY ANY OF THIS.) The four cleaners, including Housekeeper #1 (HK1), were so nice. They showed up on time at 9 a.m. (I was actually 5 minutes late getting to the house because my packers were running late.) I showed them around and gave them lots of cleaning supplies/chemicals that I'd purchased. I reiterated that every square inch of the vacant house needed to be cleaned, including the insides of the closets, cabinets, etc. I felt I was in good hands, so I planned to head back to my old house to supervise the packing. I told them I'd be back in the early afternoon to check on them when I?d be out buying lunch for the packers. Once I got in my car, I realized I'd forgotten my phone, so I went back into the house. The ladies were standing in a circle in the empty living room holding hands with their eyes closed. Although this caught me off-guard, I figured they must've been praying, so I quietly apologized, grabbed my phone, and ran back out to the car. I have nothing against this. My only point in mentioning this is that they didn't get straight to work cleaning the house. I have no idea how long they were praying (which is what I assume they were doing). It was after 9:30 a.m. when I left the house. I went back to the house at 1 p.m. I was shocked to hear the ladies saying they were finished. I had expected them to be there all day. As I was in a rush to return to packing at the old house, I didn't have time to thoroughly check the house (MISTAKE #2). The ?head? cleaning lady, HK1, was on the phone with Judy trying to figure out what they should charge me. I don?t speak Spanish fluently, but I could tell by her facial expressions, body language, and volume of her voice that something wasn?t right. Their phone conversation lasted several minutes. I was told to write the check for $640. It surprised me, but I was in such a rush, and I knew this lady was just the messenger, so I wrote the check (MISTAKE #3). It wasn?t until later in the afternoon that I started doing the math and realized that I'd way overpaid for this service. They cleaned for a maximum of 4.5 hours. The math comes out to $35.56 per hour per cleaning lady. (NOTE: THE 4.5-HOUR TIME PERIOD WAS NOT DISPUTED IN SMALL-CLAIMS COURT.) I texted Judy to find out if I'd overpaid. She called me shortly after. As she did on the phone during our first conversation, she kept trying to tell me how the ?deals? worked. It was very confusing, and she kept changing the amounts. In addition, she kept telling me that the cleaning ladies had worked for a longer amount of time than what I knew they'd worked. I hung up the phone more confused than ever & feeling very cheated. I was unable to return to the new house until 1 p.m. the next day (Tues., June 9th) as I was supervising the movers all morning at the old house. It was time for the moving truck to leave the old house and head to the new one, so I got a head start and arrived at the house at about 1 p.m. Much to my dismay, I saw that most of the insides of the closets & cabinets were filthy. They hadn't even been touched. Not even the shelves that were EASILY accessible had been cleaned. Immediately, I took photos & texted them to Judy to show her proof that the house hadn't been deeply cleaned at all. We had a couple brief phone conversations, but I told her the movers were arriving, so I didn?t have time to talk. I made her aware about how upsetting it was to see the house in that condition. She wanted to send the ladies back to clean right at that moment, but at that point, I already was knee deep in CLEANING IT MYSELF because I had to unpack and put things away. She proceeds to send me texts that day about the pricing, hours, etc., but NOTHING about the mess. No apologies about the mess at all. Two days later, on Thurs., June 11th, two of the cleaning ladies knocked on my door with no advance notice. It was HK1 and her daughter (HK2). I let them in, and we talked about what had happened. They told me that they were shocked that Judy had charged me $640. They told me they'd been paid $320 TOTAL for all four ladies. In addition, they told me that on the phone that day (June 8th), Judy was rushing them to another job, which is why they didn't have time to finish the deep cleaning. HK2 even made a comment about how Judy has done this type of thing before. (NOTE: HK1 APPEARED IN SMALL-CLAIMS COURT BUT WAS HESITANT TO TAKE EITHER MY SIDE OR JUDY'S. AT COURT, JUDY NEVER DENIED SENDING THE LADIES OFF EARLY TO ANOTHER JOB.) They were well aware that they hadn't cleaned thoroughly & felt really badly and wanted to clean right then and there. However, given (1) I'd already cleaned most of the mess myself and (2) the state of the boxes/unpacking all over the house, I told them that now was not a good time. HK1 gave me her business card, and I told her I?d call her soon to have them come back and clean some more. A week or two later, HK1 & HK2 did return to clean, but it was at my expense. My issue did not involve them. The problem was with Judy. I texted Judy to let her know that the ladies had stopped by & had told the truth. The next day, on Fri., June 12th, I placed a stop payment on the $640 check I'd written, because I realized it hadn't yet been cashed. This was the first time in my life that I?d ever scheduled a stop payment on a check. (MISTAKE #4: I DIDN'T NOTIFY JUDY THAT I'D ISSUED A STOP PAYMENT.) The next few weeks were crazy & hectic with all that comes with moving. Soon, we were headed to the east coast for vacation. We didn't have the issue resolved yet. While gone, we exchanged text messages and agreed on $400 as the price I'd pay. We returned in mid-Aug., and 3 days later my kids started school, they got lice, I was hospitalized with kidney stones, etc. Honestly, with everything going on, I FORGOT to send her payment. I never received a paper bill (MISTAKE #5: I DIDN'T ASK FOR A PAPER BILL.), and it slipped my mind. On Sept. 5th, I received certified mail threatening me with a summons if I didn?t pay $640. I was shocked that now she was BACK UP TO $640. I immediately sent her a check for $350, which was more than she'd paid out. I texted Judy to say she'd be receiving the payment in her mailbox by Sept. 14th. She never answered & never cashed the check. (MISTAKE #6: I SHOULD'VE JUST SENT $400, BUT I WAS SO ANGRY BY HER RAISING THE PRICE BACK UP TO $640.) I then received a summons/lawsuit for $640. An edited summons arrived later with ADDITIONAL $1,555 added onto the lawsuit! I went to court to defend myself, but I couldn't believe taxpayer $$$ was being wasted on this. Judy was 25 mins. late, she repeatedly referred to me angrily as "woman," said several times that she was there to "get you!" It was bizarre. She seemed bothered that I was actually nice. I apologized for forgetting to pay $400 right away. It was not intentional. Judy never apologized and even told the judge that she?d been willing to accept $320. Not once did she ever say that to me or text that to me. Judge wanted us to settle for $450. We both agreed. But, she wanted to keep the $350 check, too! Settlement doesn't work that way. The $350 was void the second we walked in the courtroom. Judge said he'd mail his decision. In the end, I had to pay $576 for a not-so-Clean Palace. Judge applied a formula to calculate payment. Unfortunately, the formula didn't account for me cleaning up 80% of the mess they left. But, still better than the $2,195 she wanted.

