+ 0 moreJose of Dandoy Glass in Torrance, CA came the very afternoon that I called. Replaced a broken window on my house that very afternoon. Work took about an hour. Their price was less than anyone else that I called. Jose was very polite. He cleaned up after he finished. The new glass looks better than what was replaced. I was extremely pleased with the speed, the price and Jose's good manners.

+ -1 moreCalled and quickly made an appointment for several days later. A day ahead of the appointment the service person called to see if he could come a day ahead of schedule. When told it was no problem, he said he would be here in an hour and showed up on time. He was patient and careful and demonstrated expertise in aligning the shower door as much as conditions allowed. In doing his work he explained the issues he confronted and how he solved them. I feel the work was excellent, although somewhat pricey.

+ -1 moreThe project was to install wall mounted custom mirrors in two separate bathrooms. Despite having come out twice to measure the walls, when they showed up to mount the mirrors one of the mirrors was too large to fit. They had to return to re-grind that mirror.The project ending up talking more than 6 hours from start toi finish. As a result, I was tethered to the house all day for what is a very straightforward project. Total time spent actually mounting the mirrors was less than an hour. What's more, in the process of hanging the mirrors, they knocked the towel rack off the wall. Hoping to go unnoticed, they simply placed the rack back on the mounting plates without securely reattaching the rack. My wife witnessed this entire episode. When she asked if they had broken the towel rack they flatly denied it. My wife then lightly touched the previously secure towel rack, it fell to the floor. Prior to their knocking the towel rack off the wall it had easily held multiple towels without incident. When I asked them about the towel rack, they became confrontational, raised their voice and denied the rack had even been distrubed as it sat there on the floor in plain view! Further, as they proceeded to reattach a light fixture they had removed in order to mount the mirror, one of the technicians stood with his foot on our wall mounted sink. I asked that he remove his foot from the sink as it was not intended to bear that much weight. He denied that he was standing on the sink even as his foot remained on the sink. They left both bathrooms a total mess with furniture and toilettries strewn about and dirt all over our floor and bath mats. The mirrors are up for now, but the experience was horrendous and even after confronting them on how they were disrespecting our home, their attitude was overtly defiant. I would recommend AGAINST using Dandoy glass. I regret having allowed these people into our home.

+ -1 moreI am not an expert in glass and windows. I'm sure the quality of the material is fine. However, the customer service, communication, punctuality, responsiveness could definitely be improved. I am completely for supporting my local businesses, but I will not use Dandoy Glass again.
Description of Work: I am disappointed to be writing this negative review about Dandoy Glass, considering all the excellent reviews I've read about. But it is because of those reviews that I went with Dandoy Glass. My employer had a theft where someone broke the window to get into the building. I recommended Dandoy Glass after reviewing Angie's List. I am not glad I did. My colleague contacted Dandoy Glass and made an appointment to have someone come out to take measurements and provide an estimate for the repairs for the exact same replacement window. Unfortunately, Dandoy Glass was busy, but they were able to send someone out 3 days later. When that time came, no one showed up. Our secretary did not receive a call either. So the next day, we called Dandoy and they said they were busy and forgot and was going to send someone the next day, which they did. It took 5 days after the initial call just to get an estimate. After they took the measurements, they had to go back into the office and source the glass to provide an estimate. A quote of nearly $400 was provided, to which we agreed to. However, they wouldn't order the glass until I prepaid the order. I was a bit skeptical, but due to the good reviews, I agreed to prepay and did so. I was told it would take 3 days and we scheduled a follow-up appointment for the installation. When that day came, again, no one showed up with no explanation. When the secretary called to inquire about it, she was told that the glass was never ordered because the glass wasn't paid for. After explaining that payment was already made over the phone by credit card, she apologized and placed the order for the glass. Another few days later, the glass came in, and Dandoy contacted us for the install. The installation went fine, but the glass wasn't exactly the same, as requested. Another call to Dandoy revealed that it wouldn't look the same because the original window had tint. If they knew this, why wasn't it offered when an exact same replacement was requested? The quality of the glass is fine. However, it was the communication, responsiveness and punctuality that resulted in a poor experience.

+ -1 moreThey were clear and persistent about what information I needed to give them in order to get the best possible replacement panes, and I appreciate that. They helped me save money by suggesting that I bring in the window rather than have a repairman service it. The work was done very promptly (but I wish they had called me immediately when it was completed).
Description of Work: Window repair; I removed a double paned window that had been damaged by a bb gun and they replaced the panes.

+ -1 moreDandoy was originally contracted to install the glass in posts set by the contractor who built the wall. Installing the posts required drillling through precast concrete capstones in the wall. The original contractor found he was over his head in drilling the holes, so we called in Dandoy to rescue the job and install the posts as well as the glass. They took over and handled the problem very professionally and did excellent work. They are not the least expensive glass contractor we have found, but still very reasonable and as usual, you generally get what you pay for.
Description of Work: Installed glass windscreen on a stuccoed concrete wall built by another contractor.

+ -1 moreI went to Dandoy Glass showroom to look for a frameless shower door for my master bath remodel. I was assisted by Maria. She was extremely helpful and informative. She explained all my options and helped me select all the items I would need to have a frameless shower door installed. Since I was not yet ready for the door Maria provided me with a list of all the items I had selected. When I contacted the company again to come out and take measurements for the door, they were very responsive and came out within a few days. After the measurements were taken I was contacted later that day with a price and agreed to move on and have the doors created and installed. The installation went smoothly the workers were prompt, professional and courteous. The frameless door is beautiful and appears to be high quality. I would definitely use this company again.

+ -1 moreWe got 3-4 quotes for a shower door in our bathroom. A couple other companies were very poor at calling back and / or showing up on time. The experience with Dandoy was good from the start. They were helpful and professional and did a great job on the door. They were around the same price range as the other companies, but we felt more confident in going with them because of their responsiveness and because they have been around such a long time. I would definitely use them again.

+ -1 moreDid complete gutting and remodel of bathroom. The fiberglass shower insert was removed, the space expanded, and installation of a ceramic tile shower. Dandoy came out to take measurements. I visited the store a couple times over the course of my project. Various options for shower glass (hinges, tracks, knobs/handles, etc.) are displayed at the store. Staff was always helpful -- both at the store and on the phone. I purchased the "Shower Guard" protection for the glass. The installation looks beautiful and I'm very happy with it. I met with one other vendor in shopping for the glass, but found I was more satisfied with the interactions with the Dandoy staff.

Stucco was completed that same week and color was very close to original. Employees were polite and quality of Milgard windows is superior.
