Description of Work: Our roof top air conditioning units went out at our condo while we were out of town. I found Timo's on Angie's List and called. They gave me an estimate the next day. The work was done the next week. They did a great job, very professional! Joe Timo made every part of the process seamless and easy. They installed two new units and installed two new thermostats inside.

+ -1 moreOne of the two AC units for the house went out. I called on Tuesday morning and they said they would have someone at my house between 4:30 and 6:00pm that day. The tech arrived at 3:55pm appx. 35 minutes early. He went right to work and explained what he was doing and fixed it in about 45 minutes. Great service, very professional and Honest. Would definately call them again.

Description of Work: This family owned business is truly a gem here in the desert. It is obvious that their business has been built on honesty and integrity. I recently needed to have my thermostat replaced. Joey promptly took care of it, arriving on time and not deviating from the price quoted. This company is a rare find. The call taker took my information and advised me that a service tech would return my call. Its now close to 4 hours later. Another local company will now get my business. Poor customer service!

+ -1 moreI contacted Joey at Timo Air after looking at the reviews on Angies List. He came to my home and inspected my old system and recommended a Trane Air Condition and heating system. He e-mailed me a proposal and after a week of many questions to him and receiving 3 other local companies proposal I chose Timo Air Conditioning and Heating to install my new system. I felt that their warranty, extended service contact, and his professional handling of all my questions made the difference. Joey and his crew arrived as scheduled and preformed everything and more and completed the work on time. I could not be more please especially today when I received my Electric bill and in was nearly cut in half after only 18 days of the new system. I highly recommend Joey and Timo Air Conditioning and Heating to all. A job well done!!

They showed up exactly on time were very professional and courteous. Gave system a thorough inspection and found no problems. Did not try to upsell at all. Done in less than 30 mins. Highly recommend.

+ -1 moreI initially contacted Timo's by e-mail to request a quote. Joe Timo responded within a few hours and arranged for a van to come out and inspect the job site in order to provide a quote. The representatives were very friendly and professional and provided what proved to be one of the most reasonable quotes I received. When I mentioned that I had learned of their company through Angie's List they gave me an additional discount. On the installation day they arrived on time and well-prepared. The installation and testing went smoothly for the new mini-split unit. For the swamp cooler they ended up needing to a replace a part of the duct-work that was hidden behind the old swamp cooler equipment. They didn't have the part that day, but called back and rescheduled the installation immediately after the weekend, with no additional charge for replacement of the defective duct-work. Overall I ended up dealing with 6 different people at Timo's, all of whom were professional, courteous and efficient.
Description of Work: Installed mini-split heating/cooling unit in garage. Replaced whole house swamp cooler.

My wife researched Timo's on the Angies List site and based on their very positive ratings we contacted them. Every part of the process was excellent. From the initial contact, response time, diagnosis of the problem, preparation of estimate ( which was fair and competive based on my review with contacts I have in MD.), scheduling of the work, quality of the work, concern and professionalism of the Timo Team, and clean up. Description of Work: My husband and I purchased a mid-century modern home in Palm Springs pending our move from Texas. We received estimates for completely new heating and air conditioning systems as well as having duct work done......and chose Joe Timo's company. He gave us a specific estimate of materials, labor, and cost of the work to be done on the top-of-the line system we chose. Being out-of-state and not knowing anyone, we felt like we had won the HVAC lottery! We were very lucky to have such fine professionals working on our home that were knowledgeable, skilled, efficient, and courteous. They were always prompt and reliable. Joe is very involved in the work and has high expectations of a job well done. Our new systems are working beautifully.

+ -1 moreJoe Timo's did not pressure me in anyway to sign a contract. I just could not accept the cost to upgrade to utilize any rebates. It is my personal opinion that contractors feel that rebates are a windfall to new business and are missing the concept overall value to increase there businesses.
Description of Work: REVIEW I SUBMITTED ON 7/17/2011 ("F") Joe Timo's asked me to "RE- Review our negotiation experience: In fairness to the contractor, Joe Tomo's, he did finally contact me. He apparently seen my first review where I gave his company a " F". Not sure if Angie's list provided him with who gave him the ("F") review or he was just able to figure it out based on my comments. I did give him the low review (F) as my review stated, because that was the facts, as I experienced them. Joe Timo's did call me and wanted to question me about my review and explain what he felt happened. I did not particularly like this, however I stand by my review at the time. Joe Timo's advised me that he thought he had e-mailed me a quote, however I never received anything. He eventually sent me another quote and asked me to "Re submit a review", because he wanted to keep a good Angie's record. Timo's did provide me with a quote, however the bid price was to high. I personally felt that any of the Energy Rebates from IID (my Energy Provider) & the Federal Government were offering had been eliminated or absorbed into the overall price. I searched the inter-net to see what the A/C equipment would costs and I could purchase the A/C units cheaper and when you add in the additional labor cost it was just to unrealistic to upgrade. I than decided to calculated the total quote to the overall life of the system (various from 5 to 10 years) and it would take several years beyond the warranty, to ever start to realize any "financial saving". .

