We have used Deco construction a year before to remodel our bathroom downstairs. We enjoyed working with Fred at the time that we decided to go with him again. Our 2nd bathroom upstairs came out so beautiful. I love the fact that they raised the ceilings higher. It looks grand. Everyone who comes to see it loves the way it turned out. Our kitchen has a very clean look. However, it took awhile to get use to it. Because it's so different from the way it was-- we had a linoleum floor, and a white tile counter top, but now we have a beautiful tiles for the floor and a granite counter. We grew to really love our kitchen. I now enjoy cooking. I like having extra counter space to work with. Fred has such interesting life, and we enjoyed hearing his stories. If you have a chance, I hope you'll get to hear his life story. It's worth hearing. Thank you Fred, we enjoyed working with you. We are sorry for this late review.

They were great! They were thorough, they were neat, they cleaned up after themselves, and they were responsive. I thought they did a great job. The pricing was fine.
Description of Work: Deco Construction did work on and off for me from August to November. I had 3 different contracts. They did some remodeling and took down acoustic ceiling, installed appliances, put a plaster layer over the plaster wall and refinished the wall. They did new carpet in the living room, dining room, bedroom and hall and then installed a dishwasher and some shelves in the kitchen.

Fred did not show up. I called him and he said he scheduled the appt for the next day but would visit that afternoon. He did. He took measurements and said he would get back to me in about a week. It's been over a month and still no follow-up. During that time, I worked with two other AL candidates and selected one for this ~$35K job. Perhaps this job was too small for Deco but, minimally, I expected the courtesy of a call-back. I have never written a negative review and find it painful to do so, but I believe it is important to share this experience. I gave this contractor a D instead of an F in the hope there was a weird event (he lost all my contact info?) that caused this lack of service.
Description of Work: I use AL frequently to locate contractors for my home and rental properties. Usually, I have good experiences. Unfortunately, and surprisingly, my experience with Deco/Fred was very disappointing. I made an appt with Fred to get estimates for work on three bathrooms in my home.

Fred and his team are amazing-- they did this job for us in one day! Fred caught the vision of what we were looking for, got a team here who were able to do the many aspects of this job in a quick, efficient manner. From demoing the old appliances to capping off the gas and moving the gas line and updating the electrical for the range, installing the range, re-buildling cabinets and doing a little tile work...we were so happy with how it turned out! Looks like it was meant to be this way. Fred is personable and was so good with our young daughters. Fred almost always answers his phone and if he cannot talk, will get back you in a timely fashion. We were very happy with our experience with Deco and would recommend them!
Description of Work: We wanted to do a minor remodel to our kitchen--remove appliances (original to the house) and add a large gourmet range, plus cabinets (re-purposing cabinet doors) where the built-in oven was.

Fred, the owner of Deco, was in constant communication throughout the process from mid June until all projects were complete in October. All the while we were living in our home with our 2 kids and 3 pets. The workers were always on time and showed up on some Saturdays to complete their jobs.Fred's contracts are very thorough and well layed out, and he gave us tremendous discounts on materials and added projects and labor. The workers are on time, professional and do great work. I enjoyed sharing thoughts and ideas with both Fred and his crew, and appreciated their feedback. My husband and I were demanding in that we knew what we wanted, and Fred and his crew really came through. Our home is completely updated and feels new...we LOVE it, and so do our kids.We highly recommend Deco construction to any and all who want to get amazing results on any project in their home and save money and time in the process. Fred is very experienced and has done amazing work over the years. He provides top quality materials and products and is the utmost professional. I don't think you can get any better than DECO!! A+

