A metal roof was one of the larger ticket budget items on our total remodel last year, and I received several quotes looking for the best combination of price and experience. Suffice it to say that I am very satisfied with our decision to go with Pacific Metal Roofing and it was a great experience from start to finish. Michael Sandford was probably more patient than he should have been with my questions regarding the quote and the various product options available. The experience of the crew is obvious from the moment they set foot on the lot and start to work, and they clearly take pride in getting the details correct. There were several decisions that needed to be made on site during the installation, and they were very helpful and essentially bailed me out with a funky roofline issue and a couple of other tricky details. This included custom metal flashing around our front entry and gallery, both interior and exterior, which look fabulous and are a real source of satisfaction and a focal point for anyone entering the house. I would not have trusted the flashing job to just anyone, but by then I had seen the quality of the work they were doing on the roof and it was clear that these guys don't take a back seat to anyone in the fabrication and installation of architectural sheet metal. I had a general contractor on site and his crew were also impressed by the quality of the work being done. Michael told me from the start that their quote would likely not be the cheapest, and he was correct about that, but if I had to do this again on another project, this is the only call I would make. Once you have been through this process you will realize that there are just too many ways to take short cuts on metal roofing and too may ways to mess things up to take chances. If you want a company experienced in high end residential metal roof installation, you aren't going to find more qualified or professional people to work with. The work speaks for itself and I would encourage you to go around and see installed roofing from various companies before making a decision. Get up close and look at the details, and particularly any areas with tricky angles, pie wedges, stepped rooflines, and the edge and gutter flashing. Look at the roof penetrations. Check out the gutter work. After you see a few, the differences become obvious. Pay particular attention to the warranty and how long the installer will stand behind the roof in terms of watertightness. Metal roofing isn't cheap, and you are only going to do it once. My advice would be to go with a known quantity.