+ -1 moreMy building inspector suggested that I needed more freon and Joe advised me that it wasn’t necessary. He went up to the attic and checked the furnace, and advised it wasn’t a necessary repair at this time. I received a reasonable rate for the inspection and service call.

+ -1 moreExcellent experience. Had just taken possession of a home that was purchased "as is", so really had no idea what to expect in terms of the overall bill of health on the HVAC system. Made an appointment for a Timo's tech to come by and have a look. It was 115 degrees outside and the house was sweltering. Steven and his co-worker had it working in no time. Replaced the thermostat, cleaned out the filters, added freon and gave us his honest opinion on how long it would last and what would need to be done in the future. Prompt, professional, no attempt was made to up sell or stick us with a whole new system. The next day an add'l part went on the fritz and he was out in no time to replace that too. When we're ready to replace the whole thing we won't look any farther.

Description of Work: This was the fourth of July weekend. On Saturday afternoon I called Timo's and two other companies. I still have not heard from the other ones and it is the 4th of July as I write this. An actual friendly person answered the phone and I had a call back from the service Technician within 30 minutes and he arrived to our house within 2 hours. He was very professional and curteous.

+ -1 moreHe came to the house and did both my condo and my neighbors at the same time. Our units are on the roof so we combined service calls. He came in changed the filter, checked the thermostat, went on the roof and befowe he came back into the house I could feel the cold air coming thru the vents. He put in 3# of freon, only charged me for 2#.Totally unexpected. I have had guys out here before that know you HAVE to have freon and charge alot for it. Not Joe Timo, he knew my situation and had some heart. Like I already said I would use them and recommend them to any one!
Description of Work: They were awsome! Joe was professional, very pleasant, competant, and more than fair on price. I told him my issues, and BINGO,BANGO, it was all done! I will definitely reccomend him to any one that will listen, and in Palm Springs, good A/C guys are hard to come by. Thanks Joe for hooking me up for a cool summer.

+ -1 moreI scheduled an air conditioning tune-up for the following Thursday. When I realized that no cold air was coming from my system, I called Timo's to alert them to the new condition of my unit. Although it was on a Sunday and Mother's Day, they said that they would dispatch someone right away. Even though I tried to tell the operator (who turned out to be the daughter of the owner), that I did not have an emergency, she assured me that a technician was in my area and could come over for the standard weekend surcharge of $40. I was really surprised when the owner Joe and his son Joey turned out to be the technicians.
Description of Work: They performed the normal air conditioning tune-up service, and then topped off the refrigerant. They were very efficient and friendly.

Description of Work: The workmen called me before they arrived at my house because they were running early! They arrived at my house and explained what the visit would entail. They serviced two air conditioner systems and two swamp coolers. They were courteous and knowledgeable. At no time did I feel like I was not being informed of the cost of their work. They did not have a necessary part for the repair and they called another truck to bring the part so that the job could be completed. This was a positive experience. I would highly recommend this company!

+ -1 moreAfter getting half dozen bids for a complete heating and air conditioning replacement, I found Timo's on Angies List. I emailed them with an estimate request and Joe Timo called me twice the next day looking to meet me for and estimate. After he came to my home, gave me a written estimate that was one of the cheaper estimates I had received, I had him to the complete re-install of my heating and air conditioning system. His staff came out, were very informative and didn't mind me watching them do the replacement or ask questions. I am totally satisfied and feel that I called the right guy after reading all the positive comments about Timo's on Angies List. Even after I voiced a concern about where the existing thermosat was located, Timo's replaced the vent in my family room so it wouldn't blow air on the vent without charging me extra. I feel that Timo's goes above and beyond to do a great job and make the customer happy with the decision to choose Timo's Heating and Air conditioning.