My wife and I were thinking about remodeling our home and got 8-10 quotes from contractors. A variety of events kept us from following through for a year, but when we wanted to get rolling again, Fred at Deco Construction was the first person we both thought of when it came time to get serious again. Fred's easy manner had impressed us both -- friendly, warm, and thoughtful, he had really won us over on the personality side, but at the same time, he was the most professional and businesslike of all of the contractors we'd met. His quote was itemized and detailed to the nth degree; he came to our home MANY times, to talk, to reassure, and to just listen as we aired our interests and concerns. Fred rode the anxiety highway with us for months, coming by any day we called, helping us to get our heads right and to the point where we were ready to take the plunge. What had started as a $25K project to fix up the yard and tweak our bathroom had become a $150+ project to redo everything in our three-bed one-bath 1950s tract house -- interior walls torn out and relocated, closets done away with, the expansion of the master bed and and addition of a master bath nd walk-in closet, new appliances, elimination of doors and the dividing wall between kitchen and living room, the expansion of the latter by a large degree, the elimination of the fireplace, the installation of a forced air heating and AC system, a new and upgraded electrical panel..a big job. And to make it more challenging, we lived in the house throughout the 9-month project, through a winter, with only two livable rooms (bedroom and office), a toilet, and for a period of time, a fridge and kitchen sink available to us. This was done in order to save a lot of money on an apartment elsewhere, and it complicated Fred and his crew's tasks to no end (and lest I forget, all of Fred's workers, Juan, Salvador, Hector, Gonzalo, et al -- just a first-rate group of guys, could not have been more friendly, helpful, or efficient). But Fred could not have been any more accommodating, always ready to help, to deal with whatever we needed done, to make it as easy as possible on us, postponing aspects of the job and juggling priorities in order to make our "living" situation as "livable" as possible for as long as possible. Over and over people told us that the remodel would be h****** our marriage; the fact that it wasn't, and that we never had one fight during all that time cooped up in one bedroom, for the better part of a year, was largely because of the way Fred guided us through it. When I say that, as a contractor, Fred is too good to be true -- I mean it.

He did not perform any work as I decided to go with another contractor since I was a bit further down the road with the other contractors and many of my friends have used the contractor I hired. That said Fred was pretty responsive and his quote was enticing. He was personable and I would definetly consider him for futures projects....and I have a lot!

I think every home remodel project hinges on the quality of the contractor -- and Fred, the owner of Deco Construction, is at the top of my list when I think of good people to work with. He's very friendly and easy to get along with, which is important given how stressful it can be to go through a major home project. He he has a lot of knowledge about the different ways (and best ways) to get a job done. He cares about doing quality work for his customers. We came to trust his judgment when it came to picking out something for our home, and he usually made great choices. And when he made the wrong choice, he admitted it and agreed to the change that we asked for. There were some bumps along the way, and some unexpected costs that pushed up the cost of our project. But our home is better off for the long-term fixes that came up during the project. And I like the contractors that Fred used to help him complete the job. I won't go into all of the details, but Fred did a really good job for us. He kept his workers busy nearly 6 days a week to try to get the project done as quickly as possible. We really liked his crew, except for one worker who didn't seem to care about quality; and after talking to Fred, that worker did not return to our home. Bottom line: Our whole family came away from the experience thinking of him as "Uncle Fred" -- sort of a family friend more than a contractor. He really cares about his customers, about doing the job right, and making sure that the customer is happy and the home is being cared for in the right way. I strongly suggest that you contact Fred about your home project. He will give you the million-dollar treatment even though you don't have that kind of budget.

I had to call the contractor 3 times to REMIND someone to fix and make the roof look nice after they removed the all the wood. After 2 times, they had forgotten to come with no call to reschedule. At the 3rd time, the person that fixed the roof didn't do a complete job and had to come back to finish the flushings on the side of the roof. It is still NOT done as of today! The roofer said he will return on Monday and still no one has come...very very disappointed again. Maybe my house is not worth millions of dollars like his other projects. ?
Description of Work: They helped with removing the wooded roofing in my backyard that was essentially the patio cover extended from the house to have more light. He came over and discussed the project and stated that it could be done in 48 hours, but the actual demolition & disposal of the wood was done in 48hours, but the patch up and making the roof look nice took more than 1 month!! Not as what was quoted. Very disappointed. Owner stated that he was very busy...?