They were on time and they seemed pretty professional but they missed large chunks of areas. They forgot to clean an entire bathroom. I'm really disappointed. This was my first company off of Angie's List.
Description of Work: We called this company to do a thorough cleaning of our house. We recently had work done and there was a lot of dust everywhere. I kept stressing over and over again how important it was to dust everything really well since we have 2 small children and the two women sent to my house reassured me that they would do a thorough job. This was a Deep Clean project for a post construction. Doing laundry is not included, but we do offer the service for an additional pre-negotiated fee. We were not told there was laundry to do, but when the housekeepers got there, they were asked to do 3 loads, including towels and linens, and they did it. They ended up staying 30 more minutes, and did not charge the additional fee. As our usual practice, before leaving the house, the head housekeeper asked the homeowner if everything was okey, and she said yes, and tipped them. We appreciate the opportunity to serve our customers, we want to make it simple, is easier to go the extra mile with a positive attitude, than fight against it.

Both times I used a coupon to contract this service through Angie's List. Not only were the ladies punctual, they called/texted their time of arrival so that there would be no confusion as to when they would start work. The most impressive part of our kitchen cleaning was the condition of our ovens before and after cleaning. They were pretty dirty prior to cleaning, and they looked new after the cleaning. The ladies moved things around to really get to a deep clean, and I was impressed. Our current housekeeper cleans around things, and does not move objects. They are more expensive than our weekly housekeeper, but their level of "clean" is far different than what we are used to. The ladies also took instruction quite well, the listened, and performed.
Description of Work: Thorough deep cleaning of specific areas. The first time was kitchen and downstairs. The second time was our guesthouse.

I wasn't there but I had a guest who was there. My understanding of that situation is that it did not go well. I would not use them again based on the feedback that I got from the guest. They were not prepared and they didn't have basic supplies. The job they did was marginal at best. The other issue is that they asked for more money and luckily, my guest said no. Their price wasn't competitive by any means. They were pretty responsive. They were late, is what I understand.

We have a crew of experienced housekeepers that have done one time cleanings for a long time. One time cleanings require hard work, dedication, and a great deal of expertise in managing time wisely. There is no such thing as them showing to work not prepared, and without the necessary supplies. They are known to perform thorough work, not marginal. In this particular situation they where supposed to show up between 8:00-8:30 AM, and they got there at 8:30 AM. That is not considered late.

When the cleaners came out they only provided a basic cleaning, rather than a "deep" housecleaning. I noticed this because when I got home I could tell that nothing more than your standard vacuuming and dusting was done. It's as if they halfway did the cleaning. I'm extremely disappointed in the service, or lack there of. The owner is wanting to have a meeting, which I do not have time to do, due to potentially having renters moving into the home asap.

