+ -1 moreOn time. clean. did exactly what I wanted. I always use Randy's plumbing because I have never had a problem with any of their repairs. Three months ago they fixed a pinhole leak in a pipe and told me that repaired part will never leak again. I am planning on having them copper recipe my house soon.
Description of Work: Removed old toilet. Repaired seal. Put in new toilet with larger oval seat and higher seat.

Description of Work: We had a cracked pipe and a blocked drain on Thursday. The living room ceiling collapsed. Water gushed everywhere. Russ took his time getting here. He fixed a cracked pipe on Tuesday and left. The next day the bathtub in one of the bathrooms backed up. Randy's Plumbing said they couldn't come out again until Thursday. My husband was angry and left a message for Russ. Russ came running over on Wednesday. In the meantime I had gotten a name of another plumber from a good friend who told me that it was obvious we were getting ripped off. My husband told Russ when he got here that we had found another plumber and didn't want his services any longer. |Russ told my husband that he would have to knock several holes in the wall to find the trouble. |We have used Russ several times and he always charged us "an arm and a leg." |Westerday we used AC Plumbing and they were absolutely wonderful and efficient. They made one small hole in the wall by the washing machine, used a router (which Russ didn't have) and fixed the problem in less than 2 hours, charging us less than $150. |Using Randy's plumbing was a terrible experience, especially when we needed a good plumber for an especially bad situation.

water heater repair
+ -1 moreThe owner (Randy) and his son did the installation in the time (6 hours) estimated and all connections were done along with the clean-up afterwards. Replaster of cutouts to get access to existing water and gas supply was done as well as previous mention of clean-up when job was finished.

+ 0 moreRandy's Plumbing and Heating I got a top of the line, energy saver, whatever else, water heater. I did the research to find out the top type of water heater on the market. It's a lot better than stuff from Lowe's and Home Depot and all that stuff. It's got an R16 rating, so you don't need to blanket it or anything. The old water heater wasn't earthquake strapped, but they did that too. That was included. And I got a 5% senior discount. They had replaced my pipes with copper about 15 years old, somewhere around in there, so I thought of them and I looked on your Angie's List. I seen that they were on the list. So I tried to give them a call. They looked at water heaters and did this and that. I talked to Randy himself. He recommended the Bradford White model, so I want to their site online, did a lot of research and decided that's the way I wanted to go. I called him up, that I wanted to do it. He looked and gave me the price. They actually said, "Okay. We can do it this morning for you." So, what we'll do now is send the guy over to Bradford White's warehouse and we'll pick up the water heater and be right over.

+ 0 moreRandy is clean neat experienced professional and does very good work but has a biased viewpoint and is very EXSPENSIVE.
Description of Work: Needed a toilet that wouldn't clog up with everyday use. We wanted a Toto. Randy balked said it required special fittings/adapters and recommended Kholer, so we put that in. Two weeks later it stopped up. Called him and he unstopped it in the usual way so no need to call for that again. Since then we put in a Toto no special adapters and it hasn't clogged once. We think maybe Randy hasn't kept up to date with low flush improvements. If you want to know the test results for name brands go to www.cwwa.ca/freepub_e.asp and really learn the facts. The test results in 2003 had only Toto scoring successfully. Results changed a lot in 2009 as manufacturers improved their toilets for Low Flush needs. So if Randy says no ask somebody else.

+ 0 moreI called Randy on a Wednesday and left a message with his secretary as he was out on a job for the day. He called me first thing Thursday morning, and we set up for him to come out Monday morning between 9 and 10. He arrived promptly at 9:00 with his son and they capped the outside gas line as I am having an old pool heater removed. He then came into the house to re-light the pilot light and check the dryer to make sure everything was working. He also installed a new plastic pipe to connect two existing pipes and bolted each end. He was there less than an hour.
Description of Work: Gas line capped and broken drain pipe repaired.

gas leak repair
+ -1 moreRandy was an excellent technician. He was on time, extremely knowledgeable and explained what the problem was. My fireplace caused him some problems, but he kept at the job, never complaining and keeping up an ''I can do it'' attitude. If Randy does half the job with regular plumbing jobs that he did with my gas leak; then I have found a plumber for life! I recommend this company highly.
Description of Work: When I had my chimney cleaned, they discovered a gas leak and recommended Randy's Plumbing. Not having much success with plumbers in the past... plus being surprised that plumbers also fixed gas leaks, I called Randy's Plumbing.