We are based out of Northern California, about 400 miles away from the LA area and needed to remodel this family house for sale. The house needed to be brought into the 21st century and, we needed a contractor we could trust given our inability to monitor progress because of our location. We met with four contractors but went with Deco because the owner, Fred, was responsive (he has personally answered every call I have ever made to him), has been in the business for decades, gave us the most reasonable quote, gave great design guidance and knows what he is doing. Before we left town, we popped by the Deco showroom and picked out our materials. Ali managed our project and he did an amazing job in terms of promptly getting work done and the quality of the work itself. When the open house came to pass, the prospective buyers all raved about how gorgeous the house is. We signed a contract at the end of December 2012 and the work we initially requested was done ahead of schedule (target completion date was mid-March). They drew up the plans and went to work straightaway. Admittedly, at the last minute, we decided to have the heater and air conditioning system completely redone and a fence put in (after visiting the property at the end of April) and both were done within days of our request. As we were out of the area, they thoughtfully hired a gardener to mow the lawn and tend to the garden until we were ready to put the house on the market. Deco went above and beyond on almost everything. I only wish they were in Northern California so I could hire them too...
Description of Work: Everything but the roof - complete demolition, re-plumb, rewire electrial, intall fans in bathrooms and kitchen, recessed lighting throughout, remove old flooring and install engineered wood throughout living space, installed travertine in kitchen and bathrooms (flooring), refaced fireplace, install new cabinets, bathroom and kitchen fixtures, retile bathroom, install all bathroom fixtures, kitchen appliances, installed wallboard in house and garage, new windows throughout house, new (irregular) sliding glass door, reconfigured layout to create master bathroom, painted interior, removed outdated decor on home exterior, and stuccoed exterior of house, painted garage floor, coated driveway, installed fance alongside house, intalled new heating and A/C, and did landscaping (lawn, sprinklers, planted flowers and trees)

As Angie suggest, we contacted 3 different contractors for estimates. Of the 3, Deco Construction provided the most complete and detailed estimate. However, it was Fred's commitment to quality and willingness to stay within our budget that impressed us the most. The Deco crew was always professional, on time and cleaned up before leaving for the day. If we had any questions, Fred was never more that a phone call away. Fred was very personable and offered his assistance in helping us make better choices, based on his knowledge and experience. We have been cooking and living with our new kitchen for over 2 months, we are so pleased and happy with all the workmanship and products we selected! We highly recommend Deco Construction and would hire them again for any future home improvement projects.
Description of Work: Our kitchen was a total redesign. The floor plan required appliances moved and a pony wall demolished. The plumbing and gas lines needed to be reconfigured. The electrical was updated to GFCI outlets with additional breakers. A new exterior double door and a window were installed. Received new cabinets, crown molding, sink w/faucet, cork flooring, granite countertop w/backsplash, recessed and under cabinet lighting. The installation of all new appliances, refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher and frontload washer/dryer. The dry wall, painting and stucco repairs were included.