First of all, we would like to mention that not even our regular cleaning consist of just standard vacuuming and dusting. We are naturally very thorough, and a Deep Cleaning is just that, except that we go deeper and reach higher areas. This property was vacant, 3 story with 4 bathrooms. It was what we consider "Excessively Dirty" where some of the blinds for instance, were covered in a thick sticky film. In a property of this size and condition would require SEVERAL visits in order to eventually bring it to a deep clean stage. It is unreasonable to expect this result in one visit. We quoted the homeowner for 5 hours, 2 housekeepers, and we were not paid the agreed amount. Yes, regardless of the situation, we were willing to talk things over, but as the homeowner states, he was to busy for that.

I purchased the 8 hours for $260 special on Angie's List. We have a deep cleaning twice a year and maintain the home the rest of the year. I think our house is probably pretty clean in terms of what cleaners see, we vacuum weekly as well as dust and clean the bathrooms, but we do benefit from having these deep cleans 2x per year, particularly in the bathrooms and kitchen. This is the first time we used this provider and with the great reviews and reasonable Angie's List deal we went forward. First, they shorted us by an hour but Judy, the owner was very nice and sent us a check for that amount after she was aware of the problems. I'd like to commend her for being very on top of complaints. Having said that, it wouldn't be right to not mention the problems we had. We have four rooms with hardwood floors, none of those floors were cleaned (the rest of our house is tile and a couple of rooms with carpet, those were cleaned/vacuumed). No shelves in my office were cleaned, the tables in our living room were not wiped down (obvious drink rings were left behind), the nightstands were not cleaned. Most of the photos hanging in the hallway were still dusty after they left. That is pretty disappointing when you are spending a nice chunk of cash to have cleaners. Judy did offer to have the cleaners return but we elected just to do that work ourselves after they left. The kitchen and bathrooms were clean and they did a thorough job of vacuuming our furniture.

As a new Angie's List client, I wasn't aware that I needed to make a final phone contact with the provider before they arrived. I thought they would be there on the scheduled and agreed to date and time. When they did not appear I was disappointed , but didn't know that I should refer to the message board. I attempted calling the phone number listed but it was not in order. The service apparently has called me earlier to confirm and I didn't get the message. Now I am aware that I need to use the message board. I the meantime, I cleaned my house. Angie's list cancelled my credit card purchase for the cleaning and it was credited to my account. I explained the situation to the cleaning service when they attempted to reschedule. I made a mistake and the service was not at fault. I appreciated Angie's List's reversal of the charges.

Two ladies came and cleaned. Very nice and they worked together to move the furniture away from the wall to clean behind them. Even did the windows. Thank you.

We have been very pleased with Clean Palace. They do a great job cleaning our house and are responsive overnight to reservation requests. Our house is a rental and we frequently update and change cleaning times. We also require a narrow window from when guests check out to when the next guest arrives. Clean Palace handles it all in stride. Quick responses via phone or email within 24 hours or less.

I was told the cleaning crew would be at the property in-between 1:00pm - 2:00pm and they did not arrive until 8:00pm. I was in touch with the housekeeper throughout the day and was told multiple times that she was on the way, when she was not even in route to the property. The housekeeper had car troubles and needed to pick up more housekeepers, but she never communicated this to me. I would have hired another team of cleaners to go out to the property if I knew that this was going on. This was a huge inconvenience to my team who waited around for the cleaners to show up all day. The company also billed us for the wrong amount of time claiming that they ended their cleaning at 5:30am. They did not finish cleaning the property. I had to send out a second team of cleaners out in the morning to finish the job.

Yes, the housekeepers had car trouble, but even though this was a situation out of their control, they managed to show up at the property at 8:00 PM. They worked in the evening up to 5:30 in the morning. This property was in a remote location, so we lost communication with the head housekeeper, and we were not aware that the housekeepers worked until morning hours. The person on site (not the member), who instructed them what to, had them do a tremendous amount of extra tasks that were not in the agreement. Housekeepers did 10 bathrooms (this was a hotel type of property), did laundry for 10 rooms, linen folding, took out excessive trash, and even did organizing. When we initially spoke to the member, she clearly said they didn't have to do beds or laundry. The person on site told the housekeepers to do what they could, as if he was acknowledging the outrageous amount of work load needed to be done. In addition, member did not paid us for all the extra after hours the housekeepers worked. How inappropriate!

Rosy, Rosario, and Lucy showed up right on time. My dad is in the hospital, so I took this opportunity to have his house cleaned. It was VERY dirty and dusty and hadn't been cleaned in a long time. They worked VERY hard and got the job done in 2-1/2 hours. They did a great job. I will use them again.
