A-1 Garage Door Service

Came across Frank 6-8 yrs ago when I was searching the internet for someone to service my garage door opener. Was a great experience then and I wanted to keep Frank's business card in case I needed his services again. Today cables snapped due to rust. Couldn't remember his company name and couldn't find his biz card so I began searching AngiesList and I spotted his name! Called him today (a Sunday!) and immediately he answered. YES .. Frank answers his own company telephone! He was at my home within 2 hrs of getting the call and he remedied the problem quickly and charged a fair price, especially considering short notice and it being a Sunday. I would absolutely recommend him.

Went great. Next-day service, quick assessment and replacement. Good value.

They came out within a couple days and repaired my garage. They did an excellent job! Their price was phenomenal. I will definitely use them again and have recommended them to my neighbor.

They did it quickly; I called on the first and it was done on the 2nd. I could not be happier. I am so amazed. Price was okay. I didn't do much pricing because I knew I would be satisfied, but I thought the price was fair for the full unit, tracks, etc. I have no complaints, they were wonderful.

It went wonderfully. The new door looks great & operates electronically. I wanted a garage door that would not dent due to soccer or basketballs, so A-1 reinforced the garage door so it won't dent. Its been tested and hasn't dented.

Great! Came out to assess old door at no charge. Got a quote for a modern glass door that was the best price out of three quotes. Very responsive and professional.

Garage door was not closing and needed some minor servicing, Omar was very knowledgeable and had several recommendations at a reasonable price without any type of hard sell! Highly recommended!

I chose to give a B for punctuality since they had made an appointment with me on Thursday that they could not keep. The company called to let me know a little later than I would have preferred. Thankfully, they were able to make the appointment on Saturday, and preform the repairs in around an hour (they had the parts on the truck)

Did not respond to message sent through Angie's list and did not respond to email sent through website.

Ben Vasquez and his partner did a great job. Quickly replaced the old opener with a new one. I wanted a belt drive but Ben recommended a chain drive because of the type of door. He's the expert so I went with his recommendation. I appreciate his willingness to suggest what he thought best for the situation. Cleaned up after themselves very nicely.

It's always difficult to clean up someone else's mess, but that's what A-1 did here. Over the past year or so, our garage door has been removed and reinstalled by general contractors who were working on other things. Somewhere along the way, the door was not installed properly and it started to not work. One of our current contractors felt the door was unsafe and recommended we call for expert advice. We called A-1 and they had someone come out the next day. It took him a while, because he had to uninstall and re-install the garage door rails (they were reversed by a previous contractor) and tighten the spring. The sensors that were in place were of poor quality, so they installed ones that worked much better. Work was professional and the A-1 representative was friendly, courteous & communicated well with other guys who were working nearby. I would hire them again, no question!

I didn't like that fact that they came over here and they called one of their friends to take the old one. They were ready to just give it to him.

The work was done promptly and professionally. The price fair and not particularly low.

We spent about $200 to $230. It went very well, we were really surprised that it was a lot more reasonable in price than we were thinking. Another garage door repair man told us we would need a new door and we were happy when he told us he could fix it. He was very prompt.

Called A-1 on a Saturday and we had Ben and his helper at our house in 3 hours. We really thought it was a complete disaster and we were going to half to replace the door and rails. Ben came out, looked at it and quickly said..no problem, seen much worse and I can take care of it. He grabbed his tools got to it quickly and before an hour had passed he had it straightened out and working. Amazing. He also oiled and adjusted everything so now the garage is quieter and works better than it did before. These guys were professional and efficient. Great to do business with.

My garage door kept opening by itself and I wanted to replace the old one. So called A-1 for an estimate and a appointment was made for Saturday. After a hiccup finally Frank arrived on Sunday and gave a price quote of $500.00 for a new garage opener, keyless entry, and replaced the weather strip on the garage door. I didn't wanted to spent $500.00 but I was needing it done so I went with the replacements. They were going to be back on Monday to do the work and made arrangements for them to be here even though I couldn't be. But then they called me just as they left and said they could come back and do right now if I had the time. It was great that they were willing to do the work on a Sunday afternoon even though the office was getting ready to close. Omar went right to work while Frank went to go get the parts. I thought I was just getting the garage door opener unit replaced instead they were replacing my chain system to a whole new screw opener system. Omar was fast in getting the unit installed and made sure everything was cleaned up. Both Frank and Omar took the time to explain everything to me. They had to come back the next day to replace the weather strip due to the fact that they could not get the material that was needed. They came the next day early and took care of it. Although I paid more than I wanted to, but now I have a quieter door opener and I don't have to worry about it for a long while.

Wonderful!! Frank came out on a Sunday and took a look at the job. He quoted us on the spot and the door was installed (3) days later. The workmanship was great and very professional. Would definitely call again!

I had foolishly left a ladder in the way of the garage door and pressed the "open" button and threw the entire thing off the tracks. I put it back together myself and it fell apart again. After struggling with the door with neighbors I was advised that I needed a new door. I read the excellent reviews on A-1 for repairs and I figured I would give them a try. This morning they arrived and put it all back together, replaced 8 of the hinges and adjusted the entire system. My garage door has not sounded or moved this smooth since I bought this house. When it comes time to replace the door I will call these guys to do it.

I called at 8:30am to see if they could come out to my home and the gentleman took my information and said he would call me back when he checks the schedule to see if one of the guys can make it out here this morning. I get a call back at 9:30am saying someone will be at my home in 30 minutes. Ben was very polite and answered all of my questions. Both of my springs were replaced, one barring was changed, the rollers and upper track were lubricated and the nuts on my hardware were all tightened in 1 hour. My door now opens beautifully and it's so much more quiet! Fantastic, quick service at a great price!

They were good too. They came out right away to fix my garage door. They came right away. The price wasn't bad and they were good. When I called, they either came that day or the next day. He told me something was going on. He just replaced the whole thing later. I got them off your list and they were close. They were A. I didn't complain about the price so it was good. It's still working since they fixed it. They were very professional. I have their card because I may need to get a new door.

The cables on our garage door jumped off the track on one side, and in the process most of the rollers on the other side of the door were pulled out. We were unable to open/close the garage. The representative was on time (early on a Saturday morning). He was incredibly friendly and quick. He replaced the cables (which were nearly sheared apart), got the wheels back in the track, and the door properly mounted again. We are very happy with the quality of work. Service call was $120. Parts cost was $40 for two cables.

I would recommend this company to anyone.

Called A-1 to schedule a spring replacement-- 1 spring broke on my door and therefore it needed replacing-- the price of the call out was $130. The A-1 tech came to my house and I was told that it was going to cost me $499 (Foreign accent) for both springs to be replaced-- however this turned out NOT to be true as after the installation of the springs, the tech charged me $499 for each spring-- thus I ended up with a bill of over $1300-- I could have had a new garage door for that price. I'm really upset about this as I feel I've just been had by this company. My advice to anyone else considering A1 garage is not to get suckered by these people. I intend to have this investigated by someone as this cannot be right.