My fiance and I finally decided to remodel our kitchen after thinking about it for 7+ years. We signed up on Angie's List to review contractors because my major concern when it came to choosing a contractor was trust. I wanted someone reliable, honest, and professional. After reading through several reviews, Fred from Deco Construction stood out and we set up a meeting with him. He came to our house to see the scope of the work and then we met a few days later at his office to go over the estimate. Just as the reviews we read mentioned, he itemized every aspect of the job so we knew exactly how much of our money was going where. The price seemed fair and we didn't interview any other contractors like we originally planned because we thought it would be a waste of our time. Again, my priorities were finding someone reliable, honest and professional and I found all those things with Fred. The Work The demo started and Fred's crew found that our old kitchen had a lot of concrete layers on the ground AND the kitchen countertops which was unexpected. They gutted the kitchen down to the studs. (Note: the price listed in how much we spent did not include the cost of the cabinets or appliances which we got ourselves). Simultaneously Fred's crew removed a window from our living room that we always kept covered up with a curtain because our TV was there, and transformed it into a wall, where we now mount our TV. Also going on at the same time, Fred had an electrician come and put recessed lighting throughout the whole house (kitchen, living room, front hallway, office, two bedrooms, master bathroom). Additionally, smoke alarms and exhaust fan in master bathroom were also put in. Needless to say the first three weeks of the job the house was EXTREMELY dusty. If you are going to remodel and plan on living in the house during the remodel like we did, be prepared for that. They also repainted the entire interior of the house. The lighting work and living room work were done fairly quickly. With the rooms finished being worked on, we put everything back to normal and lived in the back part of the house for most of the time as the front of the house is an open concept and somewhat connected to the kitchen in that it still remained very dusty while the kitchen was continued to be worked on. Once the kitchen was gutted the floors went in first and then the cabinets started getting installed. Countertop went in next, then the backsplash and finally the appliances. Fred also replaced 2 windows in the kitchen area. The installation of everything came out very clean. One of Fred's guys in particular, Juan, is exceptional. After our pull out drawer microwave was installed the opening of the cabinet we placed it in was too big and the microwave didn't have a kit. Juan used some of our cabinet material and basically made it look as if it was a custom built-in and we were really impressed. They also installed three pendant lights to go over the bar area as well as under cabinet lighting. Final product - AMAZING! We cannot believe this is our kitchen. Critique and Comments 1. Fred ALWAYS answered his phone. I never had to leave a message and wait around for him to call me back. In addition, any questions or concerns I had he addressed right away. 2. If we weren't happy with any aspect, Fred made sure his guys would fix it until we were satisfied with the work (no extra charge to us) 3. One of Fred's workers, Juan is AMAZING, especially with cabinetry. 4. I had a very specific vision for this kitchen and Fred made that come to life. Again, if there was anything that we were unsatisfied with he would fix it until we were satisfied. 5. We hit a major delay because three of our cabinets had manufacturer damage (we ordered from Lowe's) and had to wait for the replacements to arrive. However, things were going very quickly up until that point and I believe if we did not run into this delay (not Fred's fault) we would've finished ahead of schedule. 6. We were out of town a lot in the beginning while Fred's crew was working. (Simultaneously planning a wedding out of state for this summer). Felt comfortable not being home. 7. Fred's guys always cleaned up their mess at the end of each day. Kept furniture covered because, again, it does get very dusty. Another reviewer emphasize this, and she was right! 8. Fred is fair. Although we didn't get quotes from anyone else, after seeing the completion of the job we are 100% satisfied that we got our money's worth. Fred has a payment schedule and doesn't collect until after each specified portion of the job is complete and we were very comfortable with that. Just remember, no matter who your contractor is, a remodel can be a stressful, frustrating thing (especially while living in the house during it). Issues and concerns will always come up. However, having Fred as a contractor helps a lot. Working with Fred, we stressed less knowing that Fred wouldn't stop working until we were satisfied. The job wasn't just a checklist to him to get everything done at a minimum and leave. He doesn't leave until you are satisfied. And even then, he will come back if you find anything that needs fixing well after the job is done. He is also always upfront about costs so there were no hidden costs along the way. We will definitely hire Fred again when we are ready for more projects to be done.

We contacted Deco Construction for an estimate on remodeling the balcony area of our home. Fred answered the phone, set up an appointment with us and came to our home giving us suggestions on what might work to update the look of our "tall and skinny" home built in 1965 as well as address the annoying leak in our garage we were experiencing because of the balcony area. He provided a detailed estimate of the work he would perform and reviewed the contract with us in a timely manner. He also provided us with photos of ideas for the railing and suggested we visit other Deco projects in the area to help us determine the look we wanted to achieve. Fred provided samples of tiles as well as suggested where we could look if we had something else in mind. His crews were courteous and easy to work with and Fred showed up on a regular basis to review their work. He answered the phone every time we called which we greatly appreciated. We respect his professionalism and his friendliness. We will be calling him again for other home projects.
Description of Work: Demolition of existing balcony, part of wood siding, and wood shingles. Reinforced framing, installed subfloor, flashings, storm guard waterproofing, and wonder board. Installed and sealed porcelain tile at balcony floor. Installed red wood railing on balcony. Stained and varnished red wood railing. Changed all dry rot and termite damaged wood trim at exterior wall and around window and door. Painted wood trim and wood siding. Sanded, stained and varnished wood shingles. Installed 3 exterior light fixtures. Removed and hauled away trash for total project.

