Nathan and Alex came out to my house and ran their snake down my toilet lines and had it clear within an hour. They both wore masks and were very courteous, I will be requesting them for all my future plumbing issues.

Share review Embed review 10/21/2020 I saw an ad for a low cost maintenance from this company. Todd came out. He had been here just over 1 year ago for A/C maintenance, just after I had repaired something and got my A/C working again. All was good he said at the time. This past Sunday my outside compressor unit went out and I was not getting cold air inside. Todd saw that the breaker had shut off and warned that this was a bad sign. He opened the compressor and saw that one wire had burnt apart, which I couldn't see well, standing behind him. He tried to make me feel like an idiot for not seeing the wires burned. As he named the parts he also tried to make me feel stupid for not knowing the names of these parts and components. Todd said on the estimate that I needed to change out the Disconnect Box and Whip for $650, which he did not believe would fix the problem. If Compressor was damaged that would be $1800 (except on the estimate he sent me it said $1950. What's a mere $150 more, I guess?) I decided to seek a second or third opinion. A different a/c repair company came a few hours later, at NO charge and offering a flat rate for service. He was pleasant and not rude. He opened the area where the wire was still loose. He simply reconnected this wire and after I turned on the unit from inside the house, the compressor began spinning and working correctly, as it is now. He also mentioned how the wires were loose, and that will cause them to burn up. This made me seriously wonder if last year the wires weren't left loose purposely to help possibly generate some future unnecessary business from me. Sounds all too plausible, if not likely. Considering how Todd was moving me toward possibly purchasing a whole new unit ($3800 or who knows what in the end) on 10/19/20. The second company guy also mentioned how the CVPH&A company recently changed their name. Due to bad reviews, I wondered. He seemed to think this was quite possible. Maybe change unethical practices rather than your company name.

RIP OFF ALERT! J Anthony does not care about their customers. They only care about lining their pockets with your money by over charging and not standing behind their work. In 2012 I had them install a new HVAC unit with a 10 year warranty. Fast forward to 2017 and the compressor on the AC unit has gone out. J Anthony tech comes out and says $1800 labor cost to replace the under warranty compressor. You'd figure that they'd give a loyal customer a better price on the work. NOPE! I called Desert Air who quoted $1500 for the same work and I'm not even one of their customers. Stay away from J Anthony. They are the worst professional service company I have ever encountered. It's sad that they prey on people who need cooling to live in the desert.

My tenant in Palm Springs contacted me and said her A/C wasn't working. I told her I would contact my regular A/C repairman in the morning since it was after business hours. In a panic, see said she called J Anthony because she had seen their trucks all over town. When the repairman came, he told her immediately she needed a new unit because he could tell from the sound of the unit that it was bad. He knew this without ever going on the roof to look at it! He said the charges would be at least $3000 plus the cost of hauling the unit to the roof. He said his diagnostic services would be $65. I told her we would wait for my guy to look at it. The next day my guy found the problem and replaced the part as well as tuning up the unit. His charge was $295 and my tenant has not had a problem with the unit for the past month and a half. After I found out the problem and authorized the work, I called J Anthony to find out why the technician didn't even look at the unit. The office manager said he would have the tech call me. He called later and gave me a story about how bad the unit was. I played along and asked him if he went on the roof to look at the unit and he lied to me and said "yes". When I told him the unit needed only a minor part and that he should refund the $65 to my tenant for the service call, he became very defensive and claimed I was being negligent for not replacing the unit. Only later did we find out the company charged her bank account not $65 but $165! After talking with the office manager he agreed to refund all money to her. This kind of deception should not be tolerated and I believe they were trying to take advantage of my female tenant to increase sales. My advice...Stay away!

He told me it would cost $6800 per unit to replace it or fix it. He was only here for 15 min and charged me $110. Beware that they offer deals to come out, but then don't really do anything.

As of this date I am not happy they are suppose to come out on Monday and fix what they didn't on Thursday. We'll see but I am a little worried.

Two J. Anthony employees arrived on time. I told them that one of the outside units was making noise at start-up, but other than that, everything seemed okay. They used my hose to rinse off the units. They noted that my filters were brand new and didn't change them. It would have been nice if they had offered me the filters anyway. They stated that they tightened some loose wires, but that (even thought they were currently working) my units had some serious electrical and motor problems. They asked me who installed my units (another company) and when (2008). They stated that I should buy new ones from them, and that my units were of inferior quality. The representative stated that he loves the company that installed my AC units because "they make so much work" for J. Anthony. Classy. The representative replaced the batteries in my wall switches. I guess my units are "tuned up." I haven't noticed a difference in performance. They left a written report on my units problems. I must note that they never looked at the blower in my garage, or climbed into the crawl space/attic to check the electrical thingy (that they said had major problems). Overall, I had a mixed impression. I was left wondering if their "tune-up" deal was just a ruse to sell brand new units.

They are supposed to come out and put in freon in the air conditioning. They haven't done this yet. They said it wasn't hot enough when I last talked to them.

We were very dissatisfied with the work performed which resulting in the need for a new unit. When we called the main office to get help after the unit stopped cooling we were told that someone would be out to fix the unit between 8 and 10am the NEXT day. No on ever came. At 2pm that day we stopped payment on the check. We have never heard from J Anthony. Obviously the worker was not knowledgeable.

THEY CAME OUT ON LABOR DAY WEEKEND WHEN NO ONE COULD MAKE IT FOR A FEW DAYS AND I WAS LEFT IN THE EXTREME HEAT. THEY CAME ON A WEEKEND AND DID THE WORK EFFICIENTLY. MY ONLY PROBLEM WAS THAT IF I HAD DONE MY HOMEWORK I WOULD OF PUT IN A 12 SEER CONDENSER BUT THE 10 IS WHAT THEY HAD IN STOCK FOR THE BUDGET I HAD AT THAT TIME.

DUE TO A WATER HEATER BURSTING, J. ANTHONY RESPONDED PROMPTLY WITH A NEW WATER HEATER AND CLEANED UP ALL DEBRIS BEFORE AND AFTER INSTALLATION. I HAVE USED THIS COMPANY BEFORE WITH A/C AND WAS COMPLETELY PLEASED WITH THEIR COURTESY, EFFICIENCY AND SERVICE.