Wow. Where to start. How do I describe Fred, the owner, other than.. he's simply the best. I had verbally comitted with another contractor 6 months before meeting Fred. The process with the other contractor was taking so many months to even start the project... and have him give me the final bid.... that I went on Angies List and found Fred. After meeting with him and receivng a thorough and professional bid within one week, I called my original contractor and cancelled. I then called Fred, we met, I signed the project, gave him a deposit...... and the rest is history. A main goal in the remodel was to get more storage space into my small house. What started as a simple kitchen and bathroom remodel quickly morphed into a "whole-house" project. Fred was able to take what I had imagined in my mind for years and years and bring it to reality. My kitchen was a small, closed in little box and the tile on the countertop was popping up like popcorn. I was in desperate need of help. For 3 years, I carried around in my purse a sample of the countertop I dreamed of. The entire remodel pretty much revolved around that tile sample and the cabinetry I envisioned. We tore out the wall between the kitchen and living room, and installed a breakfast bar. Without adding any square footage, my kitchen now appears twice the size and is a joy to work in. The custom kitchen cabinets are gorgeous... everything I dreamed of. I can be in the kitchen and now socialize at the same time. No more kitchen box! Everything is bright and airy and open. Friends who now walk in the front door literally drop their jaws at the transformation. I come home from work everday and when I open the front door I can't believe this is my new home! We now have a "spa" bathroom. The old bathroom had a small tub on one side, a shower in the corner and a typical vanity. Fred drew up several designs on the bathroom and we came to agree on the design we felt would give us the most space and storage. We now have a combo "spa" tub/shower, built in cabinetry for linens and matching vanity with marble countertops. The stone floor complements the marble tub/shower enclosure and the wall colors pull everything together. We feel like we are on vacation! My daughter and I stayed in oiur home the entire time and shuffled around as the work progressed. Fred and his crew were courteous and thoughtful of our residency the entire time. I won't say I enjoyed chewing on dust and grit that first few weeks, but my daughter and I took this whole project on as an adventure. Being a small house, we have a bath and a quarter.... one tub and shower in the main bathroom... a sink and toilet in the other. The biggest challenge of the project was about 3 weeks with no shower. Thank goodness for our gym membership! Fred did the best he could to hurry up the completion of our main bathroom. Fred brought many good ideas to the project and was patient and good natured when I kept adding to it (and adding to it, and adding to it!) I quickly learned that once you did one thing, that generally leads to another and then another. We also tore out and rebuilt a wall from the other side of the kitchen that led to the dining room and family room. We tore back a railing from the steps leading down to the family room and enlarged that opening. Fred had a great idea about the wrought iron railing that separates the dining and family rooms. He "bronzed" it and added a wood cap and it looks simply amazing. We replaced the old windows in the family room and replaced the black old sliders with bright, white sliding glass doors. The look and feel of the entire house is so different and is just beautiful. When the carpet people installed the carpeting in the family room I was not happy. They way they laid the carpet, there was a very visible seam that ran the length of the room. When I called Fred, he came right over, took a look at it and agreed that it was poorly laid. He had the carpeting people order new carpeting, then when it came in they ripped out the original and re-installed the new carpeting properly. I was very impressed with the way Fred handled this problem. Fred also fixed up the deck off the dining room by texturizing the deck surface and building a patio cover... a 100% improvement. We started on May 1st and the new "hidden" screen door was installed 2 weeks ago. We are done and I couldn't be happier or more impressed with Fred and his great crew. It was fun coming home from work every day to see if Fred and his crew left me a "small" package... or a "large" package (like the day the walls came down!). We started the project with Fred, my contractor. We finished the project with Fred, my friend. I

Completely gutted guest bathroom, in part due to water damage that necessitated our hiring a contractor in the first place. We were finally able to identify source of the water damage and that caused us to have to gut and remodel the master bathroom also. Fred accomodated changes to the original contract. His team also repaired and repainted the adjoining bedroom due to cracks in the walls left by the bathroom demolition. Fred seems to know the building codes and follows them closely. This will probably result in long term satisfaction and undoubtedly avoid some issues that led us to have to remodel in the first place. As this is my first home remodel experience, I would recommend doing research and writing down any preferences you have for colors, styles and accessories and providing them to the contractor. This will allow them to get things ordered in advance and avoid unnecessary delays. This caused a minor delay in the guest bathroom project, but, overall, things got done in a reasonable amount of time and we are happy with the results. Fred's team worked pretty hard to get things completed on time. They even worked all day on 4th of July. I would recommend him.
Description of Work: Deco construction remodeled two bathrooms for us. Fred's team is professional and honest. Construction, plumbing, tile work and electircal work were all very good.

Fred, the owner of Deco, was organized and professional. He gave me a quote, sent out very talented workers, and completed the job in a prompt manner. Fred make a great recommendation to enlarge my shower and use glass to let in more natural light. The balconies were virtually rebuilt, with the joists covered in metal to prevent future damage. I would use Deco again and will recommend them to friends.
Description of Work: I had a guest bathroom redone and 2 large cantilevered balconies repaired. Fred, the owner, was interested in not only doing what we wanted , but also suggested some changes that proved to be better than we envisioned.

I made an appointment to meet with Fred a couple of weeks ago to get an estimate for a kitchen remodel. He never showed. Our appointment was for noon. At 1:00, I called him to find out if he was still planning on coming. He told me he was running late and would be at my house in 30 minutes. I told him that was fine. He never showed up, even after saying he would be at my place in half an hour. Totally flakey and totally unprofessional. I guess he doesn't need work to badly or something. I've met with several other contractors on Angie's List who are very experienced and total class acts. Don't waste your time with this company.
Description of Work: None, since Fred never even bothered to show up for our initial consultation.

When it came time to upgrade and expand our 1960's built home we researched several contractors. We took some referrals from our family friends and did some research online. One of our neighbors had recently remodeled his home and referred us to Deco Construction. We called and scheduled an appointment for the following weekend. That weekend we met with Fred and Ali and explained our goals. We didn't really have a plan or an exact idea to go on so we were hoping to meet with someone who could give us ideas, and did they ever. Both Fred and his son Ali gave us some great ideas on how we could remodel our house and get a more open feel in our older style home. We explained that we had no plans and asked if they knew people they could refer and they told us they had in-house designer and engineers that could help us. We discussed what we would like to do and Fred said he will have the estimate to us with in the week. We met with a couple more contractors after Deco and we actually used the ideas that Fred and Ali gave us as the basis of our remodel with the other contractors. The next weekend we received the estimate from Deco. The estimate was very detailed and offered options that we could elect to do instead that would both lower or increase the price. For example we were given multiple options for flooring in the living room and family room and so on. We reviewed the estimate and felt like we actually understood the entire process just from Deco's estimate. To try and be fair and do our own due diligence we waited for 2 more estimated to come in from the other contractors we met with. When we finally received the two we were shocked at what we saw. One contractor gave us a one page bid with three items with a bunch of lists of things to be done and 3 prices for the entire work. And the second was more detailed but the explanations were undecipherable. The prices were significantly different too. Deco's price was not the cheapest by any means and we had to wait a few weeks before they could start; however from our meeting with Fred and Ali and the other two contractors we felt like Deco really knew what they were doing and we could trust them with our family home. We began the work two weeks after we signed the contract and quickly became more and more impressed as the work progressed. Deco's workers are very polite and professional and worked quickly and tried to stay out of our way as much as possible. Prior to starting in a new section they carefully moved and covered the furniture. Throughout the day Fred and Ali would continually stop by to bring material, check the quality of the work and to make sure that the work was progressing at a satisfactory pace. At the end of the work day the workers would clean up the work area, pack up the tools out of the way. A week into the work it became time to pick colors and cabinets. We wanted to see different styles and optioned and wanted to physically see the cabinets. Fred invited us to his showroom in Torrance where we were able to see the different style cabinets, flooring options, countertop colors and materials and so much more. We were glad that we didn?t have to go from place to place on our own to try to find our counters, cabinets, flooring, faucets and so on. We discussed the pros and cons of the different material and made our choices. The work progressed in a timely and professional manner and Fred and Ali were always accessible when we had a question or an "IDEA". As the work progressed we noticed that we needed to upgrade a few more areas of the home to make sure they outdated items didn?t stand out against the contrast of the beautiful work that Deco was performing at our home. We added several more items along the way and as with the first estimate and contract everything was nicely detailed with new work and payment schedules. Both Fred and Ali kept us aware of the stages of the work and made sure we were kept in the loop. The work was completed a full week ahead of schedule, and we were asked by Fred and Ali to walk through the entire house and do a visual inspection of the property. The workmanship was impeccable and the only thing we noticed was a couple of scratches that were made in the garage when out new washer and dryer were delivered by Best Buy. Ali quickly had one of their staff paint the wall with the scratch and mark. Over all we are extremely satisfied with the work that Deco performed. The father and son team were a pleasure to work with and we will definitely be using Deco Construction in the future.
Description of Work: Addition to two bedrooms, remodel kitchen, master bath, guest bath, drywall in garage, new garage doors, new windows, opened up a few walls and updated electrical and plumbing.

I had several contractors (all from Angie's "A" list) submit their bid for the remodel. Bottom line I chose Deco because he was able to offer more things for my budget (french doors, new laminate floor on the first floor); plus he has good reviews here. The entire experience was smooth; no drama and surprises. My wife and I both found Fred, the owner, a pleasure to work with. Fred's priority is keeping the customer happy and he is always a phone call away (7 days a week literally). Fred explained all the options available and lent some valuable advise in making our selections. All his work was outstanding and is backed by a 2 year warranty. High praise that is well deserved.

Fred came out and gave us an estimate which we compared with two others we had done and we determined that we liked his best. Not just on price alone though, he also did a great job on detail and listened closely to what we wanted. The work was started on time and finished before the estimated completion date.Deco's workers were clean, courteous, polite, and tried to keep the enevitable mess to a minimum.Fred himself was there at least once every day to supervise the work and to keep in close contact with us.The estimate was closely adhered to and the only changes were for upgrades and extra work we wanted done (eg. extra plumbing and electrical).Overall we are very pleased with Fred and Deco's work and have already recommended them to several friends.

They were the top rated construction company in the area. I think they’re doing a good job. I got prices from other companies I found on Angie’s List, and they had the best price, even though I’d like to get it even cheaper. Fred, the guy that owns the company, is really responsive and punctual. He always calls me back. There have been no surprises or hidden charges to date. I’d recommend them to anybody. I think they do quality work. They fix anything that I think was not done correctly.
Description of Work: Deco Construction is doing some general contractor work on my house. The job is pretty big, and I keep adding to the scope of work, which includes windows, doors, some stucco work, some tile, some drywall, some electric, and some plumbing.

The entire experience was great from beginning to end. This was a recently purchased short sale from h***. I am so glad that we choose the right contractor. We were first time home buyers and excited about the purchase. Little did we know all the problems that we would confront during renovations. The owner, Fred, was right there with us from the start. The prior homeowners had done quite a bit of work to the home that was improper and not up to code. Fred, quickly pointed the deficiencies. His crew were clean and offered to help when moving things into the home. A few times I was close to tears due to the findings Fred was right there to let me know that his crew was there and could handle the obstacles that were presented. If you're looking for an honest, reliable and professional company, hire Deco Construction. I now have a lovely home and am very satisfied with the finished product. When the home was purchased, we had no ideas as to what the home could be but with Fred's vision and recommendations, we now have the home that we love. We will continue to hire Fred in the future for whatever home projects that we need.
